    Fried full red snapper
    Rosemarie S.

The ambience of the flamenco area is full of energy and fun! We found El Pescador to be very crowded the evening we visited. We opted to be seated at the bar so we wouldn't have to wait for a table. The servers were not very personable but the food was fantastic! I highly recommend the fried whole red snapper. It was delicious but pick carefully so you don't get fish bones in your mouth!

Extremely fresh fish tacos and great mango juice. I will definitely eat here again when in Puerto Rico.

Service is relaxed, I got a great table at 1 pm on a Friday and everyone around was just in full vacation mood. I got the calamari, mashed taro and passion fruit mocktail. And may I say that the mocktail and the mashed taro root really were the star. How come I've not had mashed taro root before :(

Right on the beach, beautiful views, lovely atmosphere -- exactly what you want for a special occasion dinner in San Juan. We made a reservation and noted it was a birthday celebration. The staff acknowledged it at check-in, which was a nice touch, but that was the extent of it. Once we were seated, the birthday wasn't mentioned again -- which, for a restaurant at this price point, felt like a missed opportunity. The food was genuinely good. The guacamole was fresh and well-seasoned, served with malanga and tortilla chips -- a nice twist on the classic. The poke bowl was solid, fresh tuna, clean flavors, well-balanced. The star of the table was the grilled octopus with achiote -- tender, flavorful, served over a pigeon peas risotto with truffle oil. Really well executed. Service, though, needed work. Water glasses went empty and stayed that way. Had to flag down the waiter for a second drink. For a restaurant at this price level, that's the kind of thing you notice. The food earns the visit. The service needs to catch up to the setting.

It was recommended by one of our tour guides so it is a great option for both locals and tourists. It had a nice atmosphere and very large menu with many different types of options. The Frutti di mare was one of the best pastas I've ever had! It had almost every type of seafood you could want. A great option for someone who wants to try a bit of everything. It was large enough to satisfy you but not too large where you have to take leftovers it back to your hotel. It also came with a salad and delicious bread. My husband ordered the yucafongo pollo, and was very impressed. It was also filling and well made. The drink menu also had a lot of options. I went with the sangria which was super tasty! It's more on the fruity side. Our service was great and we didn't have to wait long for a table or our food, although it seemed busy. Whether you live in the area or are just on vacation, I would recommended trying it out!

I ordered the Spanish Burger, and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. My husband had the grouper sandwich and is still talking about how delicious it was. We both upgraded our fries to side salads, which were excellent. I chose the mango-pineapple vinaigrette, and it was absolutely delicious. The friends who were dining with us enjoyed their meals just as much. We decided to sit outside because the restaurant is right on the ocean, which made for a beautiful setting. Since we visited in June, it was quite windy, but the view and atmosphere were worth it. Service was outstanding! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Puerto Rico. It was a fantastic way to start our vacation.

Because of that, my group decided to sit inside instead. Interestingly, the same loud party eventually came inside and kindly sent us a round of drinks, which was a really nice gesture. We then ordered our own drinks virgin passionfruit mojitos but they tasted watered down and weren't very good. For food, I ordered the mofongo with ceviche as an appetizer, and it was really good definitely the highlight for me. Others in my group ordered pasta, shrimp, skirt steak, and chicken. Overall, they enjoyed their meals, except for the chicken, which wasn't great, so it was mostly left uneaten. Overall, the experience was just okay. The view outside is nice, but between the cleanliness and drink quality, I'd probably stick to ordering takeout instead of dining in. I might come back to sit outside for the view if the conditions were better.

It's a cool indoor/outdoor restaurant, with a nice sized bar and island decor. I ordered the Red Snapper and the server promptly came over with two for me to pick from before they cooked it to my liking. I chose grilled over fried. It took a little while for them to prepare it but it was well worth the wait. That snapper was freakin delicious!! So much so, I convinced her the next day to check out Cayo Caribe instead of Sushi. We started off with a couple drinks and calamari. She chose the grilled red snapper and I chose fried snapper this time. Honestly, mine was fried a bit too long, so I regreted not going with grilled again :( Cayo Caribe is must go for anyone that's visiting PR and loves fish. The fish was beautifully cooked - crispy on the outside while maintaining moisture. No overcooked meat here. Even the rice stood out, which says a lot. Everything worked together in a way that felt thoughtful and memorable. Despite having limited time on my Puerto Rico trip, this is one of those meals I'd actually come back for, maybe even order the exact same dish again. The flavors really stayed with me, and I already want to take them home.

The place still look very fancy, but I've been fancier places... First, it is definitely on the pricey side. We ordered three pastas, three appetizers, three drinks, and 2 Fiji waters bottles -- and were also charged for the birthday cake. The total came out to almost $400, service fee of $50! which was surprising. While the staff was amazing, attentive, and very kind (I truly have no complaints about the service), the food unfortunately didn't match the price point. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable or worth what we paid. Overall, great service -- but for the cost, I expected more from the food.
