Customer service was on point! I'm new to the area and I've been looking for a good mexican restaurant and saw this place pop up on my maps because it had higher ratings. I decided to call and the gentleman who answered the phone was so patient and kind, I had quite a few questions and he took his time to explain the menu and find out what I like so that they could accommodate me. I really appreciated that! Now, I'll be honest I'm not a huge fan of authentic Mexican food, I've been to Mexico and I've had the "real deal" but unfortunately being from America, most of the Mexican food is Americanized so enchiladas are usually my go to! Unfortunately they don't make them the Tex Mex way but he suggested he could make them for me. Quite pricey and I will give an A for effort but they lacked so much flavor! The chicken was bland and there wasn't any cheese on top, I was really sad because I spent $17 + 20% tip and I wasn't satisfied. But although I wasn't satisfied with the food, the customer service blew me away! He even let me sample some of the drinks they had up front, the fermented pineapple juice was super tasty and not something I'd expect to find there but definitely good. I'd recommend you give them a shot if you're in the area, it's a cute little place with awesome service and the food is authentic(if you like the "real deal") they don't even serve chips and salsa lol only chips and beans he mentioned. I probably won't be back because let's face it, I'm a Tex Mex kind of girl but I'm happy they tried to satisfy my taste buds!

The service was amazing! The shrimp taco, delicious. The margarita Wednesday was a great deal. All together would come back any day anytime.

    Receipts of order

Let me start by saying i love Mexican food. Upon arriving there they greeted us and told us to sit wherever we wanted. Which was okay because they're was not another soul there besides the workers. I asked her if it was taco Tuesday and she replied yes. On line I had read they were 1.99 on Tuesday. So I mentioned that. First off, they do not have just regular seasoned beef. Which i questioned. So I ordered chicken tacos. She asked with everything and I answered yes, lettuce tomato. She says o no, only cilantro and onions are on there. I. Well we're already here now. So what to drink? I asked, do you have fresh sweet tea. O yes. She brings me a bottle of gold peak sweet tea. I, once again we're already there. I asked about salsa and chips and she started o yes and brought us refried beans and chips. No salsa. We ate, went to pay and it was 3.00 per taco. I asked about the special and she said no, 3$. I questioned that to which the response i could not understand. We ordered 7 tacos, 1 large beer and a tea. It was 33.90. Wow. Okay. So i go to pay and it was a total of 34.92. They charge if you use a card. I do not recommend this place. The food was okay, not something i would eat a second time. said with everything i said

Cool little spot, a young fellow and lady were running the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon when I visited. We were the only patrons. Instantly greeted and we chose our seats. The gave us the menu explained there is no option for water only bottled beverages or in house made drinks. They brought over a small ornate bowl of bean dip and some fresh tortilla chips. We ordered two entrees to share. The "machete "quesadilla which seemed to be a signature dish and a carnitas burrito. Two bottles of sauce arrived at the table spicy green guacamole sauce and a red standard sauce .. no typical Americanized style salsa available. For drinks I chose the passion fruit soft drink, wife got the in house rice water both were tasty. The carnitas burrito was good the pork was cooked well, beans, rice and cheese inside, verde sauce covered the flour tortilla it was quite mushy.. but overall it's a decent dish. The chicken machete was a unique experience with a "homemade" corn tortilla that had a thick layer of masa the texture not unlike a tamale. The chicken was chopped up into little chunks and cooked with cheese and lots of red onions and cilantro. Truth is it was a bit of a mess and a bear to eat, it was huge, Tasted okay. In the end Taquero Mucho was a unique experience with the food to match. Our two items with a drink each plus tip brought the bill to around fifty dollars. Definitely a bit pricey. oh and there's a dollar fiftyish charge for credit cards . All in all pretty cool place to try but probably won't be a regular haunt for us.

If you're an OG from Okolona or Highview, then you know this to be the same location of Villa Romano from way back. This is is a small and nice Mexican restaurant with a great menu variety. The menu is in Spanish but understandable with basic information. We had great and friendly service. Like in many countries, they don't serve tap water. They do serve complimentary warm chips and a tasty bean dip. We ordered the guacamole and it was very fresh and chunky. It was gone before I could snap a photo. My husband got the huarache - big enough to share. My poblano relleno was fantastic. It came with rice and beans and the batter was eggy and good. It also was served with HANDMADE tortillas. Such an unexpected treat! There is a very spicy green salsa and a medium smoky red salsa that they also bring to the table. I can't wait to go back and try something else.

Taquero Mucho is a Mexican eatery located in a small shopping center just off outer loop right near the okolona/highview borderline of Louisville Kentucky. Very small and tiny space but they do have some limited indoor seating here. I stopped in here for lunch with my 14 year old and 2 year old after grabbing the oldest from her school. We wanted Mexican and was heading to our usual spot across the street from this place when we noticed a new place and decided to give it a shot. Our service here was very good. Our waitress was very nice and Accommodating and kept our glasses full. Like most Mexican establishments you do receive complementary chips and salsa. However instead of a salsa you get a bean dip type dish here. The establishment did have bottled salsa as well but the main dish/bowl was a bean dip. The chips and bean dip were actually really good. I was mildly skeptical as I'm a big salsa guy but it was a cool and unique take on a normal Mexican eatery staple. For our entrees I personally went with the Chicken burrito covered with queso. My oldest went with a couple steak tacos and the two year old got a kids cheese sticks. My burrito was solid. Pretty standard tasting burrito. The queso wasn't the greatest. Nice and thick but kinda had a plain Jane flavor to it. My oldest enjoyed her steak tacos and said they were good. The kids cheese sticks was actually quite a bit of substance and the two year old happily devoured them. So not complaints from her. Overall cool little eatery. I'm always down to try and explore New Mexican restaurant. So it is nice to see one pop up on the nearby area. The bean dip and chips is a unique touch and makes them stand out and memorable. Food is solid to average from our experience. Worth checking out if you are in the area and enjoy Mexican food.

Absolutely fabulous and fresh Mexican fare. Better than we have had in quite some time and we consider ourselves foodies. The manager even took his time to explain every dish and his personal recommendations. My girlfriend had the carnitas Machete and I had the most amazing beef tongue dish (lengua huarache). 10 out of 10 for both. The black bean empanadas and fresh guacamole were on point as well!! Please support this small business and give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Tinos Torta... Yes that is hot dogs. Weird you say? Sure.. Delicious with it, heck yeah.

What a hidden gem. We love visiting authentic Mexican joints and we stopped by this place on a whim. The staff were super friendly and quick. The portions were great. I was excited to see that they had items that I can't find any where else such as Tlayuda which is similar in my opinion to a Navajo Taco which I cannot find anywhere in Kentucky until this place. I love that instead of giving you complimentary chips and salsa, they give you chips and bean dip. The chips were warm and fresh, as was the black bean dip. We ordered the chorizo queso which was perfection. My husband ordered the Tinos Torta and my God this was massive. It was literally a loaf of bread with every meat under the sun on it (see pictures). He was in heaven. I ordered the Quesabirria and I will have to say that the consome was the second best that I've had. First being this little Taco joint in Williams, Arizona. We both had leftovers for dinner which did not disappoint. I'm actually nervous to brag about how great this place is because I want to keep it to myself. But alas, they deserve the business. We will be back.

We started off with a few appetizers to share between four of us, and they were actually really interesting. I tried this crab cake that had what tasted like another type of crab cake inside of it -- I've never had anything like that before, but it was really good and definitely unique. The honey barbecue wings though? Those were TO DIE FOR. Easily one of my favorite things we ordered. The hushpuppies, on the other hand, were small and pretty mid -- definitely something I could've done without. For the main, we went with the seafood deal, which came out to about $163, and honestly it was still a solid value for how much food you get. It included about a pound each of two different types of crab, two pounds of shrimp, a pound of sausage, corn, potatoes, and two lobsters. And let me tell you -- those lobsters were so juicy and meaty. I've never had lobster like that before. Easily one of the highlights of the whole meal. Just a heads up -- it does not come with eggs, which we didn't realize until we were already eating, so definitely add that if you want it. We got the Cajun seasoning with a hot level, and it was SO good. I learned their house Cajun is basically a mix of all their seasonings, which makes sense because the flavor was hitting. Everything came out super hot and fresh, and we even had leftovers. They say it feeds 4-6 people, but realistically, I'd say it's perfect for about 4 people if you're actually hungry. Drinks were also a highlight. They have $5 lemon drops specifically on Thursdays, which is a great deal. The mango lemon drop was AMAZING -- hands down the best flavor. The passionfruit and strawberry didn't hit the same for me, and just a heads up, some flavors cost an extra dollar, which we weren't told upfront. But I will say -- after a mango and a passionfruit one, it definitely hit. Service overall was good, and you honestly couldn't tell our server was new, but we did have one issue -- we asked multiple times for eggs and they were forgotten. Between the missing add-on, the inconsistency with some of the lemon drop flavors, and that small service slip, it was enough for me to knock off a star. That said, the food, portions, and overall experience were still really strong.

The reviews complimented the food, service and atmosphere so we gave it a try and we were glad we did! We walked into to a classic sports bar that had old school sports bar character. The staff immediately greeted us and promptly led us to our table. The menu is large and varied. One surprise was that they had lobster bisque- we all ordered that as an appetizer. My son ordered wings with fries and coleslaw and my wife and I ordered potato skins. The bisque was very good. When they brought out the rest of the order, we were pleasantly surprised at the size of the buffalo wings. For some reason, so many restaurants have turned to serving miniature, anemic chicken wings thinking the customer doesn't care. Bungalow Joes is one of the rare places to serve legitimate chicken wings and legs. They were huge and delicious!!! The potato skins were smaller but full of flavor. The coleslaw was a winner- they called it Caribbean coleslaw and described it as sweeter than typical coleslaw. The coleslaw was sweeter and my son and wife loved it. The fires were good, as well. All in all, we had a great lunch at Bungalow Joe's. Our waitress was great, the food was legit and the atmosphere was perfect for a sports bar. The wings ensured that we will be back.
