Chicken chimichanga! The plates are HUGE.

FINALLY! We found some GREAT Mexican food that I didn't have to make myself. We had a Chicken Chimichanga and the Quail and Mexican Cokes (the good stuff!). The chicken was juicy and tender, perfectly cooked! My partner loved the spicy hot sauce. We arrived tired and hungry and we're cheered by the very homey atmosphere. Waitress patient and helpful.

Never disappoints... been going there for years for the authentic tacos. Sit at the bar. Great food. Great service.

I arrived for dinner on Taco Tuesday with a friend and we had a nice sampling of their flavorful fillings, and hot sauce. On-site parking and active bar. Servers were attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Go next Tuesday.

El Paso sits in a place with a variety of Mexican restaurants around but is well worth a visit (having never visited the other locations). As you sit down, you're immediately greeted with smiles, menus, and chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were delicious and a great appetizer as I waited for my meal. This is a smaller diner-style restaurant great for a lunch break. I had the carne asada lunch special which came with rice, beans, lettuce, pico, sour cream, and tortillas. I opted for corn tortillas which were served in a tortilla warmer, warmed and grilled. The entire meal was exactly what you'd expect out of a Mexican restaurant with my only qualm being that I would've preferred more pico or more seasoning on some of the items and more attentive service when it came to refilling drinks. Overall, great value especially at $10 for a full meal.

What a great restaurant! How did we miss this gem? Probably because of the plaza it's in. But inside, it was small, quaint, welcoming and very clean. I was looking for a fish taco with my son and daughter-in-law. What we found was a great selection of simple delicious, Mexican dishes at a great price. Fish taco authentic (radish, jalapeño, cilantro), grilled shrimp authentic and shredded chicken taco.. We also enjoyed the steak Quesada! Wow! And the fresh homemade hot sauce. Perfect heat! Topped off dinner with a flan that was firm and sweet. The best part? We came in within about 30 minutes of closing. We weren't rushed and treated wonderfully by our waitress even as we were pushing the limits of closing time. Can't say enough. We've found our 'go to' Mexican cantina.

The service is great and fast! The prices are very reasonable, and the food is always consistently awesome. The green sauce is a must. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the music changes vibe depending on the time of day. I highly recommend checking this place out!!!

Soup was plenty and delicious!!! Sea food soup.

Had a chance to stop here for lunch. Ambiance in that the greatest nor is the decor; however, you come here for the food and service....this judging is based on that. 1) Place is welcoming. It is local-hole-in-the-wall and ambiance is set to that. 2) Server was very friendly and attentive. 3) Food was very good. My dish was delicious. See picture below. Overall I recommend this place and will be returning for a quick lunch.

From the outside you wld never know this hidden gem is here. BUT WHAT A GREAT FIND!!! You walk thru and it's like this amazing gem of good food, friendly staff, and a great bar. The music is also great for the restaurant.

Shrimp , tripe, pork carnitas, Barbacoa , & tongue tacos. With the traditional corn tortilla, onion, cilantro, and radish.

The colorful décor and nostalgic touches throughout the dining room create a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels more like sharing a meal with family than dining out. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated that they were bilingual, making everyone feel comfortable and at home. We shared the Bandeja La Casa del Mofongo con Tostones, loaded with chicharrón de puerco, chicharrón de pollo, masitas de cerdo, salami, and queso. At $22.99, the portion was incredibly generous and easily large enough to share. The meats were flavorful and well-prepared, with the pork perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. The tostones were fried to perfection! If you're craving authentic Dominican cuisine , La Casa del Mofongo is definitely a place worth adding to your list.

Curious and hungry, we decided to check it out. The restaurant is located in a small shopping plaza, and I have to admit, the dark tinted windows made the place seem a little questionable at first glance. I actually got out of the car to peek inside before committing. Once I saw several people dining and enjoying themselves, we decided to give it a shot. Inside, the restaurant was tastefully decorated with a charming Dominican countryside flair. Even the bathrooms had a playful sense of humor that added character to the place. Service started off promptly, and we were seated right away with menus in hand. However, while browsing the menu, I quickly realized that despite the restaurant's name, there were very limited Puerto Rican options aside from the different varieties of mofongo. The menu was overwhelmingly Dominican cuisine, which was a bit disappointing since we specifically came looking for Puerto Rican dishes. We ordered the empanada de cangrejo to start, which was flavorful and freshly made. We also shared the mofongo with masitas fritas, and I will say the food itself was well seasoned, hearty, and satisfying. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress lacked warmth and wasn't particularly attentive. What stood out the most was that she didn't know what sorullos or alcapurrias were, which caught me completely off guard considering we were searching for Puerto Rican cuisine. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the experience didn't fully meet our expectations. If you're looking for Dominican-style mofongo dishes, you may enjoy it. But if you're specifically craving traditional Puerto Rican cuisine, this may not quite hit the mark.

My husband ordered Mofongo stuffed with chicken and peppers and was very pleased with his choice. The portion size was quite generous. I ordered the Chicken de Plancha. My chicken was grilled to perfection and accompanied by plantains and black beans and rice. I enjoyed every bite. Our server checked on us several times during our meal. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy.
