My husband and I stopped here for lunch one afternoon. It's a cute, small place that was pretty empty when we were there. We got chips and salsa; the salsa was delicious. We also ordered empanadas. They only had cheese, which was disappointing. The cheese also wasn't fully melted inside. For entrees, my husband got the Al pastor salad bowl. He enjoyed it. I got the street tacos, one chicken, one carne asada, and one Al pastor. The shells were good but unfortunately fell apart. I ended up just seeing the food inside. I found the al pastor and carne asada a little dry, though the chicken was flavorful. Mexican restaurants all tend to be the same. I would say that Guacatacos stands above most. The restaurant is small, and the atmosphere is quaint. The first time we went - we've gone twice - we sat against the window and the sun was beating in on us. (I would suggest they get a sunshade to prevent that.) We learned from the first time and had an internal table the second time. The tables are pretty close to one another, so hope you have good neighbors. The boys had beers, but I requested a spicy margarita. It was definitely one of the better ones I've had anywhere. That's a plus in my book. Over the course of two visits, we had the chips and salsa, the taco salad, chili rellenos, chilaquiles, chorizo street tacos, and a steak Mexican tortilla. All food comes with two different sauces, and the sauces tasted homemade. They were delicious! Most of the food was plentiful and very tasty. The miss was the taco salad, as the fried tortilla "bowl" the salad comes in was not crispy and was therefore inedible. Luckily, their chips are tasty and I had plenty of those to appease my need for carbs! The service was great both times. The wait staff are all friendly and attentive, and there is a family atmosphere that is appealing. In summary, this is definitely better than your typical Mexican restaurant and well worth a visit or twenty. It almost seems as if they have no other purpose than to speak negatively about a venue. For instance, I came across a review where one person claimed everything was great but still rated them a 4 because perfection is unattainable. I genuinely believe this reviewer must be on medication--perhaps they're in need of a hug or lacking a positive role model; maybe they just need to take a break, haha! Regardless, this little gem in WESTON FL was absolutely wonderful. I loved the attentive service, the ambiance, and the music, and I even got to order from a menu displayed on an Apple tablet. I ordered the vegetarian tacos and thought they were very good. Most appetizer sized options really are full meals in disguise like the nachos. I was not a fan of the iced tea here even though I ordered two glasses hoping the 2nd would be better quality, it wasn't and got charged for both which looks a touch cheap. Nice restaurant that is quite a bit of a challenge to find (look for the Hampton Inn.) They have a nice menu and I found the prices to be reasonable and where they should be. I actually bought a burrito on takeout of Carnitas and it was delicious very filling. It turned out to be about $18 with tip even for takeout so is it good price who knows for a burrito that used to be the slice of pizza the cheapest food on earth. The restaurant is cute. It looks like a what I remember of Mexico City typical Mexican restaurant with little fountain in the middle. All it needed was the mariachis and it would be replete with all those things that Juana imagines Mexican. It had plastic flags instead of the paper, cut outs. It has small little decorations very colorful, like the Mexicans do so well. And the food is very tasty and seems like an authentic Mexican restaurant . GuacaTacos is one of many restaurants I tried during my recent visit to South Florida. While in Weston, Florida, I tried GuacaTacos. Before traveling, I searched Google for the "best tacos in Weston Florida", and GuacaTacos was number two in the results. Since it was a Friday, I made reservations several days before arriving to Florida, and I'm glad I did because the restaurant is on "small", but it seats around 50 people. However, it's in a strip mall and next to a hotel. I'm sure a lot of the guests go down to the restaurant. When we arrived at 7pm, it was practically empty, but around 8pm, it was packed! So if you go, make a reservation. What was even more surprising is the Spanish karaoke! There were two singers, one whom I think is a regular. However, the guest who was sitting behind me had a FABULOUS voice! On to the food - AMAZING as well! Wow! The food has the normal Mexican restaurant items - tacos, fajitas, burritos, but the flavors are extraordinary. For instance, my husband got a white sauce chicken burrito. He kept going on and on about how flavorful it tasted. I got the 3 meat combo fajitas, which was chicken, steak, and shrimp. I'm very picky about red beans and rice. This place was absolutely delicious and authentic. The three sauces we had with the free chips paired nicely with every dish. I ordered the shrimp Gorditas. *chefs kiss*. The is little English spoken by the waiters. But I just pointed to the menu and used the little bit of Spanish I knew to get by. Everyone was so nice and attentive to our small party of 4. Service was quick. We were in and out in 45 minutes for our lunch break. Cost is low for the amount of food you get. Bathrooms were clean and the space was well lit. This place is small and cute enough, hidden in a little corner close to a hotel. We went on Tuesday after seeing them in an ad that mentioned $2.95 tacos for Taco Tuesday. I ordered three of them, one each chicken, al pastor, and steak. They were full, but they were tiny. I should have realized how small they would be when our server read them back to me and called them taquitos. Three of them were sufficient for my appetite, but if I was a teenage boy I'd probably need six or seven. The chicken was good, the tortilla fell apart pretty quickly but I feel like that always happens with shredded meat tacos. The steak was sort of bland and a bit overcooked, I wouldn't get it again. The al pastor was probably the best one. My better half got the birria tacos (not a promo, they were $22 for 4 of them). I guess this may come down to a language barrier, when he ordered them I thought she said, "is Mozzarella cheese okay?" (He said yes), but when we got the bill we were charged $3 for shredded cheese. So I guess she was really asking, do you want to add cheese? They were good, kind of reminded me of quesadillas, but I don't have much experience with birria tacos so that might be the norm. So the service. It seems like we read quite a few reviews (between Yelp and Google) that talked about how slow the service is, so you'd think by now the restaurant would have started staffing a second server. It would really be a game changer for them. When we walked in, we stood for 3-4 minutes (it seems long when you don't know what to do) before we were acknowledged and pointed to a table. We were given menus on seating. It took another maybe, 6 minutes or so? For her to bring chips to drop off (complimentary). She almost ran off before I could ask her which tacos were on special, but I managed to ask in time. (Not beef tongue, not birria... I don't really remember the rest.) Another ~10 minutes for us to be able to place our order. 7-8 minutes after that for our drinks to come out (a beer and a water). The food itself came out at a normal time from when we had ordered. It really does all come down to having one person running front of the house. And she was lovely! But she's one person. Overall the food was ... fine. The place was clean. But for just-okay food, I don't think I'll go out of my way to go back and wait through their understaffing issue. read more

Stopped in after a youth volleyball game in Weston. I got on Yelp because the kid was hungry right after her game and I didn't wanna make her wait. She loves burritos and after losing her game I needed to cheer her up. This place is small and is located in a plaza off Weston Rd where the Hampton Inn is. When we arrived it was pretty packed and lively which was perfect to lift her mood. She ordered a chicken burrito, I ordered a shrimp chimichanga, and my husband ordered the fish taco's. This order is pretty typical for my group. I literally could have ordered for them and got their orders right. Though the staff didn't speak English, I didn't feel out of place. Literally EVERYONE WAS NICE! We were able to communicate what we needed and I did not feel out of place nor did I feel they were annoyed with us and I find that often when you enter a place that's authentic to a certain culture, it isn't always a place where you can feel comfortable and "at home" so to speak. But it didn't feel awkward at all. No one stared at us as if we didn't belong. I genuinely enjoyed the environment and felt completely comfortable. The karaoke was fun and everyone was singing along and having a blast. We didn't know any of the songs yet we still vibed, clapped to the beat and tried to sing to the karaoke screen. As for the food...We liked it a lot. My chimichanga was crispy on the outside and warm, chewy and gooey (cheesy) on the inside and the shrimp was cooked nicely and were a decent size and I got shrimp in every bite. My daughter didn't talk at all. She sat there shaking her head in a YES motion as she chewed which is a good indicator that she loved her food. My husband is picky but he ate every bite as well and even finished my chimichanga. $88 bill for food, beer, margarita, and lemonade. I'd definitely return. No complaints at all!! Nice Girls Night Out spot and is also fun for families or after work gatherings. If you like Mexican food and a nice vibe, this is the place to go. This spot used to be I love tacos and I'm so happy to report that Guacatacos is a huge upgrade! First of all the restaurant is brighter and doesn't feel as dark AND the food is so much better! First things first. Complimentary chips and salsas. Both the salsas were delicious and I added the green sauce to everything. We ordered the table side guac (which was not made table side - don't get too excited lol) and the Queso fondito. Both were delicious and I'd order them again even though it was too much food for two people with entrees. I ordered the birria tacos special which came with rice and was very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants that serve birria tacos. The flavor was phenomenal but I wish the taco was crispier Overall, I had a good experience. The service was good and itll easily become a regular lunch spot. read more

We are still at the restaurant and we are in a food coma!!!! The chips and salsa are insane. The refried beans are so authentic and homemade. You can almost imagine grandma in the kitchen making them. And the Birria Tacos. Speechless. The consome for dipping is an absolute must. Let me start off that I am not a fan of Mexican food. Between the spiciness & the use of cilantro - I am not a fan. Every so often I will agree to go, because my husband loves Mexican food. Today I gave in, because quite frankly, I just wasn't in the mood to make a decision about lunch. We were seated quickly and asked about our drinks. I asked about the coffee and was told their coffee maker was not working but if my heart was set on coffee they would go down to the Colombian restaurant and get me one. Wow! So nice! While I wanted it, I surely wasn't not going to have someone do that. (PS I did go myself after we ate). I don't eat red meat or chicken and there were a few options - but I opted for the Mexican Pizza. I made some modifications, by removing the meat & the salsas. Take one came out and quite frankly, it was nothing like I was expecting. I was expecting the cheese melted and a little more beans, considering I asked for no meat. It was pretty but not what I was expecting and hard to cut through since the tortillas were not warmed at all. My husband's fajitas looked amazing and it was all chicken. A lot of times it's all pepper and onion and barely any protein. This was a huge mound of chicken and my husband had leftovers. The tortillas were small - like a street taco, but it was manageable- more manageable than when they are huge. Our server (a different person from who took our drink order) tried to take our order. He was having a hard time since he didn't speak English and we don't speak Spanish. He immediately went to get the person who took our drink order and she helped him take our order. I ate his rice and beans - which were very good. So, now back to my Mexican pizza. They noticed I wasn't eating the pizza and came over to talk to me. I told them it wasn't how I expected it. I thought it would be...well cooked. They offered to make me something else - but I was good with the rice and beans and was okay. They asked how it could have been better. I said it could have been cooked and melty - and since I didn't have meat on it, they could have doubled up on the beans. I was asked if I wanted it re-made or something else. I kept telling them I was good. The next thing I know, the server comes out with a Togo bag and said the kitchen remade it with your feedback. I was surprised and was thankful. When I got home, I needed to check it out and it was perfect and I did take a few bites and YUM! All in all, I am still not a fan of Mexican food - but the service and willingness to listen to customer feedback will have me return again. read more

Food was good, service was a little slow for a Thursday night. Ambiance was nice. What we didn't like is they consider a family of three (mom, dad and son ) a large party. Adding a whopping 19% gratuity. Ordinarily parties of six are considered a large party not just a family coming in to celebrate a birthday dinner.Then they ask for another gratuity on top of the 19%. They ask for 2,5 or 7%stating that goes directly to the server. It's not the problem when something happens. Its how they handle it! First thing, my wife hates Mexican. So getting her to go usually takes a lot of convincing. We started with the complementary chips and salsa. It was accompanied by two kinds of salsa, one hot green, one mild green, and some limes with radish slices. Now, what I had was the chicken fajitas. It had to be the largest portion of fajitas I have ever had. "I couldn't finish it." It was accompanied by a plate with guacamole, Pico, rice, beans, and a little salad. And of course, tortilla. They were also the smallest tortillas I've ever had. Four or five inches in diameter. The fajitas were cooked perfectly. It wasn't overly cooked like what I've had in other restaurants. The problem was my wife's food. She ordered the Mexican pizza, with no meat. "She didn't like it." It was lacking and not cooked enough. This is where our server stepped up to the plate. She noticed my wife not eating it and asked her what was wrong. She had it removed from the check and proceeded to question my wife about what was wrong to get feedback so they could make changes and fix the problem for the future. The chef, he took the feedback, used it, and made a new one for her to go. OMG! This time it was fantastic. The chef, he also went above and beyond. I will say they were good and will definitely be back, but they were not the best I've ever had! We had some elote a big portion definitely enough to share and some margaritas. The restaurant had good music and a nice ambiance it was pretty busy for a Thursday night. However, the service was a little slow but there was only one server for the whole place and she was having to make her own drinks for her tables so I will give it the benefit of the doubt. Atmosphere is very welcoming and feels almost outdoors. They had music playing on this visit and i was enjoying the karaoke songs. The service was really good. There wasn't a lot of patrons during our visit but our food and drinks were fresh and our server was very knowledgeable and checked on us regularly. The food was good. We had the queso fundido as an appetizer, horchata, agua de jaimaca, birria tacos, chicken quesadilla, and chilaquiles. Birria tacos were ok. I'm used to the shell being a little more crunchy but these things were LOADED and there were 4. The chilaquiles had good flavor but not spicy and the chicken quesadilla was HUGE. This place is a hidden gem. Was in town for Cleveland Clinic staying at the Hampton Inn. When there three separate times and each time the food was amazing. I went here with just me and my husband the food was very bland down to the guac has absolutely no flavor we had to add a lot of lime and salt and the Piccadillo they gave us on the Side all in the guac so it could have some taste. We were served by a waitress that seemed new which isn't a bad thing but she was a little slow there was only 3 servers so the service was long if you want a refill (they don't have fountain soda only glass bottled soda Mexican coke etc.) or need to ask for something else. We ordered the fajitas for two which also lacked a lot of flavor the onions and pepper were there but still no seasoning. The meat tasted very bland. And we ordered the chicken enchiladas which I had to send back because it was sour,soggy, and cold. When I sent the enchiladas back she guessed it was because of the sauce which she was right it was inedible which makes me wonder if it was bad and they knowingly served me bad sauce or old which I hope not. The server was pretty nice about it and said she was going to take it off the check but then didn't which caused us being double charged which caused us to have to pay twice. It was a disaster with the bill they didn't seem to know how to do refunds on the POS system that all three of the servers were standing there trying to figure it out which the tables suffered. It wasn't a very good experience and on top of it the food was not very good so all in all I will not be back but at least I tried it. The only plus for this restaurant is the cute decor and the salsa. Note chips are not free as the majority of Mexican restaurants. Service was very slow for our party of 6. Appetizers were delivered with the entree's. Two meals were delivered at least 10 minutes before another 3 dishes showed up and the last meal another 5 minutes which was the only dish that was hot. The rest of the food was cold and mediocre at best. Also didn't appreciate that every TV in the restaurant was tuned to Fox News. With all that said I won't be back! read more
