Chicken chimichanga! The plates are HUGE.

FINALLY! We found some GREAT Mexican food that I didn't have to make myself. We had a Chicken Chimichanga and the Quail and Mexican Cokes (the good stuff!). The chicken was juicy and tender, perfectly cooked! My partner loved the spicy hot sauce. We arrived tired and hungry and we're cheered by the very homey atmosphere. Waitress patient and helpful.

Never disappoints... been going there for years for the authentic tacos. Sit at the bar. Great food. Great service.

I arrived for dinner on Taco Tuesday with a friend and we had a nice sampling of their flavorful fillings, and hot sauce. On-site parking and active bar. Servers were attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Go next Tuesday.

El Paso sits in a place with a variety of Mexican restaurants around but is well worth a visit (having never visited the other locations). As you sit down, you're immediately greeted with smiles, menus, and chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were delicious and a great appetizer as I waited for my meal. This is a smaller diner-style restaurant great for a lunch break. I had the carne asada lunch special which came with rice, beans, lettuce, pico, sour cream, and tortillas. I opted for corn tortillas which were served in a tortilla warmer, warmed and grilled. The entire meal was exactly what you'd expect out of a Mexican restaurant with my only qualm being that I would've preferred more pico or more seasoning on some of the items and more attentive service when it came to refilling drinks. Overall, great value especially at $10 for a full meal.

What a great restaurant! How did we miss this gem? Probably because of the plaza it's in. But inside, it was small, quaint, welcoming and very clean. I was looking for a fish taco with my son and daughter-in-law. What we found was a great selection of simple delicious, Mexican dishes at a great price. Fish taco authentic (radish, jalapeño, cilantro), grilled shrimp authentic and shredded chicken taco.. We also enjoyed the steak Quesada! Wow! And the fresh homemade hot sauce. Perfect heat! Topped off dinner with a flan that was firm and sweet. The best part? We came in within about 30 minutes of closing. We weren't rushed and treated wonderfully by our waitress even as we were pushing the limits of closing time. Can't say enough. We've found our 'go to' Mexican cantina.

The service is great and fast! The prices are very reasonable, and the food is always consistently awesome. The green sauce is a must. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the music changes vibe depending on the time of day. I highly recommend checking this place out!!!

Soup was plenty and delicious!!! Sea food soup.

Had a chance to stop here for lunch. Ambiance in that the greatest nor is the decor; however, you come here for the food and service....this judging is based on that. 1) Place is welcoming. It is local-hole-in-the-wall and ambiance is set to that. 2) Server was very friendly and attentive. 3) Food was very good. My dish was delicious. See picture below. Overall I recommend this place and will be returning for a quick lunch.

From the outside you wld never know this hidden gem is here. BUT WHAT A GREAT FIND!!! You walk thru and it's like this amazing gem of good food, friendly staff, and a great bar. The music is also great for the restaurant.

Shrimp , tripe, pork carnitas, Barbacoa , & tongue tacos. With the traditional corn tortilla, onion, cilantro, and radish.

We ordered a few cocktails, the El Segundo Classico, a classic margarita, and the Oaxaca Peach Old Fashioned made of blanco tequila and a bit of mezcal, very refreshing to start off with. Our servers recommended a few different menu items. The Pimento Cheese Elote Dip small plate was delicious. We then moved on to the tacos - the Brisket Burnt Ends, the Chicharron Ceviche, and the Cali Fish (my favorite). The Cali Fish was nicely fried and just a bit of heat and slightly sweet slaw. Also tried the Birria Tacos and the Burrito, both great. We loved sitting outside in front of the restaurant. There are few artist studios across the parking lot. El Segundo has ample indoor and outdoor seating. Though slammed, I sat at the bar and met Connor. His beer "is so cold, your teeth will hurt." That statement is a sign on Isla Majure. The menu is awesome. Prices are great. It was tough to finish my blackened chicken burrito! Deliciosa!!! But what makes this place vibe is the young staff. They rock! And they got each other's 6. I witnessed this as Sam was pouring one of their famous margaritas. As she was close to empty with her container, Connor does a stealthy maneuver and slips in another container for her. Sam did not miss a beat because of Connor. Everyone and I mean everyone connects. It is worth your time. Enjoy the local art too.

We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all.
