    Mango margarita
    Sabrina M.

Driving through tonight, we were in desperate need of dinner. This spot had the best Yelp reviews in the area, so we decided to give it a shot. When we pulled up and saw the cracked glass front door, we hesitated. Hard. It looked like the opening scene of a crime drama. But traffic had been hell, and our stomachs won. We pressed on--and we're glad we did. The Pollo Loco was downright delicious: a juicy, thinly smashed chicken breast grilled just right, blanketed in melty cheese and topped with slices of perfectly ripe avocado. I was licking my fork, trying to pretend I had table manners. The refried beans got my attention: "Wait... did they do something special to these?" I seriously considered ordering a pint to go. L devoured his Tacos Barbacoa Salazar and washed it down with a mango margarita, giving both an enthusiastic double thumbs-up. The service was friendly, chill, no-nonsense--just what you want when you've been in a car for hours on the verge of becoming feral. Would 100% stop again. Ignore the door. Trust your gut. This place is a hidden gem.

It was so good! Everyone is super nice and it's so pretty inside. I got the pollo loco and will be coming back. So good!

Food and service were great. Salsa had just the right kind of heat tonight. Pinche Tacos(Beef) and Polo Loco were fresh, hot and delicious.

Don't be deterred by the outside. One of our crew was highly skeptical, then walked in and said "Well this is unexpected!" We had quick and friendly service and enjoyed some fresh salsa and queso that was far above average. The portions were huge and we should have read other reviews first and taken their warning since we were traveling and unable to box up what would have been a few lunches. The food was great and the service friendly. It was busy even on a Tuesday night and we'd highly recommend stopping in!

So I'm writing this as I go at the restaurant as I pulled up to the location I noticed their parking area was kinda small but it was easy to still find parking we got seated right away and shortly after we got are chips and salsa first then our drinks shortly after I had ordered some queso to go along with the chips the homemade salsa is kinda mild if you can't handle spice like my wife it's not for you but I loved it almost went thru 2 cups of it their queso is also delicious but kinda mild at this point I've already received my first refill so you won't have to wait very long my wife had gotten a el pollo and she found it very delicious but didn't like the pineapples I myself hadn't gotten the el burro and found it very good the portion size is great I couldn't really eat all of it and I'm a bigger guy even with a dad bod and the prices for everything are reasonable I would definitely recommend this place and if the owner happens to see this it was a fantastic time it was my first time here I'll definitely come back but if you are interested in bringing more revenue to this place I would suggest getting with DoorDash and uber eats because I think you would honestly double your revenue with getting that delivery service going without extreme hassle on your end

i am not one to give out many 5 star reviews but this place in the middle of kansas had me completely blown away. we got salsa n chips, queso, pollo loco (aka acp/arroz con pollo), and beef enchiladas. chips were nothing crazy but salsa and queso were awesome(tell tale sign of a great mexican place). pollo loco was phenomenal - chicken was perfectly cooked! thin, juicy, but also crispy and flavorful. the side of guac given was generous and very fresh! i highly recommend the charro beans they were extremely flavorful. beef enchiladas were also amazing. the service was scarily quick. the entire resteraunt was a vibe and decorated beautifully (contrary to the outside). the table next to us got margs and i might have to come back for those next time they looked delish. can't say enough amazing things about this place - don't bother with any other place in town.

Good portions & great tasting! I ordered the queso birria tacos & a michelada, delicious! It was a big plate, I'd recommend sharing this one. My husband ordered the Carne asada plate, good portion as well. Meat was tender and nicely seasoned! The service was great! Very friendly & attentive.

It looked really cool as we walked in, late on a Saturday afternoon after an afternoon of sightseeing, although we were kind of surprised that it was not at all busy. We chose it more for the selection of cocktails, because we had eaten a big lunch and weren't that hungry yet. We told our server that, and she let us linger over a cocktail before even asking us if we were ready to eat. She got it! It's a lovely setting, in an old, beautifully renovated space. We were ushered to the area behind the bar and seated at a table. When we first got there, we were the only ones in the room. But as we stayed and sip our cocktails and eventually ate dinner, it filled up nicely. As usual, I drank Manhattans. Seemed appropriate especially because of where we were. Their Black Manhattans were perfectly crafted and very tasty. For dinner I had the Harissa Pork Ragu and my husband had the Fish Tacos. Both were very good, and right-sized portions. Overall, we loved it! We're hoping our travels bring us back through Manhattan sometime so we can come back!

I love eating for free. Being in downtown MHK, it's a relatively small joint. However, the spacing is easy to navigate, and the decor is very mature. They take themselves seriously, as they should! Anywho, tapas is a very European dining style, with small plates designed to not fill you immediately, so you're able to try several items on the menu in one night. After several visits now, I can say with full confidence that everything on the menu is worth trying and worth the money. The drinks are well measured and nicely balanced. They have experienced staff who know their menu, in the sense that their explanations are very informative. Please, treat yourself and get that basque cheesecake. It's pretty amazing! I'd recommend this to any alumni or parent taking a weekend to watch the cats give a beat down on the gridiron, and looking for a nice, memorable dinner with the family. Once again, students beware! Wine Dive Kitchen is a lovely restaurant in downtown Manhattan…read more I found them on OpenTable and booked a reservation for dinner on a Friday night. We were able to get in at 8:15. It was a little late, but they were super busy with a large party in a private room. Once we got in and got seated, the delightful server took excellent care of us. My wife wasn't really hungry so she just nibbled off my plate. I started with a half of a wedge salad, which was delicious. They had a special on a piece of paper that night, which was a smoked pastrami, burnt ends sandwich with homemade rye bread. It was glorious! Very creative and fun. Since I don't love fries, they were kind enough to substitute deviled eggs as my side dish. I didn't know there would be an up charge for that but it's okay because they were delicious. We each had two drinks from the bar and they were made very well. They have a huge wine, seller and a great selection as one would expect by the name of the place. Mind you, the restaurant was basically empty....maybe 4 tables the entire time we were there. On a Kstate game day no less. We very obviously did NOT need a reservation. ‍ Then, we got a snarky attitude from our server for asking for a side of simple syrup for my DIL's unsweetened tea. WTH??!? He had previously been super nice up until that point. He snarkily informed me that he could do that but there would be a charge. Whatever. It was 50 cents for an ounce of sugar water. Anyway, the food was "okay", nothing to write home about. My DIL did really like her burger and our deviled eggs appetizer was great. Something really weird was my scrambled eggs had tiny bits of sausage scrambled into them. I did not like them at all and nowhere on the menu does it indicate there will be sausage in the scrambled eggs. I definitely would not return and do not recommend. Not a very pleasant experience.
