(Española abajo) Growing up in Los Angeles (a.k.a. Little Mexico), I've long appreciated and have high standards for what's "good Mexican food". I've been to this spot a few times, and its highest marks are definitely its location, outdoor and indoor seating availability, and interior decor; the service and food quality can be more variable. The murals and design of the space are absolutely top-notch, and the designers deserve their flowers! The menu, while vast, is fairly limited, especially with mix-and-match methods that are common in Mexican cuisine. For example, there's no option to have different tacos on the same plate, nor enchiladas, etc. I readily praise that the food this most recent time was fairly good, as the kitchen absolutely delivered and the deliciousness of my favorite type of tacos: al pastor! Also VERY refreshing that servers are allowed to bring FREE chips and salsa to the table as the first introduction, which is satisfying. The frozen margaritas and horchatas were really tasty too! The waitress was very kind and accommodated us when, for example, taking the taco dish w/o rice and beans won't, for some greedy capitalist reason, doesn't reduce the price. Because speaking of, it is always gonna be more expensive than you expect (and comparable places in LA, of all places, for example. So there is enough inconsistency and an inflexible menu for me not to give it 5 stars, if it's your first Mexican culinary adventure or you just want some convenient Mexican flair, this place will surely satisfy - especially the visual delights. However, I do have an issue with the service. The meal was about $80, and while the price isn't the problem, I was disappointed with how certain things were handled. When I asked for extra sauces (which usually come complimentary with tacos), I was only given three. For a family meal, that just didn't feel like enough.On top of that, I paid extra for an order of jalapeños and they were not included in my bag. I called back to let them know, and nothing was done to fix the situation. The menus are on Ipads which in hindsight isn't a great idea when ordering while outside and the sun beams on the menu. But it's a cute idea and I think we just had bad timing in using the menus. While ordering we were given chips and salsa which is expected for most Mexican restaurants. The salsa was decent and the chips were good. I ordered the steak fajitas and finished the tortillas with some of the fillings in it and took the rest home for two bowls later. So while it was on the expensive side, the serving size makes up for it. You can have leftovers for the next day or two. Not a place that stands out to me that'd I'd recommend out of the blue to a friend. Food - the authenticity of this food reminds me of something I would get in Mexico while the ambience is more modern and "chain restaurant " style. The menu is featured cleanly on an iPad with photos was missing was more detailed descriptions. I ordered an enchilada with a taco. Unfortunately you can only choose one meat and it's only chicken or beef. I would've preferred to get Carnitas or something else, but it was still very very tasty. I met some friends at Orale for dinner, when we walked up we heard music not realizing right away that it was live music! We were seated and given fancy menus that were tablets! We were given chips and salsa and ordered drinks. I opted for the medium margarita and it was huge! There were four sizes with the biggest being XL, I can't imagine how big it must be if my medium was probably atleast 20oz. We ordered our entrees and everything was SO good! I got the tamales and my BF got the arroz texano. My tamales were just what I was craving and the texano was a massive portion and the sauce on it was so delicious! We were sadly going out of town so we couldn't take home our leftovers, my BF said he was still thinking about his meal two days later, lol. The most overpriced menu in Hollywood, and yes, I've eaten at Billy's Stone Crab. At least Billy's offers quality. This is the common authentic menu you can get everywhere in the country. Fajitas, a tostada, queso and margarita that had vey little flavor came to $101 with a medium tip. We've had that same meal elsewhere in the Midwest/South for $35. I've eaten more creative dishes in larger portions on this same entertainment strip for under $60. I can only assume they were making me pay for the iPad they used for a menu presentation. Look elsewhere on the boulevard for Mexican cuisine. read more

Don't order delivery from this place... The good: the food is pretty good, the tilapia was great tasted fresh and well seasoned. The diabla shrimp were ok, not even close to spicy though. The guacamole was good too bad that their packaging is so cheap, which brings me to the bad... The bad: the cheapest packaging on earth, my food arrived damaged and spilled all over the place due to the packaging. I would gladly pay more per dish if they had decent containers and bags. Seriously disappointed and will never order for delivery again due to this. Summary, if you're going to physically go into the restaurant then I would recommend trying their food, but avoid ordering for delivery unless you want to eat half of your food directly from a plastic bag. read more

When we ordered the margaritas, we asked if they can add mezcal instead. WE WERE NOT offered what brand. When the bill came, they upcharged us with top shelf mezcal without previously asking if we wanted it.
