This is the location at Parker Rd in Plano Tx. I usually only take the time to write a restaurant review when a place completely exceeds my expectations. El Paisa has done exactly that. I've now had several different meals here, and every single visit has reinforced why I'll keep coming back. The caldo de res is one of the best bowls I've ever had. The broth is rich, comforting, and tastes like it has been simmering all day. The vegetables are cooked perfectly, and the beef is incredibly tender. What really impressed me is how generous they are with the meat. You're not digging through the bowl hoping to find another piece--they give you plenty. You absolutely get your money's worth. The pozole completely won me over. The broth is deep, rich, and full of flavor, and once you add the lime, oregano, cabbage, radishes, and avocado, it becomes something truly special. Just like the caldo de res, they are very generous with the pork. There is meat in every bite, and the portions are outstanding. This has quickly become one of my favorite comfort foods. The sour cream chicken enchiladas deserve a special mention. I love my enchiladas absolutely swimming in sour cream sauce. The first time they came out, they weren't quite as saucy as I personally like. I politely took them back, explained exactly what I was looking for, and without hesitation they remade them on the spot exactly the way I wanted. They didn't make me feel like I was being difficult. They simply wanted me to enjoy my meal, and they absolutely nailed it. That's customer service. Then I tried the flautas, and I can honestly say they are the best flautas I've ever had. Perfectly crispy, generously filled with flavorful meat, topped with melted white cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and served with sour cream, guacamole, rice, and refried beans. Every single component of that plate was excellent. The only thing I'll do differently next time is ask for the lettuce and tomatoes on the side so the flautas stay extra crispy. That's simply my personal preference--the food itself was phenomenal. I also want to recognize the people who work here. As a Black woman, I pay attention to how I'm treated when I walk into a business. From my very first visit, I have felt genuinely welcomed here. Every interaction has been warm, respectful, and courteous. I've watched them interact with other customers as well, and everyone seems to be treated with the same kindness and hospitality. It feels like you're being welcomed into someone's home instead of simply walking into a restaurant. If you're wondering whether you'll feel comfortable dining here, my experience has been an emphatic yes. Now, if I could leave a small wish list in the suggestion box, it would simply be because I enjoy this place so much. * Please consider adding sopa de fideo. Based on everything I've tasted here, I honestly think you would absolutely nail it. * I'd love to see a traditional picadillo (seasoned ground beef) option for crispy tacos. I think it would be a huge hit. * I wish takeout customers had the option to enjoy the fresh salsa bar. Even if there were a small additional charge, I'd gladly pay it because it's that good. * And this one is purely personal preference: I'd love to have the option of shredded cheese on the nachos instead of queso sauce. I know plenty of people love queso, but I'm a shredded-cheese person. None of those wishes change how I feel about this restaurant. Great food will bring me in once. Great people keep me coming back. El Paisa has both. P.S. The pozole has officially become one of my favorite foods because of this restaurant. I honestly never expected to say that. I gave El Paisa another chance and I'm glad I did , the food hits! I've tried the quesadillas, tacos, flautas, and enchiladas and they were all so good. The tortillas for the sour cream enchiladas were soggy but it was still good. I went the other day and got a bean and cheese burrito and it was surprisingly delicious! The avocado salsa is so good, it's definitely my favorite salsa. I do wish the salsa bar inside was open to all customers and not just for dine in customers, that's one of my gripes. Customer service is always good, the drive thru usually takes a bit of time but my food is always fresh so that's ok with me. 1st time trying this franchise. Food was good we had flour and corn tacos, beef and steak. As for ambiance it has fast food vibes. You don't have a waiter or waitress lol so it's not that kind of service. Not a complaint, but critique the tables need to be cleaned more frequently. When we walked in there were more than a few tables with food on them and no one at the table. Which doesn't give that clean vibe. read more

Excited to have a location so close to us' we have loved their franchise since Harry Hines' Food is delicious , love that they offer a drive thru tho I have not used it yet. I have been a couple of times and consistency is there. They will have a salsa bar coming but for now you can ask for salsa at the counter. My kids were excited to try a new to them taco place and they approved. We will be back! read more

TLDR: unknown wirey thing in my burrito I was very excited for this place based on the reviews and was hoping to find some good Mexican food in the area. I ordered the giant burrito dinner and was excited seeing the different salsas and that the burrito is very big, the "giant" claim is valid. I ate about 2/3 of the burrito and some of the rice and beans and overall it was okay, I'd say based on food alone I'd rate it a 2.5 / 5 especially because the filling of Al pastor in the burrito was very skimpy :/ we're talking multiple multiple bites of no meat and overall every bite was mostly slop filling = beans and sour cream. But my last bite I could clearly feel and hear an intense crunching. I then pulled out this little wirey thing from my mouth and can say without a doubt it's not food. I'm not even upset just genuinely disappointed. The reviews sounded great and based on this experience even omitting the thing in my food it was overall just mid Mexican food. But add in the thing in my dinner and I'm just defeated knowing I'm still hungry. I picked through the rest of the burrito and didn't find anything else so there's that. I almost rated a 2 because the guy at the window was nice and the burrito was big but with the food itself being meh and the plastic in my food it has to be a 1 lol. I'm adding plenty of pictures with the thing on the burrito so you can actually see it, but it was originally inside of it and I only found out after biting down on it. read more

So I've been to El Paisa (Carrollton) a few times now. The service was outstanding. The attendants have always been nice and courteous. The restaurant is really nice and clean. Love the lights on the outside makes you feel like you're at a taco stand. The food is delicious. The food is made to order and has always been hot and flavorful. Well my first negative is the fact they have Pepsi fountain drinks and not Coke products. Second, they have three TV menu boards and the descriptions are tiny. The girl gave us a paper menu while we waited to order. This menu has the same problem. Pictures with the item and very tiny print. Bring your magnifying glasses. As far as food, we had a quesadilla and some sour cream chicken enchiladas. Pretty good overall. We may do more takeout than dine in with the drink selection. This location is finally open! So excited as it's just around the corner from home. The tacos were very good and quite large for street tacos. I ordered two carne asada and two fajita beef tacos with cheese. The price was very fair for what I received. I met Jose the owner who told me they will be adding a salsa bar soon like the original location off of 35 had years ago. I'll be frequenting this new vocation for sure! read more

Second time coming to this location since it opened, and I am sad to say that the experience was not what I was hoping for. I ordered the #16 and besides the 35 minute wait time (was told 15 minutes max), when the food finally did come out it was just barely lukewarm and I literally thought my "quesadilla" was two chips(pictured below). I will say the costumer service was very good and the manager was sincerely sorry and offered to remake everything, but we just wanted a refund, which we got. read more

Tried this new taco spot for the first time with a takeout order. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression. The chicken tacos on corn tortillas with cilantro were excellent -- flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the barbacoa quesadilla was a big disappointment. It was basically two large pieces of fat with a mushy filling, and completely inedible. I had to throw it away. Because of the big contrast in quality, I'm on the fence about trying this place again.
