    Mango salsa, tilapia
    Danny M.

Came in at 6:00 and was seated immediately. As I was checking out the menu my waiter asked if I needed a couple of minutes, boy did he ever mine a couple! He kept coming back every two to three minutes and finally after the third time I was ready. I had the mango tilapia and he said it was spicy and asked if that was ok. Well, I have eaten two-thirds of it and have not noticed any excessive spiciness. The sitting is just like any of El Nopal's restaurants, authentic, looking and festive. There was plenty of room for many people.

    Great enchiladas!

Great food, excellent service. Food is always hot and fresh. Facilities are the cleanest I've ever seen!

Great night before Valentine's Day. We got the pork chops dinner special. Two THICK pork chops w/rice and beans, tomatilla sauce, and tortillas (per person).. buy one for $16, other discounted $7. Roughly $12.50 each. SO worth it!!

Stopped at El Nopal off the beaten path coming home from a weekend at Lake Rudolph. Typical El Nopal experience- quick and reliable Mexican food.

Typical Mexican restaurant. Quite busy on a Tuesday night around 7:30. We had a few minute wait. I rated a four because I wasn't too impressed, nor was I unimpressed. Chips and salsa. Lots of queso! Tuesday night special... buy one, get one free Gold margaritas. However - you must have them on the rocks. No frozen!

Great Service & always feels welcoming. Sometimes they mess up on orders but even the mess ups taste good!

It had been quite a while since our last visit, but we were nearby and decided to stop for lunch…read more La Lupita remains frozen in time, same '60's vibe with laminate tables, wood paneling and paper decorations. But I felt La Lupita had slipped a bit. Initial service was excellent, we were greeted and seated promptly. Drinks were served and our order was taken. But once the food was brought to the table, our server was nowhere to be found. Refill for ice tea? Nope. We ordered one set of corn and one set of flour tortillas and got two orders of corn. It took us quite a while to find the server to get the error corrected. The complementary chips and salsa were way off. The chips were stale and they switched to a green salsa. Admittedly, a personal preference, but I liked the red better. My wife enjoyed her usual- camarones Mexicano. Served sizzling and perfectly done. I don't recall the mixed fajitas (my usual) as being so greasy. Again, served hot. Lots of peppers, onions, & grilled tomatoes. No jalapeños. I could have asked for some as a side and I'm sure they would accommodate. I also found it odd that La Lupita doesn't offer any beans other than refried. We asked for black beans or pinto or borracho. They're not offered. Yet they were able to serve refried black beans instead of the usual borracho or pinto refried version. Prices, inevitably, were up since our last visit. La Lupita is still a favorite for authentic Mexican food. We just caught them on an off day and it was still way ahead of most Mexican restaurants.
