This is definitely a Mexican restaurant. The decor was very inviting. The waitstaff greeted us as soon as we walked in. The bartender made me an awesome el presidente margarita. We came by 2 times while staying in Cape Cod for 4 days. We sat at the bar both times. We tied their combo with tostada; chimichanga, taco and burrito. We tried Pacifico beer which was great. Then we tried their house margarita; an ultimate margarita and a watermelon margarita. We didn't like the watermelon one because the flavoring was too fake. The house margarita is super sweet so not the greatest. Their ultimate margarita was the best. I absolutely loved their churros. Ambient was nice. And everything was cleaned. 3.5 Stars, but rounding up. My husband and I went in for an early dinner on a rainy day while we were on vacation on the Cape. Parking was easy; they have a good-sized lot behind the building. Inside the building is your typical Mexican theme, bright colors, sombreros, etc. I got a margarita that was way too sweet and too big. I couldn't finish it; I could barely taste the tequila in it. Next time, I would probably skip those; they don't seem worth it. For food, we got the sampler appetizer platter, which was generous with all of the food. It came with nachos, taquitos, chicken wings, and a cheese quesadilla. The nachos and taquitos were good, and the chicken wings were surprisingly my favorite! Who would have thought a Mexican place would deliver yummy wings? The quesadilla wasn't really memorable on that platter. We will be back to try more! read more

I sat at the bar on a Wednesday for dinner. Service is super fast. The food is excellent. They immediately served me complimentary chips, homemade salsa, and a warm bean dip. The salsa comes in a mini carafe that you pour from. I had the combo with a pork enchilada and a shredded beef taco. It came with shredded lettuce, cheese and chopped tomatoes along with beans and rice. Very large portion and excellent value. Plenty of parking in the attached lot. Very few gf options. Not fun watching my husband eat the chips that were fried with all the flour tortillas. He said the salsa was very bland. I would have liked the taquitos marked gf, but I'm not sure how that's possible with cross contaminated in the fryer! That just didn't give me a lot of confidence in their gf indicator on the menu. The server did point out what she thought I could eat. We split the Enchilada Suiza with chicken, which was delish! My Paloma was good. Took a long time to get water. If I could, I would give NO STARS. Worst food ever. They made a plate, microwaved it and tried to pass it off as a meal. Cheese Enchilada tasted rancid. Rice was old and dry. Oh boy where do I begin? I have ordered from here a few times and I can't believe that I haven't written a review. The first time was, I believe, thanksgiving weekend 2022. I couldn't believe the size of the dishes we received. I remember being pleased with our order at that time. We have ordered a few more times since then. One of my issues is the inability to make any requests on the app. They also have many dishes that require you to choose a meat and as a vegetarian, that is super frustrating. There isn't any other Mexican worth giving a dime if reviews are to believed so we've been stuck ordering from this place. The few other times we've ordered have been satisfactory. I will say that their queso is SOLID. It has some heat and the consistency is pretty good. It's pretty spank in the middle of liquid and solid but not too runny that it drips all over you in the interim between lifting the chip from the queso surface and entering the orifice of your mouth. that's pretty much it when it comes to positives. The chips were stale. I ordered vegetable enchiladas, GF ordered spinach enchiladas. The vegetables were, and I am absolutely certain of this, that frozen blend of carrots and cauliflower. that is IT. Those were "the vegetables". They were terrible. You don't have any fresh vegetables? A Mexican RESTAURANT? Seriously? Holy shit. It was pathetic. The rice and beans were ice cold. The beans were flavorless. So there are so many restaurants on Cape Cod but they all have the same menu. Fried clams, lobster roll, clam chowder. That's great but variety is the spice of life, right. This Mexican restaurant is a great addition for a change of pace. For me I love it. The food is simple ingredients cooked fresh and delicious. If you like margarita's you will be in tequila heaven. They are the largest drinks I have every had. These are not a premixed drink. Again great ingredients mixed they way you like it. The food is delivered quickly and steaming hot. It you like hot sauce ask for their homemade sauce. Quite hot but again simple ingredients blended to perfection. Sorry I didn't take pictures of the food. I was preoccupied with my deliciously large skinny jalapeño margarita. We had fajitas, cheese and spinach enchiladas, chili rellenos. Family Resturant with kind genuine people. We tried to visit on a Thursday evening at 9:07pm. Their website states they are open until 10pm daily. We walked in and they refused to seat us stating they were closed, but there was half a bar of people drinking. Too bad I won't return. We had to go to a chain and not support local. read more

Even on the Cape, this Texan must find good Mexican, so I was happy to find El Mariachi while leaving Hyannis on a recent visit. We stopped in for a quick lunch at their bar. While service was obviously a little overwhelmed and slow, the margaritas, chips, queso, and guacamole were all decent. I was also pleased to find my favorite dish, chiles rellenos, on the menu, and made for a nice and unexpected taste of home. read more

My husband and I decided to take the chance with this restaurant on our honey moon last week despite the reviews being very half and half, and we are so glad we did. It seems they get pretty busy so it was a 30 minute wait but that was fine. Our waitress was very nice and fast. I got a pina colada (was strong because I was tipsy after 1 glass and it didnt taste strong so hell yeah to that ) my husband had a mojito and he said it needed a little more sugar but other than that it was good. I had the chicken and cheese quesadilla and my husband had the 3 enchiladas with different sauces. He loved his and ate the entire plate. He was very satisfied with the molé sauce. I ate my entire plate as well and thought it was very delicious. The chips were good and so was the salsa. The brown beans salsa dip was wayyyyy too spicy for me but my husband liked it. It is a pity that a fellow "yelper" created a yelp account with only one star just to trash this place. I'd have to question their in-depth knowledge of "authenticity" and Mexican cuisine, since my sis-in-law is born and raised in Nogales and one of my besties is from Chiapas. And now that grannie has gotten that off her chinny chin chins, she moves on to what you REALLY want to hear. Should I eat here? Answer is yes! Why? SOOOOO... can you expect authenticity in a touristy area. ABSOLUTELY... NOT. Was I? NO. HELL NO. Its not what you go to Mexican restaurants for in New England. Get real people. If you want authentic, buy a ticket and visit Monte Rey. Jeeze. More tex mex/americanized version of some mexican-ish favorites. The rice is NOT like Asian fried rice as a yelper with only one one star review claims. It is very much Mexican-style rice, fluffy, flavorful and a HUGE portion. And that is the point. Lotsa food for the money, and tasty/edible/good food for the dough. My husband's chimichanga was almost as long as a football and not yearning for the steak - which was tender, juicy and PLENTIFUL. With refried and rice. Great portion, great taste. My buddies "Oceana" burrito is a Cape-Cod meets Mexican-ish monster dish (its the Hulk of burritos), chock full'o seafood - crab, scallops and shrimp, ditto for his wifey/my sistah's seafood enchiladas. I went with the mole y pollo enchiladas - spot on (in their Maria mix way, definitely not made from scratch, but I don't make mine from scratch either... Maria is good enough!), other than the mole was a tad sweeter than a Puebla-worthy mole should be. That said, it was delicious, maybe more broth, more rehydrated and whipped up ancho chile and a bit more cacahuate (peanuts for you experts who "know" mexican food) - maybe. Otherwise, don't touch it. It was still good. Plenty of freshly fried and hot, crispy and delicious chips and salsa. I'm not a fan of house margaritas ANYWHERE - they are recipes for a bad hangover, but the table enjoyed them. Merengue blasting when you walk in to "Grupo Mania" anyone? YEAH! Double YEA! Lovely service and as far as "Mexican-ish" goes, nice lil spot. "Fast food" that isn't too fast, too slow, just right. Have a craving for Mexican food? Just do it. We have picked up take out a few times but we decided to dine in for the first time over the Memorial Day weekend. When you walk in you are met with a good size bar with a step down dining area. Both sides were decorated rather nicely and colorfully in the Mexican restaurant style. After a few minutes of the hostess dealing with delivery pickups we were seated in a booth in the dining area looking out at the famous Route 28, which was surprisingly not bumper to bumper traffic. We were provided with homemade chips, salsa, and a bean dip while we ordered our drinks. Our only complaint was the salsa was watery and a bit bland. My wonderful wife ordered a margarita on the rocks no salt while I ordered a Modelo draft. They had several options for margaritas (the special was a watermelon) and a good selection of beer, both American and Mexican. My sensational wife ordered a ground beef chimichanga with chili con queso sauce. It was presented with rice and refried beans in a tortilla chip cup. She gave it two thumbs up. I ordered a ground beef Arre Burrito stuffed with rice (not smothered as the menu said) and topped with a reddish brown enchilada sauce that was very good and some sprinkles of fresco. It came with a dollop of sour cream and a dollop of guacamole (can other items come in dollops or is that just for sour cream?). Despite the lack of cheese (I'm striking out on cheese on burritos lately) and only a small amount of ground beef it was still pretty good. Next time I'll try the chili Colorado version and hopefully get more meat. I also asked for homemade hot sauce/salsa and the waiter brought me a habanero concoction that was very good with a good amount of kick. All in all pretty good food and we will try again next time we're in the area. read more

I used to go once every 2 weeks.... but things have changed. The servers are really nice, but the food has changed. My favorite is the chicken fajitas and Steak Tacos. Chicken is cheap and tough...no taste and the steak is dry and not tender. The platter would come out sizzling hot and loaded, and it was delicious. Please spend a little more and upgrade the quality of chicken and steak. It shows your buying cheaper. Id rather pay more and get better product. read more

Our server Julia was lovely! We were seated immediately and within minutes had our drinks and chips. We ordered a quesadilla and shrimp fajita. Both were good! Shrimp was particularly well done! Nice change from the typical seafood so abundant on the Cape. We enjoyed eating outside even with the traffic noise. read more

My husband & I visited El Mariachi on Sun evening. To be honest some of these reviews made us think twice but it was walking distance from our hotel. The ability to have a drink(s) & not drive won out. I am so glad we decided to go & form our own opinion! For those with Covid procedure concerns - There was outdoor & indoor seating with everyone spaced comfortable distances apart. No availability's outside so we sat indoors. Every other booth was left empty. Paper menus given for sanitary purpose. Every staff member we saw wore a properly fitting face mask. Our waiter promptly brought us salsa & chips & took our drink orders, followed by dinner order. The food & drinks were served promptly. I ordered the Carne Asada. My skirt steak was tender & I loved the guacamole as well as the brown beans served in a tortilla chip dish. My husband had the Snapper Huapango. The portions were large so he gladly let me try his dish. (small portions & his thoughts are if you wanted it then order it LOL). The fish was moist & the creamy shrimp sauce delicious! Reminded me of a Newburgh sauce. His roasted potato slices very tasty & a bit different than usual presentation. Our waiter was amazing! He checked in on us often, refilling drinks as needed & just an overall nice guy. I read a comment where someone felt "white people" were treated better than them because they were Hispanic. While I really don't see the logic in that thinking at a Mexican restaurant I will just say a Hispanic family was opposite my table & I faced them as they ate. They also received wonderful attentive service, were all having a great time & appeared to be speaking warmly to the waiter. So, if another felt that way I didn't see if as the norm when we visited. Like everyone, me and the fam came to vacation in Cape Cod. We've been here for about 4 days, so no surprises that this place is a little more expensive than the average Mexican restaurant. No biggie. The food was actually pretty good - we sampled a wide range of the menu, from kids meal (chicken tenders) to seafood enchiladas, grilled fish tacos, chimichanga, and carne asada. Also got the queso dip and a selection of alcoholic beverages. The good: The alcoholic drinks were on point. Everyone enjoyed them, wife made a best ever comment and the tequila was not skimped on. Other family members enjoyed their drinks. Food was tasty! No complaints about anything tasting off. Everything got smashed. The bad: That refill service. As the sole teetotaler drinking a diet Pepsi, why did I have to ask for every refill? Not trying to be a dick, but come on. One time I asked for a drink refill and the waitress forgot. It wasn't like the restaurant was slam packed - we came a week before Memorial Day on a Tuesday, so the place was nowhere near full. The next ding was consistency. Everyone gets a scoop of refried beans in little chip shell. Except for you, seafood enchilada! You get half a plate of refried beans, Lake Beanditto with an enchilada island. The other half is the Republic of Riceland. Everyone at the table gets a scoop of Mexican rice. Except for you, fish tacos! You get white rice. Why? We don't know. Chips brought out had the bitter taste of being over cooked. Why serve them if you can eat one chip from the batch and tell? The salsa was Ok but super runny. The queso dip.. I could have slurped the queso dip through a cocktail straw it was so thin. Very tasty, but everyone trying to chip it out of the bowl and leaving a line of watery cheese drips was not cool. Wrap up: Other than the consistency pretty good. I'd try it again. Not bad, unless you are drinking non-alcoholic beverages. Then just bring a cooler. read more

We come to the cape every summer, and every time we drive by this place it is full of people inside and out. Usually we're strictly seafood on vacation but decided to try something else this time- and this place was great! We did takeout- and got the spinach enchiladas, seafood enchiladas and salads- and the takeout comes with a HUGE bag of chips and salsa too. We all enjoyed and next time we'll go for dining there with a fresh margarita yum! The inside is super cute, much more than we expected from just driving by. Salsa was basically cilantro water, refried beans where thin, rice was passable, enchiladas tasted just of corn tortilla with ground beef that was soggy and had no spices.
