My NEW 'goto' for Mexican food though they do not have a 'sit down' bar (my preference) they do have tap beer & alcohol. In fact, they had Dos Equis Amber draft, a favorite. On entry, went to the bathroom & walked past a Mexican family with children - a good sign! This is family style cooking, ordered chorizos con huervos, a menu item not typically found, indicative of a dish made by abuelita. Great service provided by my waiter, Juan. As we walked up to the restaurant, we noticed about twenty people sitting outside waiting for a table and it was humid outside too, so slightly concerned, but the reviews were good. Would not have had an issue with the forty minute wait for a table but they did not have a bar inside to hang out or a patio area to have drinks. We had to go next door to another restaurant with our buzzer to have drinks while we waited. Finally got a table and service was quick. A few people had giant margaritas. A basket of chips and salsa were brought to the table complimentary which was great. Ordered the triple enchiladas with beans and rice. It was excellent and filling for only $19.99 - well its what it said on the menu even pointing to it on the menu to show the server, who said its large and ordered often. Finished eating a great meal and got the bill where everything went south quickly. Noticed $6.00 additional for the two enchilada orders, so $12.00 extra. I went over the bill with another server since ours disappeared but she could not explain the additional charge. I requested a manager and a guy came by and was shown the receipt and began reading the enchilada section on the menu and seemed confused. Three enchiladas for $19.99 then a smaller section on the left side where there is an added $2.00 for each enchilada. After few minutes, he tried to explain the upcharge and appeared more uncertain of the upcharge intent than everyone at our table. At this point, the menu was still not clear and weirdly difficult to understand the upcharges. Not even an apology or partial waiver or anything. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth and unfortunately it was a great atmosphere and tasty meal. We all left defeated and confused. This issue directly caused a steep drop from 5 stars to an average 3.5 stars, which could have been easily avoided. Please make adjustments to your menu for easier navigation - Thanks. read more

We were in this plaza to check out another store and decided to stop here for lunch. They were very popular and busy during lunch hour. In fact, when we left all the booths were occupied plus half the other tables in the middle of the room. They gave us chips and salsa to start. The salsa was just okay. They had a number of lunch specials. We ordered from the combo section. I ordered a chalupa with ground beef without onions and chose the regular beans (vs the refried ones). I had to look up what a chalupa was... and basically it's a softer more bread like wrap. It was fried, so it was crispy on the outside and soft inside. The portion was large with melted cheese. Alongside was a small scoop of sour cream and one of guacamole. A mound of yellow rice and a small taco shell cup of red beans rounded out the plate. It was good, but fairly plain tasting. Adding some salt and salsa helped a bit. My husband got a combo with two different options. He wound up taking one part of his lunch home. His meal came with refried beans and yellow rice. If you want a Mexican restaurant with big portions of food and wonderful margaritas then try this place in WPB. There was an awfully long wait for a table and no bar to have cocktails while waiting. The burrito was good but so heavy that I could not finish it and had my husband eat the rest. The margarita was very good and large. I was craving nachos and a friend recommended this location. I typically shop in this plaza at least twice a month and never ever saw this hidden gem. I knew it was a hit because as soon as I walked in the place was packed and this was a Wednesday night. I ordered their loaded nachos, churros and a drink. I'll start off with the nachos. The nachos were everything I had a taste for. No wonder they're award-winning. The churros were good as well. I have had better, but it did satisfy my sweet tooth. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and very welcoming. I love that people were enjoying themselves talking and having a good time. Who doesn't love a good hole in the wall Mexican joint? We came here for cinco de mayo and there was indeed a long wait we waited about 50 mins for our table but the workers were so kind and we could order to go drinks while we waited which helped time pass by. There was also a mariachi band inside the restaurant for the cinco de mayo celebration which was so fun!! Once we sit down we immediately were served their delicious chips and salsa! They then promptly took our order and our food came out shortly after and it was all super delicious and everyone was happy with their meals. My sister and I came here on Christmas Eve's eve. We had a very nice time, and had to only wait five minutes to be seated. We were told it would take 10 minutes to have an inside table. We were impressed per the usual with the portion sizes and the prices. Of course we took home our leftovers and have about two meals left per person. I really enjoyed the fajita, it was steaming hot and well seasoned. Not too salty and not too spicy. The items that it also comes with were good, but I forgot to take a picture. The texanas fajitas were a delicious perfect combination of steak shrimp and chicken with all the onions peppers were amazing the steak was tender the shrimp was seasoned just right so was the chicken, the side platers rice and refried beans were perfectly executed . My wife said her taco salad was the best she had ,this place was packed full of people inside and out I can see now why the food was great , I must admit it was not the best looking or quiet Mexican restaurant I've been to but the staff was attentive friendly right on point . When you see about 18 to 25 people waiting outside you know they must be good food . We got takeout from here. We ordered the arroz con pollo and the chorizopollo. Both were delicious. I didn't take a pic because the trays moved in the car and it all got squished. It wasn't their fault. My only complaint would be the amount of chorizo. When we came in there were a lot of Spanish-speaking patrons which usually is a sign of legit food.
