Been meaning to review this cute cafe for a while now! I was looking for cafes to journal and read books with my friends and randomly found this place on Google Maps. It is located inside of Joyheart Cafe and has free WiFi. The employees were so friendly and explained the seating situation. There are several very large tables we can sit at, but the booths are reserved for Joyheart Cafe dine-in customers, which makes sense. I ordered the Brown Sugar Hojicha Latte and my friend got the Strawberry Matcha Latte. The drinks were served in medium size glasses with glass straws as part of their commitment to no plastic. I believe you have to pay for a mason jar if you order drinks to go. My friend and I both really enjoyed the refreshing drinks and would definitely come here again to hang out! read more

Wonderful spot for a nice drink with friends or family. I had originally visited their space for the restaurant that operates within the vegetarian store until 2pm, but missed their hours. I was suprised when I visited the connected store that people were still sitting in the restaurant space. Quickly I realized it was for a tea and coffee spot that has longer hours. The cafe was wonderful with higher grade matcha tea and other drinks which were perfect to enjoy on a hot afternoon. They also import and sell one of my favorite Japanese matcha brands so that alone as me eager to return. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately it fell short for me -- the matcha here is only served with oat milk, I was told there is no option to get regular milk. Very underrated!! This is a cafe inside a store. They do have some weird hours but honestly its really worth it. I got the house matcha latte with oat milk (first time trying oat milk) and it turned out to be so smooth and nice. The sugar was also perfect and this is one of the best matchas I've ever had. The Orange Tabby doesn't have a large sign up anywhere that says "Orange Tabby" or anything inside or outside - it's connected/part of the Joyheart Cafe and the Heartland store which is a small organic Chinese specialty grocery store. When we arrived, we weren't quite sure where the line for ordering was as there was 1 party of about 5 people all crowded at the ordering counter and two ways to get to the counter - one right next to some booths, and another right through a narrow walkway (which is about wide enough for one person). I had my pallet set on the Tabby Latte, but I got to the counter and saw that they had a special Winter menu. I was so tempted by it because they had some chocolate drink (wish I could remember it) which sounded amazing, but I was really in the mood for the warmth of some cinnamon, so I stuck to my original plan and ordered the Tabby Latte, 25% sweet, hot, and in my own cup. No regrets! They brought our drinks to our table when they were ready and I could smell the cinnamon-ey goodness. It was exactly what I expected and hit the spot. Had a few friends recommend the place for matcha, so I had to try! I am not a big matcha connoisseur, but I generally like the taste. I tried the House Matcha Latte with oat milk. My friend got the hoji-matcha latte. On a quick side note, the milk options at this cafe are limited to oat, almond, and soy; no whole/real milk. But this worked perfectly as I preferred an alternative milk! We ordered for "here" and the drinks came out in very cute glass cups and glass straws. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The seating around the cafe was also quite intriguing. There were Labubu dolls placed in glass cases on the tables, with small placards of their owners and why they were donated to be put on display. (I am not big on these things, but it was definitely interesting HAHA). The tables were clean and tidy. While waiting for your drink, you can also walk around the little market, holding more obscure ingredients, seasonings, and tea. Overall, the place is very quiet and chill, great for studying and enjoying your latte at. Be careful when walking in, especially at the register, because there's a step that I almost fell from. Good thing I caught myself! They also offer reusable cups with a $2 charge, but you do get your $2 back if you return the cup! Matcha Latte(7/10): I asked for soy and I think I got whole milk instead. I randomly saw this place on TikTok and decided to come pay a visit? What appeared to be located in a business area is actually a neat cafe joint. It's pretty cool how it's combined with a Taiwanese market for local goods focusing on dessert tastes? Came here on a Sunday afternoon. As other reviews have pointed out, the cafe is inside a vegan supermarket. There appears to be another cafe within the supermarket that serves food, but they all share the same seating area. When you enter the building, the Orange Tabby is located on the right, while the other cafe is located on the left and the supermarket in the back. There was no line, so there was no wait to order. There were different types of matcha drinks you can order. I got the house matcha latte and my boyfriend got the reserve matcha latte. You are encouraged to bring your own drink container (which gives you a discount!) or you can buy one if you want to drink it to go, or you can use their glass cups for dine in. The drinks came out quickly, and tasted really nice! The matcha flavor was really strong, although there was not much of a difference between the reserve and the house matcha other than the price. They also use non dairy milk since it is a vegan cafe. Once we were done with our drinks, we brought our empty cups to the front as we didn't see a place to deposit them. This is literally my all time favorite place to buy drinks!! They have something for everyone -- whether you like fruity, creamy/decadent, matcha, coffee, or tea. I've tried a handful of drinks here, but I always go back to the yuzu matcha tonic when I'm feeling fruity and light, or the strawberry matcha latte when I'm feeling more milky. I visited The Orange Tabby twice during my work break. I tried two different drinks but I did not like either drinks. The first was their Sakura Matcha Latte. The Sakura foam was too strong for me and really overshadowed the matcha. I liked it at first but after like 10 minutes I couldn't taste the matcha as well. I usually wouldn't not get the Sakura matcha but wanted to try it since I've never seen it on a matcha menu before. The second was the Pink Coconut Matcha, which had a slightly sour taste. I've tried a lot of coconut matchas and this one just wasn't good compared to others. It wasn't horrible though! Despite not liking either drinks, I didn't want to rate the place poorly since their matcha is high quality and I did like the matcha part of both drinks. It was really just a preference thing for me as I probably did not like sakura as much as I thought. I do love their eco friendly bring your own jar deal where you can get a 25¢ discount, or "rent" one of their mason jars for an extra $2. The store is interesting, it's in a business park and a part of a little store/market and a vegetarian restaurant. The service was good - the workers were nice and helpful. I ordered a couple of drinks, Brown Sugar Hojicha and Yuzu Matcha tonic. They charge you extra for reusable cups or mason jars - i went with the mason jars - looked nice. The drinks themselves didn't taste the best.... they were watered down and seemed like melted ice. i dont know if it was a new person being trained or what not, but I would give them the benefit of the doubt and give it a second change. read more

I love the concept of a zero waste cafe! The service and environment are calm and welcoming, and there are a handful of tables for working and chatting. They offer a discount if you bring your own takeout cup but if it's too much trouble bringing your own cup, I'd recommend making time to sit down and enjoy your drink in-store. There are a variety of milks and syrups to choose from; I preferred the hojicha to the matcha. read more
