I am so grateful to find this gem on Yelp this Friday. I have been to famous Pink Elephant many times however they are quite pricey and charge for box. The quality has changed. They open later than others which makes it difficult getting to work. I truly was welcomed in this place its clean menu is bright and colorful ladies are professionally dressed the pastries are fresh prices reasonable. I had honor to feed a sweet elderly gentleman hanging out in the cold in front he was humble. I'm sure he's regular however if anyone is hungry and I'm buying others food there's no way I'm missing opportunity to feed someone out in cold at 5:30am. Nothing is fresh here, the bread is hard and you can tell they sell you the bread that has been sitting on their shelf first before they sell you the fresh one. Super expensive for it to be hard and not good . When I asked one of the employees to give me the ones in the front she said no because it's the owners rules , WHAT ? We were driving by when we spotted a sign that said Panaderia. I took that as a sign that some fresh pastries were in our destiny and we pulled into the parking lot. We walked in and were greeted by the delicious smell of bread! There was also a line of 4 people ahead of us. We took this as another great sign that we were in the right spot! We purchased 4 conchas and 4 orejas (our favorites), and 4 other assorted pastries and 2 pretty "mosaic" jellos. I'm writing this review from my kitchen. I just ate 2 incredible orejas that had plenty of sugar and were nice and crunchy. My daughter just ate 2 conchas and said they were soft, freshly baked and excellent! We would definitely go back! Champurrado too sweet and it tasted like was made of flour instead of corn dough/ masa but I'm not sure about it. This place is a hidden gem! I came here today with some co-workers as we we're doing a volunteer event and reaching out to local businesses. We walked in and it smelled amazing. The inside is very clean, we came around 1230pm on a Saturday and it wasn't busy. They had a huge selection of sweet bread, cakes and drinks. The family is very nice but the only thing is they didn't speak English (at least whoever was working today) which could be a barrier to some customers, but doesn't seem to be an issue as they have been in business for a long time. I came in around 7am to grab a little over a dozen pan dulce for the crew at work. There was already a lot of people in there which was a good sign! I bought some conchas, cuernos, gaelltas de sadina, and cacahuetes. They all looked so yummy! My car smelt like pan dulce on the drive in, it was so tempting to not eat one! The crew really enjoyed them! I had a chocolate concha and part of cuerno, they were both very soft and tasty. I think this will be my new pan dulce spot. Probably wondering "What is this asian girl doing here?" I walked into the bakery, I was drawn to the aroma of fresh baked goods. To bad I wasn't there for their fresh baked goodies. I wanted arroz con leche. The women who helped me was nice. I asked her for arroz con leche and she said they only have it "frio" meaning cold. I know that because I took Spanish class. I got a little confuse because I only had hot arroz con leche. Since I was really craving it I got it anyways. She also introduced me to azole con leche and asked me if I wanted it. (Azole con leche- Corn with milk. ) I was a little skeptical about it at first. To my surprise she gave me a little cup to try! I drank the sample, and I wanted it right away!!! I got my arroz con leche and discovered azole con leche! The total came out to be $3.25! It was really cheap for the both of them,I was surprised by how cheap it was. When I walked out the door I was holding my arroz con leche in one hand and azole con leche in one hand SMILING. The guys at the front door were still staring now they were probably wondering "Asian girl Mexican drink and food huh?" I will probably come here tomorrow morning or Pink Elephant Bakery just to see how their arroz con leche taste! I order a Asada Torta and I was the first one on there once i pay for my order a bunch of people came in and they all go their tortas and food before me. I understand that the meat takes time to cook. When my torta finally came it had a lot of onions on it. They put a whole onion on it I had more onions than meat. The avocado was looking as it was good anymore it wasn't green instead it was brown it didn't taste good anymore either. The meat it looked like it wasn't fully Cook my Torta had a good piece that was a bit raw. It was disappointing especially because I waited a long time for it and to be like that. This little jem of a bread store is unasuming. Plentiful in a wide variety of differnt Mexican Bread. They even have them name labeled on each one. So for the NONe spanish speakig customer "ME" can attempt to pronouce them. lol Not to worry cuz this bakery has excellent customer service. The Cashiers can handle a crowd with ease. I went here since I began living in the area in search of good food. I noticed at night that there's tons of people lined up to get food here so I decided to give it a try. I ordered their ham torta and it was less than $5. They do not toast the bread unlike many places but it was good try it cold, though the bread is still good. The Mexican cheese that they add is big and probably would scare those who are on a diet. The rest was good and I would probably go back for more. Went to this place this evening and had my daughter buy me some pan dulce. When she got back to the car, she handed me my bag. When I grabbed my bag, I felt the pan dulce and it was hard! I had went in to let the young lady, she seemed to be a teenager. I explained to her that my daughter just purchased the bread and they were hard, that that they're Un edible. She then looked into the bag and with an attitude said " what do you want me to do about it!" I told her that I want my money back, I can't eat those, they're to hard. She then went to the back and spoke to someone. The cashier returned, still with a bad attitude tossing the bag of pan into the garbage... the pan was so hard you can actually hear the thump when it went into the garbage can. As she opened the register and handing me back my money, she began to say that next time she is not going give a refund. I told her how do expect to eat that?! when its hard. I told her why doesn't she eat them! Then a older lady from the back came out. I also told her that how do expect me to eat hard pan. The lady said thats how those are. I told her NO! they are not, I've been to other panaderia's and the pan is soft, not hard. So unprofessional! How you going sell pan dulce thats hard probably old to people and most likely sitting there for who knows how many hours! and then get an attitude because they want a refund. This bakery is pretty good. There is usually always a line. They have THE BEST Pan Borracho and EVERYONE must know it because its ALWAYS sold out. This last time we went, there were 2 pieces of borracho left. The guy that was being helped took one of the breads. We were still next in line and kinda spoke up and asked the lady if we can call dibs on the last piece of borracho. She said "oh you have to wait your turn".
