This was the worst Mexican experience I've ever had. I don't think I've ever left a one star review. Let's start with the chips and salsa. Meh. Just ok. The red salsa was fresh but bland. We ordered the guacamole- it was also fresh but severely lacking in salt. When I grabbed the salt shaker, it was sticky on all four sides. Ew. My daughter and I both got carne asada quesadillas. The tortilla was soggy as hell and greasy. There was a very unpleasant and odd smell which eat bite. My daughter and I both smelled it. I tried to cover up the stink with sour cream, only to find that it was chunky. Seemed spoiled and smelled weird. I forced myself to keep eating only because this isn't the type of restaurant where you send things back. I ended up just scraping the meat out and eating that with lettuce. Sigh. My husband got the carne asada tacos. They were filled nicely with meat, cilantro and onions. Tasted okay but slightly bland so had to squeeze lime and put hot sauce on every bite. This was sincerely one of the most disappointing dining experiences that I have had in years. It was later on a Saturday evening and we were feeling Mexican. After seeing some really great reviews about the food and service at this restaurant we were super excited to check it out! I called to doublecheck what time they closed that evening and they said 11pm. We arrived around 9:20pm and there were two other tables seated. The restaurant had loud music playing from a tv but was otherwise very plainly decorated. We sat ourselves at a table and were greeted with chips and salsa and menus. I will give the restaurant credit here, the salsa was DELICIOUS! But it's all downhill from here. After bit we were brought waters and we ordered one Lengua taco, the chile relleno plate, and the al pastor chimichanga. And then we waited. And waited. AND WAITED. Keep in mind that there were only two other tables in the building, one of them had already finished their food. Finally, forty-five minutes later we were brought our single taco and I was so excited because I was starving and it looked so tasty! The taco was overflowing with lengua, cilantro, and onions, enough for two tacos! After one bite all of that excitement was immediately gone. The meat was unseasoned, extremely greasy, and had no flavor whatsoever. Trying to stay hopeful, I hope a squeeze of lime juice would save this taco but that did very little. Then came our plates. The chile relleno was painfully disappointing. The pepper still had someone of the very tough and bitter outer skin that's usually cleaned after peppers are roasted. It was covered in a watery, tangy (not in a good way) mild red sauce, stuffed with unseasoned chicken and a mild cheese. The breading on the pepper was thick and soggy and feel off in chunks. Chile rellenos are my go-to Mexican dish and this one was the worst I've had. The rice and beans were cooked okay but did not bring enough flavor to make up for how boring and poorly prepared the relleno was. The chimichanga was beyond terrible. The tortilla was not fried like a chimichanga should be but instead, raw, soggy, and covered in a sloppy sauce they claimed as mole with way too much shredded cheese. The al pastor meat inside was fatty, chewy,  and had a taste that was almost rancid, it was so bad we couldn't eat it. We asked our server about the chimichanga to ensure that we had not received a burrito or something instead because we were so shocked at the plate. We were clearly disappointed in the food and had eaten maybe two bites of each plate after sitting there for fifteen minutes. Our server did not ask how the food was and chose to ignore how upset we both were. We got boxes to go because we can't stand wasting food but ultimately ended up tossing the food because even dressing it up at home couldn't save it. Before you come for me, please know that I HATE writing negative reviews, and almost never do. I wrote this review to warn you. I sincerely do not think all of the other reviewers dined at the same restaurant as me. The service was terrible and our entrees took almost an hour to get to the table. The food was disgusting. I walked away from this restaurant feeling almost confused at how bad the experience was. What a waste of money and a waste of our time.  Please don't come here and if you do, maybe stick to beer and eat some free chips and salsa. read more

This was the only mexican restaurant around where I was staying. I was scared of going because of the bad reviews. But this ended up being a great experience. Yes service is slow, there was only one older man handling all of the tables. I didnt mind because they had older spanish music playing on youtube and my company was good. If you want a fast meal go to Mcdondales or Tacobell. It's perfect if you're hispanic and understand the culture. If you're not hispanic then have an open mind. The restaurant is usually pretty empty. I always thought it was awfully strange how empty they were each time we have gone. Now I understand, they take advantage of their clients . Not a good thing. They attempted to charge 14.00 for three tiny cheese quesadillas that had very little cheese. I told the waiter I have always been charged 2,00 per quesadilla. He came me back with a bill for 10.50! So not worth it! A pure rip off and dishonest. Food was not good enough to warrant such bad ethics. They "ran" out of avocado do no guacamole. There are better and more reputable restaurants. I just wanna start by saying I have never sent food back and never left a review. But oh my god was this one of the worst experiences I have ever had eating out. To start me and my wife both ordered a water and horchata. She got her horchata after about 15 minutes of eating the most burnt tortilla chips, the type that a restaurant wouldn't even dare send out. It had to take the next 30 minutes of finally getting our food and then the sweet old woman, probably the owner, who wasn't even the server to come out and have to re ask her for the rest of our drinks. Meanwhile the woman who we ordered the drinks and food from was standing in the back for those 30 minutes on her phone. Anyway food finally came out and was disgusting, the rice was bland the beans seamed like they came out of a 3 year olds putty jar and the al pastor tacos weren't even pork they were grilled chicken with barely any flavor. The only saving grace of this place and the reason it's getting one star and not zero is the sweet old lady who runs it and the horchata which was actually pretty good. First a serious warning, you will be turned off when driving and walking into this location, this is not your mainstream Roccos Tacos, Lime, Tijuana Flats, Casa Frida or Bar Rita..... nothing welcoming or fun. This place is really hidden, no signs except an old Chinese Restaurant sign above the store front, that use to be there before El Coyote moved in. They really need to rip down the heavy tinted windows and put some lights up, play some music...put some colors in the window. I walked right by and thought it was an abandoned store front. I walked in and almost walk out, ghost town, looked very old and haunted but clean. When I saw it was pretty clean and smelled good, went for it. To make it short, some of the best Authentic Tacos I have had in South Florida, hands down. Basically it's your Grandmother in the Kitchen cooking up some serious Magic....maybe i got lucky and just hit this place at the right time, I do not know....seems like just one person working the whole place..anyway, I think it could be a hidden Gem if you give it a chance....not sure they will survive because it's so hidden but really hope they do... read more

This looks like the typical food spot in a strip mall. We went there on accident really. I tried to get our group to leave. It just didn't look like the right place. Wow was I wrong. The food is some of the best Mexican I have had for a long time. My table said the salsa was the best they have had. I always get fish tacos at a restaurant. The restaurant is a little strange, but the food was amazing. Give it a chance. The green salsa has really good spice to it, I put it on my Carnitas along with the 3 baskets of chips. I also had the chicken mole enchiladas, they were really good. The sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and smoky. Just opened and has Absolutely Amazing Food!! My wife and I were so excited when we noticed this place opening right near our house as we love Mexican food. I went there on a Friday night to get a take-away order. The two young guys serving were polite, friendly, and well-skilled with the menu. The food we ordered (Mexican Torta, Quesadilla, and Gordita) came in large portions and was incredibly delicious. The servers told me this place was family-owned and you can tell by the love that is put into making the food.
