I've been to Haiku a few times now. I live really close, and it's only about a five minute drive, but it didn't really catch my attention at first. Usually, it isn't too crowded when I visit, so finding a table is easy. There also isn't much interaction with the baristas since orders are placed through the kiosk. I've tried serval drinks, including the banana matcha, cookie butter matcha, and corn einspannar. When I first tried the matcha, I thought it was just okay, it tasted pretty bland. The corn einspannar was definitely the standout at the time, although I got tired of the flavor after a few sips. I'm a huge fan of anything cookie butter, so I'm always looking for places that do it well. I decided to try the cookie butter hojicha, and it was amazing. The hojicha here is a 10/10! Later, I tried the cookie butter latte, and it was just as good. The cookie butter and coffee pair so well together. The main reasons I keep coming back is their cookie butter and hojicha. I love the aesthetic of this tea shop! It's so cute inside, from the simplistic menu to the cute capybara decorations. I'm not from the area, and I will happily say that when I come to town, I will give this spot a visit. I've been here twice now, and the cookie butter matcha really stands out. It's a delicious and truly perfected drink. I haven't tried a combination like it before. I lovee the concentrated, earthy, and a hint of bitter matcha bottom paired with the sweet, creamy cookie butter cream top. They go together so well. The other two drinks I've tried are the Guava Jasmine tea and the Mount Everest Black Tea with Salted Cheese. Of these two, I liked the black tea more. The black tea was strong, and the Salted Cheese topping was a nice, thick consistency and a good balance of saltiness, sweetness, and cheese taste. I would probably not order the Guava Jasmine tea again. I was looking on this Yelp page for which drinks to order, and I was sad to find out that they don't offer their White Peach Oolong tea anymore, but Haiku has an easy-to-access website to order from in advance, so shoutout to that. Been eyeing this place for a while now, so I'm so glad I finally got to try it! I was particularly eyeing the corn latte, and was hoping they could make it with matcha instead of coffee but they couldn't :( I still enjoyed the coffee tho because it was sweet and creamy (even with 25% sweetness!). Been here a couple times as they consistently launch new cream tops that sound quite appealing. Most recently I tried the mango matcha latte. Mango cream top tasted exactly like the fruit, no artificial flavor but mixed into matcha was just okay. Matcha definitely overpowers the mango. I definitely prefer their strawberry matcha over the mango. Their drinks are pretty good quality, solid 4/5 everytime. You order through the kiosk so there's not much customer service/ interaction. Knocked off a star because of the lack of customer service. This happened twice but our drinks were done but they didn't call out a name, they just leave it at the pick up area. No text confirmation either so not sure how we are supposed to know our drink was ready or if we are expected to check the label of each drink that was coming out... I've been wanting to try Haiku Teahouse for a while, so I stopped by on a Friday afternoon. I parked in the parking garage which was mostly empty. There was no line and my drink came out quick. There were a few tables inside, but all of them were taken by people with laptops working. It's a pretty small place with limited seating so I don't think I'd want to bring a laptop and work here. I got the guava matcha latte from their seasonal menu. I really liked the guava cream top, it was a good combination of sweet and tart. The matcha itself was okay but a little chalky. I normally get 50% sweet, less ice at boba shops, their 50% classic sweet is perfect in their drinks. Their ice amount is not overwhelming either. Love that they do not charge extra for oat milk! The guava matcha is my go to, but you really can't go wrong with their matcha strawberry either. Both are not super sweet at 50% and the guava with the guava or strawberry are composed well. The staff was very friendly, and the drinks came out in a timely manner. The only negative thing I noticed was that they charge extra for whole milk, but not for oat milk or lactose-free milk. I came here to study, and was lucky to find a table, as it is a very small space and the seating options are limited. There is free WiFi and bathroom access, though, so if you're able to find a spot, it's a good place to study. Despite being a small spot, it is cute and the drink menu is a good size--enough options to satisfy a lot of people, but not so many that it's feels generic or overwhelming. The menu focuses on espresso, matcha, and hojicha lattes, with some small bakery items as well. The baked goods aren't particularly eye-catching. The drinks were good. I had a black sesame hojicha latte, and I also tried the black sesame latte (with espresso), both of which were strong on the black sesame flavor. I did find the hojicha in my latte a little weak, and the sweetness is really strong, even at 50%. I think ordering 0% or 25% sweetness would be best. That said, I did enjoy the drink. There's a few tables and they super cute merch featuring capybaras. Tie Guan Yin Oolong Milk tea: one of the best tie guan yin in the Bay Area. Strong tea flavor, with a slightly bitter aftertaste that Iron Goddess oolong in particular is known for. Not quite as floral as a jasmine milk tea from Molly tea, but I do prefer oolong if it's done right. Once we tasted how good this tea flavor was, we knew we can trust the other drinks here too. Hoping they'll have other oolong varieties in the future. Boba topping: so chewy and yummy. I usually don't get toppings unless it's good - and it's good here. Even in the fridge overnight, it didn't get hard like with other places. Corn Einspanner: I don't see corn drinks very often (only at Bopomofo in SoCal) so I just HAD to try it here! I came here at opening time on Sunday and ordered a matcha with cookie butter cream and a Hojicha with pistachio cream. The matcha and Hojicha lattes were really good on their own. I could taste some of the cookie butter but it was kinda masked by the matcha. The pistachio cream did elevate the drink in my opinion. The nuttiness complemented the roasted flavor really well.
