You don't go here for the atmosphere, you go for the delicious cheap food. Even the beers are less than $5. The place is relatively small and it was a little hot in there.

I have visited this restaurant a few times already. The food is consistently the same however, being a popular restaurant I believe that they can afford a little bit of an update to their place. Definitely looks very aged and outdated. Lighting is very bad, There's a few stains on the ceiling, and vents covers missing., the music it's very not my favorite. Customer service is decent. The waitresses are very polite and explain really well every dish. My favorite plate is the Cuban combo which is a plate with pork, chicken, meat, white rice, black beans, and fried plantains or tostones. Food flavors are good. My wife ordered fried mojarra with white rice salad and tostones. The fish needed to be a bit more crispy... flavor was decent. Overall, this restaurant is decent and I like it because the prices are still very affordable and the food is consistent. Stay away from the nachos they give you NINE tortillas chips with whatever choice of meat you want, melted cheese and a a few shreds of lettuces and tomatoes.

This place definitely has a unique curb appeal. There are off painted statues in the parking lot. The decor has never been updated but you come for the predictable, Easy, no frills Mexican food. Tastes yummy, and filling if you don't expect gourmet dining. The margarita was a little syrupy but the chips and salsa were on the table within the first 2 minutes of sitting down. The prices are absolutely great. My mom asks me to bring her here so I must abide.

This Mabe a good restaurant for tacos. I tried this meal off the lunch special and was definitely disappointed. I might just be my taste buds but did not like the flavor of the chicken. Wait staff and service was pleasant. Definitely more catered to dine in.

I have been to El Paso II several times. Located on Federal Highway between Taft Street and Sheridan Street, if you blink, you may miss it. It's a small restaurant with a smaller dining area. I have had the takeout, but tonight was a local date night, so we dined in. They have cozy booths, so that's where we sat. They have a good selection of margaritas and beer. Our waitress waited on us immediately. We had 2 margaritas, and they packed a punch. I ordered the 2 tacos steak mexican style, and my husband had the Jalisco special. We snacked on the complimentary salsa and chips while we waited. The food is fresh and delicious. The prices are reasonable too. We enjoyed everything. If you find yourself in the area... check it out.

One of my coworkers said he's been coming to this restaurant for years and recommended I should give it a try. Last week I decided to call in a lunch order and upon arrival the lady had gotten my entire order wrong. While I was waiting for a re-do, I couldn't help but notice that there were only two tables filled and that it didn't smell good inside. Usually the scent of a Mexican restaurant is heavenly, however this was more cheap floor cleaner and a musty wet smell. They sent me off with some extras for free since they got the order incorrect, which I thought was really nice. I happily walked out the door expecting to give the extra meals to my coworkers. When I opened the box for my chicken tacos I was very shocked to see unseasoned chicken and ICE in the tacos. Some of the ice cubes had already melted and the underside of the tortillas were completely soaked. The meat did not smell fresh at all. It looked awful. Mama didn't raise no wimp so I took a bite and immediately regretted it. I thought to myself at least they gave me a few other options to try. When I took a bite of the cheese enchilada I was disappointed at the oily cheese and lack of freshness and flavor. The rice and refried beans were disgusting as well. My third option was the chicken salad that I cautiously offered my coworker. She said she would give it a try and remarked that it wasn't terrible. As you can see from my past reviews I rarely ever give a business one star, unfortunately El Paso earned it.

I noticed a new appetizer menu so we opted to try two things from there. My husband had the ceviche Tostada and I had the mushroom Ceviche. He loved the tostada and o-m-g that mushroom ceviche hits it outta the park! So so so so good! Truly a unique dish with simple and fresh flavors. For entrees I had the mushroom tacos with corn and my husband has the mahi burrito. Both were phenomenal..we would definitely order these items again although I do want to expand to some of the other mushroom items. Overall amazing dinner with an beautiful view of Hollywood Beach. I have a feeling this place is going to become part of our regular rotation of fave spots!

(1) First up: the Baja Taco, which had Tempura-Battered Maji Maji, Pico, Sweet Onions, Flour Tortilla. The fish had an incredible crunch that gave way to the flaky, fresh fish beneath. Excellent. (2) Next: Short Rib Taco (Sweet, Savory, and Spicy, Au Jus/Ropa Vieja-esque, Flour Tortilla). The quality, on point. Like, not just good for a beach-side spot, flat out good. The Service and View. Yeni's service was world-class. Attentive, warm, and made the whole experience feel relaxed, amid a busy holiday. And, oceanfront seating on Memorial Day? Doesn't get much better than that. Overall. A killer oceanview, tacos that hit the mark, and top-tier service from Yeni, what more can you ask for? Already planning my next visit. #perfectafternoon

Chilangos Mexican Grill definitely needs to be added to the list of phenomenal hole-in-the-wall…read morerestaurants!!! Even if you know the address, you may drive right past it. The restaurant is buried in a line of other businesses door-to-door from each other, and hidden behind shrubbery. Once you find it, you will know it. There are husband and bride skeletons on the floor in the window by the door. Once inside, we were greeted, and asked if our order was pickup. It was to go. The wonderful and very busy woman at the counter, offered the menu, but we already had one. She was busy not just taking orders, taking payments, and getting deliveries out the door, but mixing drinks, and taking care of tables! She was a one woman army! Outside looks small, and so does the inside. But the layout is done in such an effective way that it there is counter seating, and more than enough tables to host a small event. It is like a small living room that is still large enough to throw a decent party! The décor is authentically Mexican with Mexican pottery, glassware, imagery, decorations, etc. Regarding the food, it is as authentic as the décor. Chilangos Mexican Grill is not Taco Bell or Pollo Tropical! The food is made from the heart and soul not from a corporate cookbook. So if you are a fan of Mexican food, or want to try it, visit Chilangos Mexican Grill. You may have trouble finding it, but once you do, the trouble will be MORE THAN worth it!!!
