I came into town for a conference. Looking for a quick bite but not fast food, I found this place on yelp. Though the rating was 5 stars, there were only 5 reviews, so with slight hesitation I decided to check it out anyway. As soon as we walked into the door, we were early greeted and was given a menu. The cashier was friendly and helpful. I decided to order the quarter chicken with two sides choosing cilantro rice & fresh vegetables as well as horchata. Once ordered, we were given a number and sat down for our food. It's a small place with 4 small tables and a few counter seats. There are also outdoor seating. The food was quickly brought to our table and we enjoyed our meals. I liked the Peruvian chicken and the sides. It is flavorful and for me is enough. Because I ordered dark meat, the protein is smaller. Next time I probably would go for the white meat or half chicken. Everything was tasty and I paid less than $13 which nowadays is reasonable. The horchata had the right amount of sweetness and cinnamon. The cashier was friendly and came over & checked on us. Overall a good place for a quick bite. I would likely come back and try other offerings.

The food is great, very fresh and flavorful. My father and I dined in because I was craving Peruvian chicken. I got the 1/4 white meat with two sides or french fries and Cilantro rice while my father got the same entree but with fried rice and fresh veggies. The entrees and all four sides were delicious. Staff was also very friendly, I highly recommend.

Okay, listen. I do not say this lightly, but El Pollo Cool's chicken might just be the best rotisserie chicken I have ever had and I have had my fair share of birds. Juicy, tender, perfectly seasoned, and that crispy golden skin is absolute perfection. But let us talk about the real star of the show. The green sauce. I do not know what kind of magic they are working with back there, but I would happily dip everything I eat for the rest of my life in that sauce. Fries, chicken, rice, my car keys. I do not care. That green sauce is absolutely life changing. Spicy, creamy, tangy, it hits every note like a salsa made by angels with serious flavor skills. You walk in expecting a good meal, and you leave already planning when you are coming back. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the portions are generous. read more

This spot is really unassuming, I've driven by a bunch of times and never noticed it. A friend recommended getting a family dinner there last Friday and so we did. The restaurant is very small and narrow. There are some tables to sit at, but I wouldn't recommend eating in house unless your party is 2 or less. It's also a wee bit run down looking, though clean. That said, we ordered 2 full chickens, and that came with 4 sides - we went with fries, plantains, rice, and beans. Long story short, everything was delicious and I want to pour the accompanying green sauce on my life! Plus all this wonderful food was probably around $60 with tip. Can't beat it. read more

1st time I went was good, 2nd, not so much. Meat was dry. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but I haven't been back. I hate to be disappointed when I have Mexican style food; because for a little longer drive I can go the taco truck man and always feel satisfied. Maybe I'll give them 1 more chance, to support my local businesses. read more

Not sure how this place doesn't have more reviews. El Pollo Cool serves some of the best peruvian chicken and sides that are second to none. And, I know my peruvian chicken...from Lima's in Annapolis to Pollo Rico in Silver Spring, Maryland (and a few more in between), El Pollo Cool touches all the bases when it comes to crispy skin on the outside with moist and perfectly seasoned chicken on the inside. The rice and black beans are equally good but the star of the meal is the chicken (as it should be!). They provide the typical mild/white sauce and green mole sauce for dipping. Very small and unassuming place in a strip mall, only a few tables inside but there is outdoor seating at tables with umbrellas. The owner and staff were friendly and hospitable. I will return!!!! read more

They fixed the green sauce! So good now -- lots of cilantro and heat. Definitely 5 stars. Same order as before but with the addition of sandwiches and fries. We usually go to Sardis but this place is by far, so much better! The food was so fresh and packed with flavor. We will definitely be back. We got the whole chicken and yucca and my 5 year old loved the fettuccine! It was delicious. read more
