My devoted "mug club" friends that used to meet weekly at Cape Cod Beer introduced me to this fantastic new spot in their rotation. Wow, am I impressed! I met the brewmaster / owner, Brian, friendly and he sure knows his stuff. The quality he is producing in this tiny location is exceptional. I started with the Norm Ale, like normal ...get it? I love the play on names they come up with like Buttah Beer. The Norm Ale is pale but not lacking color, it's so caramel creamy, biscuit smooth. Just delicious, no bitter bite to this beauty. And I really appreciate the lack of fizziness too, that's so unlike American beer. I followed that with the Riley Red. Think Killarney Irish red ale and that's what this delivers. An excellent example of a red with colored hues, it's tasting brighter, light malty, and rich. And because it's October I rounded off by tasting the Oaktober Fest. (Oak Bay October fest) my buddy Wayne loves this one, especially in his fancy German stein they so nicely agreed to fill for him. This seasonal ale is tasty modestly spiced medium malt season, not too hoppy, it's beautiful. The Brit/ Irish style that Brian is producing, less carbonated & fizzy, which I really liked about the ales. You don't go home with a bloated stomach. Lucky for us it is Oktoberfest and they were cooking up beer-soaked bratwurst with sauerkraut and German pretzel hot baked out of the toaster oven $11. A perfect accompaniment to the ales. I genuinely feel these are the best beers being made on Cape Cod, and beyond. Get over to Oak Bay Brewery and try for yourself what I'm convinced of! Cheers Note: Parking is best in the back of the building and come on to main street from alley beside Tumi restaurant.

Great people, very good beer and a pleasant place to kick back. Chips/Dip and Hotdogs are the bulk of the menu but they dress them up nicely! The "Comet" Whit beer was excellent while we played a game of Pitch and a quick round of Rock'em Sock'em Robots Stop in - you won't be disappointed!!

The inside of the brewery is very nice and unpretentious with a lot of seating, and they also have a large outdoor patio with tons of Adirondack chairs and a few picnic tables. The beer was very good. We tried a couple IPAs, a coconut porter, a barleywine, and a maibock. The barleywine was on nitro which was surprising, but it was actually really lovely. Definitely stop in for a few beers and a laid back vibe!

For me, that added a little bit of fun and charm to Barnstable Brewing. That is, as long as you also remember to put out good beer, which they do (I certainly wouldn't want "Wicked Bland" beer). I enjoyed my Porter - oops, excuse me, PORTAH - but I if were ordering a flight or at least a second pour, it would have been that coffee blonde ale, unique and distinctive. The brewery is also dog friendly with food trucks outside. Seating is at the bar, high tables, and an area with sofas in the corner. Over the past few years, there's been a growing number of breweries on the Cape. This is one you should consider.

The chef and his team should get a Michelin star for such a well prepared, incredibly tasteful meal that was presented by an extremely attentive wait staff ( thank you Kareem). The interior is pretty basic, small tables and small chairs, so a person of substance such as myself didn't find the seating comfortable. I tried: - French onion soup: this should have been an easy win. I found the Gruyere cheese to be overly thick, and the broth to be heavy handed on the wine. - Steak tartare: this was a good dish. The beef was thin cut, smooth, and the egg was cooked just right so the yolk added richness that then got offset by the capers. Due to the richness, you may actually find that this could be all you need for a meal, despite it looking small. - Croque Madame: le sigh, what a failure this sandwich was. Over easy egg? Not today, over medium, so not much runny yolk but a thicker one. This is a gigantic salt bomb, in addition. They serve your water in tiny glasses and every bite led to downing an entire glass of water. It's good they were on top of refilling the glasses, but even then I finished a quarter of this before I couldn't take it any more. I did saunter over to the counter where they have a lot of good looking pastries, so we'll see if the ones I bought end up redeeming this place. As it stands, I can't recommend this establishment unless you'd like to try the tartare.
