Bacalar is such a gem, and this art studio and restaurant is just a reflection of it. The juices & food are fresh to order, delicious, healthy and unique to say the least. I came twice during our trip and tried the Mayan omelette which had beans on the side, and pumpkin seeds on top, There was some dry toppers inside the omelette which I couldn't figure what it was but good! Also the orchard soup was made of spices, carrot, kale, and other vegetables with a side of avocado toast which was also delicious. There's a lot to look at because it's a local art studio and souvenir shop. Definitely check out the goodies on the way out!. read more

Really enjoyed this place and the really cool environment. As you come in there are crafts and so on for sale with the eating area out back in a tropical setting. I would give this place five stars for the food but the service very slow. They were really crowded the day we ate here but took two hours from when we arrived to pay. I ordered the BLT. The sandwich on sourdough bread with an egg was delicious. My wife ordered the vegetable omelette with bacon, and another got the molletes with bacon. We love this place! We visit every time we come to Bacalar. We tend to always order the chilaquiles and then try something new! I recomend the green juice to accompany the chilaquiles. Though we loved the burger we will probably not be ordering it again. Service is always amazing and friendly. read more

Hole in the wall....delicious food and great service. Everyone is friendly, but most importantly organized. We came here for brunch, ordered the chilaquiles and coconut pancakes. Delicious. They have a store inside and a nice outdoor sitting area if you want to sit amongst greenery and bees. We loved the ambiance of this place. read more

Great breakfast/brunch spot with a lovely garden, gallery, and shop. I came here twice during my stay in Bacalar. The first visit I had order of Vegan Cacao and Honey Hot Cakes. Too sweet for me and I'm not big on hot cakes/pancakes anyway. On my second visit, I had the Manatí Chilaquiles with red sauce. Flavors were on point and I would go back to enjoy that dish again. Cute restaurant for breakfast. Food - 3 stars Service - 5 stars Everything Bacalar lacks in breakfast food it makes up with lunch and dinner... but this is one of the better spots. This place has to be one of the trendiest spots around here. They took forever for our drinks to get to our table, the to top it off the server was rude when she did bring them. We ordered the some type of bread with cheese and scrambled eggs with ham, chilaquiles, BLT and pancakes. In general the food was okay, nothing special. Our server that took our order was very nice. The interior place of this restaurant is spacious and cute patio. I personally would not recommend this place, I'd say keep exploring other restaurants. read more

El Manatí is a gastrolounge, gallery, and boutique. They sell locally made tinctures, creams, clothes, towels, bags, and coffee. They also manage an eco-sail-boat-tour that has an electric motor and takes you to all the main sights on the lagoon like the cenotes, the bird island, and the Pirate canal. The restaurant offers many options for vegans, vegetarians, and gluten sensitive folks. Both my husband and I can eat here and walk out absolutely pleased and satisfied; himself a meat eater and myself an extreme healthnut-vegan-with allergies. My favorite dish so far, has been their Enmoladas with jamaica (hibiscus) flowers, potato, and chaya. I ordered black beans on the side to complete the vegan protein.Their mole negro is made in-house. All their juices are fresh and delicious, and their egg dishes are superbly presented and put together as well. My husband's favorite omelette was the Mayan omelette with zucchini, potato, chaya, and pepitas. Their Mocha latte with coconut milk, no sugar added, was just like I would make it at home, but even better. We've been going to El Manatí for breakfast every day since we arrived. We are totally attached to our waitress, Fatima. She is so tolerant with me especially, with all my food allergy questions, and she is so kind and joyful to work with. The manager Anna-Karen is always here and ready to assist with any questions or special needs. read more

It was delicious. We got Molletes with eggs, very good. Large plate. The banana bread with turmeric was kind of odd. The ice cream they gave us with it is more like sour sorbet, not creamy dairy. But the ceviche tostada was so delicious. The place was fun with shaded outdoor seating in the back with lots of greenery, swings, art murals. I'd recommend it! read more

Great spot!!! Went there on our last day in Bacalar and I'm so glad we did. Excellent food!!! I've been into juices and had their mango mixed juice and it was the best juice I've ever tasted! The whole place is adorable and they sell fantastic art. I'll definitely be having breakfast and lunch there again when we go back. Staff was so inviting and took cool photos of my friend and I. Bacalar in general was neat hipster and relaxed place to get food. Along with the food came amazing employers that were more than willing to talk to you about their culture. I definitely recommend the BLT's, they are delicious! Right when you walk in you can feel the fresh vibe. There are hand made crafts that you can buy.
