I have never had their avocado latte before, but got it 50% sweet, less ice.The avocado added a nice creaminess in it with a subtle hint of avocado that wasn't overpowering for the drink. 6/20/2026 Lacaphe was our last stop of the day, and I'm so glad we ended here! The place was packed, but the line moved quickly. We ordered the Saigon Freeze, Muoi, and COCO Freeze. My Saigon Freeze was hands‑down the best--like a super tasty Frappuccino. My sisters got the Muoi, which was really good but a little strong, and my sister's boyfriend got the COCO Freeze, which wasn't my favorite only because I'm not a coconut person. There were plenty of places to sit, and the vibe was super chill with a mix of families and people just hanging out. Everyone kept talking about how good my drink was--it really was that good! TIME: Came here around 3:00 pm on a Sunday (Father's Day) was fairly busy but it wasn't overflowing as I thought. PARKING: Lots of parking inside a plaza, but could be very hard to find a space if it is super busy. Run, don't walk, for the MUOI coffee!!! The salted cream is delicious and highly addictive. At 0% sugar and light ice I think it's the best way to taste the salt and coffee flavor. I love the vibes here, it's super chill with a good playlist and nice ambience to sit and relax or get some work done. Ordering on the ipad is very easy and the drinks come out very fast, I dont think I've ever had a problem waiting too long on the weekends. I think the ice in the ice drinks is still a bit much even selecting the "Less Ice" option. Today I got the Muoi coffee with less ice, but still more than 1/3 of it was ice. Very fun coffee house, a bit more on the expensive side but I do think it's worth it if you need a place to hang out for a while. I've been wanting to try their coffee for the longest, and I'm glad that I got to finally it during their opening hours on a random Thursday that I was able to go. (On a funny note: I did not know that they were going to open another location in Fremont, so I'm definitely attending their grand opening when they DO open in Fremont. Fingers crossed that I will be able to attend their grand opening. While I like the cherry blossom concept behind it, it left me rather disappointed when it came to the service and making of the drinks. While the coffee shop felt spacious and more than enough space to accommodate everybody, it just felt rushed throughout the whole time I was there. Their drinks were another dimension. I got their EGGspresso Hanoi, which surprisingly, was not bad at all. I loved how consistent the egg batter was, and the consistency of the coffee was quite equal. I will be back to try their other drinks, and hoping that their customer service could improve just a little bit more. Came with no expectations, because Vietnamese coffee is not particularly my go-to coffee drink, but wow ! their Signature Saigon (house blend coffee with cloud cream) caught me off guard with how good the coffee was - not bitter, not acidic, and had roasty notes of hazelnut. The subtly-salty cloud cream topping was delicious as well, and complemented the coffee. I selected 25% sweet & less ice, which was perfect. Also got the Coco-Bo (coconut milk avocado smoothie-slushie) - 0% sweet, but not sure how they adjust this ~ it was still sweet, as both the coconut part & avocado part were separately sweet, but still enjoyable & refreshing. One small caveat is that the avocado part is a paste so even though it's most likely house made, to me the texture is a little processed (as opposed to chunky blended avocado). I've been craving some Vietnamese coffee and I've been wanting to try this spot for a while so here I am. I ordered their Eggspresso Hanoi. It was nice and creamy and the slight salt like taste balanced out their coffee well. I also liked the foam and I'm not even a foam person lol. Ordering here is pretty easy. They have an iPad you can order from, or you can just order from them up front. This spot looks like a great place to study. They have e a lot of tables available. The parking lot is a decent size. Suppose to also come with grass jelly. I thought, maybe they forgot the jelly. Nope. I dug around for it and they didn't forget, it was just an extremely small amount. Less ice meant remove ice and leave cup empty I guess. How much does another 4oz of coffee and milk cost? Cents. Alternative would've been to fill the space with more grass jelly. Also cheap to do. It's been a while since we have been here so it was good to come back and try it. We noticed since the last time we came, they opened the seating area. To me, the seating area is nice and cozy with its dark walnut wood and green furniture. The soft lighting with the bulbs was much appreciated as well. The place was quite clean and you could really tell because the rest of the furniture is white/off white. Additionally, as soon as you come in, there's a nice smell of freshly brewed tea. I think this might be an okay place to get some studying/work done with multiple outlets if can get past what follows. My wife thought the decor was a bit too sterile. The music inside was also quite loud. No access to a bathroom as it says employees only. As for the service, non-existent other than making your drink and calling it out. You order on the iPad and there is no greeting or interaction. Some may like that, some won't. I was disappointed to see our drinks come in these plastic lined paper cups as it's very satisfying to see the layers of the coffee or tea and foam. We also both asked for less ice but I think that's just ignored. I understand that it means "less" volume of drink but I'm fine with a more empty cup rather than more ice. Overall, I think that's Lacaphe's drinks are fine but not top tier. The coffee is espresso shots but I think was a bit sour/ under extracted for me. The cream is good but not as thick as I think it could be. Overall, 4* for the decent Vietnamese coffee and the moderately cozy, but very clean place. read more

We ordered the egg coffee and avocado milk tea to try. The egg coffee was pretty good! Though located in an unassuming and humble little plaza, the interior of lacàphê was very clean and pretty, with plenty of seating, a quiet atmosphere, and an easy-to-read menu on a stand near where you would line up. Finding parking wasn't difficult, and I found that it wasn't too busy, and the drinks I ordered came out quickly. This place mostly serves Vietnamese-style coffees, matcha lattes, and milk teas. The menu is not too big as to be overwhelming, but it still offers a couple unique items as well as your standard fare for this type of shop. There isn't really any food. I tried their Signature Saigon, which was interesting and unique. It had almost a salty-sweet taste that I found very intriguing. I have also tried some of their other cream-top coffees, which I like. I'm not convinced of their matcha options just yet, but maybe they'll grow on me. Fair warning, their drinks do run sweet, so I'd recommend picking a lower sweetness option when ordering if you do not have a crazy sweet tooth. Overall, I find this spot really pleasant--it is a lovely spot with good coffee. The prices are medium to high when considering comparable establishments (with most drinks around $6-8), but I don't mind too much, as I enjoyed being there. It's been so long since I was last at Lacaphe and I'm glad I was able to visit again recently! Devin and I got banh mis at Duc Huong and were looking for another place to squat and be productive on a Tuesday afternoon and even though we had already gotten some beverages earlier I figured we could walk towards this spot just for nostalgia's sake. Temperatures were just under 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside. The air conditioning was great in here, not freezing cold but cool enough to be comfortable. There were a few other tables of people with their laptops out, and I was excited to see that they have expanded since my last visit and added more seating for customers. The lotus milk tea is still one of my favorites in the whole city. We sat at a table so there was no outlet, but I can't remember if there were outlets along the walls for the booth seating. The WiFi worked well and if there was background music it was not being blasted loudly. I would definitely keep this spot top of mind if I needed a reliable spot to work remote again, especially since there is now more seating than there used to be. I'd had Lacàphê on my list of places to visit for genuinely 2yrs so when was finally in this part of SJ this weekend, I had to make a stop. * Location: In a tiny plaza off the very busy Story Rd strip going into little Saigon. The plaza lot is small & very packed, be prepared to wait for parking in small spots. * Ambiance: Cafe has seating options, no public restrooms, wifi for guests. Most seemed to order their drinks to-go. * Service: No cashiers, order at a single ipad-style kiosk, or on your phone by scanning a QR code. Waited about 10-12min for 2 drinks on a late Saturday morning. Staff wasn't especially warm or interested in the customers. *Drinks: Tried the Ube Coffee (25% sweetness) and Eggspresso Hanoi (50% sweetness) with easy ice, about $16 total. * Servings: Both drinks were served in white sleeved cups (no longer clear plastic to see neat layers), both filled over half-way with ice (this is 'easy ice'?), and both were sweeter than we expected. * Taste: The thick ube foam was especially flavorful, sweet, or tasty, neither was the egg cream (vaguely vanilla, not nice sitting on top of the coffee, nor mixed in). * Experience: We didn't enjoy the drinks enough to take more than a few sips & put them in the fridge. We tried again the next morning knowing they wouldn't be as fresh but tried to give it another go. I was surprised neither cream top had melted & how much both 'creams' looked like whipped artificially stable food products in an off-putting way. We each tried another sip but didn't like them at all & tossed them. TLDR: I love Vietnamese coffee but these drinks weren't drinkable and experience the as not pleasant. Long overdue review! We love coming to LaCaPhe when we're in the SJ area! This has been our to-go spot for Vietnamese coffee! My favorite is the Eggspresso Hanoi and Salted Coffee (muoi). They have a variety of unique coffee flavors and even offer matcha, fresh tea, and milk teas. I haven't tried anything else besides the coffee, but they all sound so good! I'd probably have to order another drink to try in addition to my coffee order lol. They just remodeled the shop; so it's more spacious and there are more tables to sit at. I've visited this vietnamese coffee shop several times hoping that my opinion will change about their drinks but unfortunately, I think their drinks are just okay. I've tried their egg coffee as well as their ube coffee but the coffee lacks that strong vietnamese coffee flavor. Their drinks taste watered down and aren't bold in flavor the way vietnamese coffee usually is. However, I will say that the interior looks really nice and there's plenty of seating - it would be a great place to study or catch up with friends. Also their service is also very slow even if there isn't a long line, so definitely keep that in mind if you're in a rush. read more
