What good Mexican place ISNT a hole in the wall right? Had the quesadilla al pastor - it was legit delicious - the barbecue meat, pineapple, and onion combination was smoky goodness. Service was great - not sure why other people said service was bad- went on a Thursday night at around 8pm. The waitress was attentive and got my food fast. This place is fantastic. I always get takeout and the wait is minimal, the staff is attentive and friendly and if they're out of a particular ingredient later at night (guacamole) they'll offer something else (a whole lotta fresh pico de gallo). Food isn't breaking any new ground and doesn't look like anything special, but it's delicious, plentiful and authentic. It's good for breakfast, late night drunk binges and everything in between. What a disappointing experience! I yelped around for good Mexican food in my area and chose this place because of the positive reviews and closeness to my house. However both the food and service were lacking. My girlfriend and I grabbed a table and waited to see if anyone would greet us. After waiting, I walked up to the counter to see if we can get an order in. There was a man near the register, doing something, but didn't acknowledge me more than a look up from what he was doing, then back to his activity. Eventually a family member took my order. I ordered the chilaquiles, without meat (I'm vegetarian) and my girlfriend ordered the fish tacos. The menu says that my meal comes with rice and beans, but it didn't come with rice. When I asked the server she also told me it didn't come with it. The beans were borderline cold, about room temp, and lacked flavor. This was my first time ordering chilaquiles, but I can say that I wasn't a fan. There were no onions, minimal cheese, and the chips were super soggy. I only ate the eggs, leaving the chips and beans. The waitress never cared to ask if everything was okay. When the bill came, my meal was three dollars more than the menu's stated price. To be clear, the chilaquiles came meatless and with three eggs, so maybe two dollars more than stated. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she insisted that I was wrong, telling me that my meal came with meat. Again, I'm vegetarian so it was annoying to argue that I didn't order meat. I gave up the argument and just gave her the check price. The silver lining was that their chips were homemade and the salsa verde was pretty good. I am excited to try the other, more deserving Mexican restaurants in the future. read more

This review is a little late, but this was my go-to Mexican delivery/pick-up spot when I lived in the area. The food was always delicious, and the delivery was so quick that they sometimes threatened to beat me home if I called them on my way back from work. My favorites from here are their sopes and their quesadillas - my boyfriend still talks about the chorizo quesadillas from here, they were always super satisfying. I miss going to this place, I'm gonna have to stop here if I'm ever back in the heights! read more

I ordered a Semita (sesame seed bun sandwich) here in hopes of satisfying a my Mexican cravings. Boy was I disappointed, this sandwich was missing ingredients. One of the most Important ingredients: the avocado. I was half way through the door about to chow down on this sandwich when I looked through and saw my avocado missing. How are you still in business doing these petty acts.You cannot advertise and market a product that you do not have. When I tried to confront the clerk, she looked at me blank faced and completely ignored me. She just walked away from me. Talk about customer service. I will not eat at this establishment again. The food from here is really good, authentic Mexican food. I got the huevos rancheros, which were yummy, although the spicy green sauce was a bit heavy. Perhaps the dine in experience would be better, because delivery was a mess. The restaurant called me to say they didn't have the beverage I ordered bc it was too early (11am), then called to ask my address (even though it's clearly marked on the GrubHub printout), then called again to say the delivery guy was outside the building, and then again to say I wasn't buzzing him in. The buzzer never actually rang until after the last time they called. The alternate beverage I ordered had spilled so I only got half of it, which meant that the packaging for the rest of the order was dripping with spilled beverage, However, the delivery guy was super nice and sweet, and I think if they could iron out the delivery issues, they would be a 5-star worthy yelp review. read more

Walked randomly into this spot and glad I did. I was originally going to ask for a burrito but then realized they had one of my favorite Mexican dishes that rarely get offered in other restaurants. 'Costillas en salsa verde'. The waitress asked me if I was ok with spicy and for a good reason because they were flaming hot. Just how I like them. The tortillas that came with the dish were also piping hot. Overall speedy service, no crowd, nice spot. 4 stars only because their ac was spitting water. The worst Mexican food and customer service I've ever experienced. We ordered chicken quesadillas and they sent flour tortillas with chicken in corn shells with NO CHEESE. They also sent Sopes that are described with cheese without cheese. I ordered them with spicy chicken and they had NO FLAVOR.
