My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on December 31, 2025, and it was such a great way to end the year. The decor is full of Frida Kahlo touches, exactly what you'd expect given the name. We arrived a little after they opened at 9 am and were greeted promptly. As soon as we sat down, we were welcomed with fresh chips and salsa. We hadn't been here in a while, but it was great to be back. In the past, we've ordered the huevos divorciados, which is outstanding. This time, we switched it up and tried the chorizo scramble and the Santa Fe breakfast burrito. Absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were very generous, so generous that we're getting to enjoy this breakfast again tomorrow. No complaints there. We'll definitely be back. FANTASTIC! Authentic. We popped on in for a quick lunch one day after shopping. We were seated rather quickly in some comfy booths. The staff were so helpful and kind. We held a few conversations from time to time. There were attentive throughout our time there. Now the food! Authentic, and very delicious. I ordered my normal, chicken fajitas. This is really not fair to the restaurant but i can't really evaluate the food properly since the delivery driver came well before the stated time which would have been great but he just left it on the porch without ringing the door bell so it sat for 35 minutes. I was about to call the restaurant to see where our order was when I checked our doorbell camera and saw some came up the steps 35 minutes before. So the food was cold and unappetizing. We were hoping for some decent Mexican based on the reviews and we will try again with pickup, not delivery or maybe even eat in but now the wife is dead set against Mexican food. This was the first stop after my flight landed to get some grub since I didn't really have breakfast or lunch. My friend suggested this place for good Mexican food. For someone born and raised in Arizona, I was very skeptical but pleasantly surprised at the quality of Mexican food, the friendly service, and the cute decor featuring Frida. The featured item on the board was Mango Haberno Wings with house-made sauce. These were amazing and even tasted great after putting in the fridge and eating the rest, as we ordered too much! Never go out when you are hungry hungry, or you over order to try a bunch of different items like we did. Haha. The cup of elote was pretty good as well. Might be something we skip next time, like the side of refried beans as the sides are pretty good and should just be decisive when ordering to pick one. Haha. Birria tacos are very tasty and a different take as they use lamb versus beef, which I've seen most places serve with. Loved the flavor of the consomé & the hot salsa makes it the perfect taco. Lastly, the chips didn't taste like they were made in house (store bought) but tasty nonetheless. I do wish they made them on property as there's nothing better than fresh tortilla chips and salsa to start the meal! Still a great meal and worth the visit! We love this restaurant! We always do takeout since hubs has mobility issues. Food is always ready on time and everyone is always polite and smiling. The portions are just right, and the Tres Leches dessert is wonderful! We take out at least 2x per month, and we have tried something from each menu category. Yum! The quesabirra was phenomenal and was served with guac, sour cream, birra sauce and hot sauce. The lamb was so juicy and flavorful. Highly recommend. The pork tamale was a bit dry, but was smothered in a delicious sauce that made up for it. We came during a weekday lunch. There was one other table beside us and a few takeout orders. I ordered 2 Fridas Taco Supreme $4.50 1 Shrimp Taco Platter $16.25 2 Street Tacos $7.50 I'm not a big fan of cilantro, but the food was really good with a nice presentation for being delivered, lol. My partner had the shrimp ceviche and the las Fridas Taco. I had the chicken mole. For a strip mall restaurant, this was surprisingly good food! The mole was just right and the taco was excellent. The servers were very attentive even though we were close to closing time on a Tuesday night. We sat at the only outdoor table and it was very nice until the timer turned on the strip mall's fluorescent lights. It's a BYOB and we brought some Prosecco to celebrate a business victory. Everything was great! Two of my girlfriends and I had a girl's lunch. We sat there forever and laughed, talked, and ate!!! The guacamole was great. You can get it without cilantro, which I prefer. The chicken tortilla soup is excellent. Couldn't be better. The hard shell tacos were also fabulous. Just everything was perfect. Our waitress was attentive but gave us space. What a delightful surprise!! The hidden gem was the chicken tortilla soup. It was chock full of savory flavors and ate like a stew. I had shrimp tacos accompanied by well prepared refried beans. My companion had the carne asada entree with black beans, rice and homemade french fries. Both dishes were tasty and generously portioned.
