Food is EXCELLENT. The mole sauce is to die for. Free margs. BUT [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's really, really loud in here. Like it's all tile and bare walls so it there are echoes and echoes and echoes. Get it?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Anyway, maybe it was the table next to us where the lady was SCREAMING talking. It did seem to quiet down after they left. But it was still pretty loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Again, the food is delicious. I tried the quesabirra (sp?). It was OK. I stole some of my son's mole sauce to eat with it and it was much better. I guess I'm not a birra guy. Did I mention how delicious the mole sauce is? Service was a little slow, we had to wait for the basics, napkins, utensils, etc. It seemed like they only had 2 people taking care of the whole place on a Saturday night but they were nice and apologetic, no biggie, we're here for the food!

We visited El Limon after doing an escape room right around the corner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is a little hard to find (seemingly behind the main drag), but walkable from the main street where our escape room was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers had no issues seating our party of 6, and we were glad it wasn't overly crowded on the Sunday night that we visited. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space looked relatively new, but they had cute decor that fit the Mexican vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were surprised but pleased to learn that they offered free margs - and in your flavor of choosing! I went for a mango marg - it was good, but not overly strong and pretty sweet (although it did make the mango flavor standout). But hey, free is free and this was a nice touch. For food, the menu is large! Really hard to narrow down what I wanted to go for. Our group started out with chips and salsa and guac, which was standard but hit the spot to start. Based on suggestions from our dining partners, for my entree, I decided on the al pastor fajitas. For the price (~$14), it was a generous serving! The meat was cooked well, but I was a little disappointed in the lacking amount of pineapple with the meat. The tortillas to encase the meat were good (I appreciated that they were served warm), and the accompanying lettuce and tomatoes made for a nice complete dish. Our friends ordered a variety of dishes, and everyone enjoyed their food, having similar sentiments. El Limon was a convenient spot to visit during our time in Lansdale, but if I'm craving Mexican food, I'm probably going elsewhere for dinner (and to a spot closer to home). I would be interested to try other menu items since they have such a vast variety, though - next time my travels take my to Lansdale!

This is my new fav El Limon establishment!! The ambiance was beautiful, so loved the decor. My friend who lives in this neighborhood has never been to this restaurant. she loves Mexican cuisine. She absolutely loved the food here and the look of the place. I tried their quesadillas and it was delicious. I wasn't a fan of the tamale as it was too bready for me. The free margaritas were awesome and the service was so wonderful.

    Tacos supreme

I am writing this review after having dined in once and getting takeout once. When we dined in, the service was pretty bad. Our order got mixed up and service was slow. Let's chalk that up to it being a new restaurant. Best thing about our first experience was the guacamole- it was delish. It is also accessible with a ramp to the entrance so that's great and the ambiance is fun too. Since I understand it takes time to get things running smoothly for a new restaurant, we decided to get takeout four months after our first experience. We ordered tacos supreme and the portions were quite sad. Literally so small- not much meat at all either. We have tried other locations and you can't even compare- same price but the portions vary drastically. We really wanted to have a better experience and were so excited to try this location. Unfortunately, we ended up feeling disappointed. The owner (I believe) seemed very nice, hard working, and accommodating though.

Walked in and the vibe was already a win, warm and inviting, the kind of place where you just relax right into the vibe, or head to the large bar and watch some World Cup action. Went for lunch. Service was on point too, attentive but never annoying about it. Friendly and had real suggestions when asked about faves. They brought out complimentary ceviche and honestly, incredible start. Fresh, acid balanced perfectly so you actually taste the fish, clean, instead of just lime juice and spice. And can we talk about the rice? Sounds basic, looked normie, but it was somehow the most flavorful part of the whole meal. This flavor bomb looked plain but IYKYK that this level of execution just looks simple. The rice alone will have you thinking about indulging your inner fat kid and ordering extra to take home. Like the dessert that you'll likely skip because the portions are filling. Ps. Get the flan! We went all in and ordered the seafood chimichanga, steak, shrimp fajitas, and guac on the side. Everything was cooked exactly right. Nice char on the grilled stuff, proteins juicy and tender, nothing dry, nothing overdone. The sauces were bright and punchy too, tasted like rich Mexican flavors with that fresh from the sea quality paired with exceptionally grilled seafood and tender meat. If you're anywhere near Montgomeryville and haven't been, fix that. This place deserves a crowd.

The waitress was very sweet, and brought us a second serving of ceviche with really crisp and fresh chips. They said they made them in house My husband ate the Mexican sushi - and declared it was some of the best sushi he's had in a long time. Honestly- it was deep fried. It doesn't take much to impress him. I loved their food- if we're ever in the area- we would go back!

We sat outdoors, service was fast and our server was friendly and accommodating. He recommended a few dishes and appetizers. The guacamole was fresh and homemade as were the tortilla chips. I will start off by saying, I am from California so my standards for Mexican are higher than most on the east coast. That said, Gran Rodeo showed up. Was it fancy? No. Was it the best Mexican food I've ever had? Also no. But what it was, was excellent. Solid food, great service, excellent quality of ingredients. The guacamole was fresh with the right balance of ingredients and a sizable portion. Since we were there for lunch, it was great to see that they actually had a lunch menu, a shortened with more specific options on the back of their already large and extensive menu. We ordered the lunch burrito bowl with chicken and steak and the lunch fajitas and both did not disappoint. A little smaller for the lunch portion, they both were still pretty substantial. The bowl was covered in the meat which was a pleasant surprise to what you normally see. On top of it all, the staff was lovely, attentive, and very helpful throughout our meal. All in all, solid meal and will be back.

We had looked online and found a restaurant that featured burgers. We were walking to it when we passed Cantina Feliz. It was busy (which I interpreted to be a good sign) and looked very inviting. We decided to change plans and try this Mexican restaurant instead! Of course I always start a meal at a Mexican restaurant with the guacamole. Our server recommended the Esquites Guacamole, which has grilled corn, lime aioli and a sprinkling of queso fresco (traditional Mexican cheese). It was one of the tastiest guacamole dishes I've ever had!! The grilled corn added such dimension and flavor - and the chips were warm - I think that was the first time I had warm chips - it made it extra special! For our entrees, we ordered the Grilled Shrimp Tacos and the Steak Fajita Tacos. The Grilled Shrimp tacos were excellent - large tender shrimp, with a corn salsa, avocado, peppers and a chipotle sauce on the side. I added a little of the Esquites Guacamole and enhanced the flavor even more! Next up, the Steak Fajitas. As soon as I had my first bite, I was disappointed....the steak was so tough and rubbery, there were pieces I couldn't swallow. We told the server and he said he would speak to the manager. They agreed to take the fajitas back and remove them from our bill. Our server was great. While it was unfortunate the steak fajitas were not good, it didn't diminish the fact we thoroughly enjoyed the other two dishes. We will definitely return to Cantina Feliz - however, we'll pass on the Steak Fajitas.
