For fried chicken it's all about the batter and seeing it online on LB Food Coma's page made me want to try it. I was on the fence on getting the tenders but pulled the trigger to try their wings. They were so crispy and I got their "country" spice level which is no spice haha. They were big wings too! The fries were also solid as well and had some paprika or some spice on top of it which was good. I would say this a pretty slept on place in Long Beach and would definitely come back. There's plenty of seating inside and parking isn't a problem too.

So we grabbed a couple of friends and went to Long Beach to check this place out! It is located on a side street but you can find parking in a small lot with the bar that this place is attached to. I'm assuming the bar orders from them to pass the food on to their patrons which is pretty cool imho. Anyways the inside itself is pretty tiny. I forgot to take a picture but it had LA Dodger colored sport figure heads painted on the wall. Pretty cool! (Even coming from an Angels fan) The prices itself are pretty pricey. I had to go for the Mike Tyson Burger. It was $18 for the burger and didn't include any drink or fries which kind of sucks honestly haha. I opted to pay for some fries and drink. Sadly, the soft drink machine is broken here and had to get a can soda. My food came out and please note that the fries come as a basket of fries only, so if you're eating solo and wanted some sides come hungry for sure haha. The burger itself looked really delicious! They had a special sauce on them and really thick patties but how did it taste? It was pretty good! The sauce served with it was delicious and paired well with the pastrami and the beef patties. The burger itself then became pretty messy but overall it was really good. The dudes at the front were really chill and even hooked us up with some ranch when they usually charge. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food. But was it "the best burger place ever" as my in law claims? No haha. Don't get me wrong it's a really good burger place but the price for my entire meal was around $35. Definitely got what I paid for but I think you can get a quality burger with fries and drink for a way cheaper price. And you know with a working soda machine. I would say get a burger fix here if you got the money for it. The Mike Tyson did definitely knock me out!

Fried Chicken 3 piece combo leg wing and thigh a biscuit mashed potatoes and gravy and a side of jambalaya. The chicken leg is seasoned well but in my opinion overcooked and a little dry but the overall flavor and crispy coating was good. 8/10 This chicken is small but I'm not mad at that I don't care for huge pieces of chicken. Chicken Wing it's very small a bit dry and it tastes very good. 8/10 Chicken Thigh Crunchy crispy and delicious my favorite piece of chicken. 10/10 Biscuit The flavor and texture similar to Popeyes but more flavorful and buttery it's good. With 3,500 locations across the country (mostly in gas stations, convenience stores, and travel centers), I have to guess that I've eaten their products at some point in the past, but I just don't remember. This location, inside of a Shell gas station just on the outskirts of Cambodia Town, was a good opportunity to try it for a take-home lunch on a Sunday. Our family of three found the chicken to be quite good, with delicious biscuits, very good potato wedges, and OK mashed potatoes and rice and beans, at value prices. KKC operates as a food service partner, not a royalty or franchisee model, providing product, equipment, and graphics to individual stores for a charge. They also then take a percentage of the store chicken sales. This would seem to make them competitors of large convenience stores that have hot food sales, along with stand-alone chicken chains like KFC and Popeyes and the popular Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken (LFFC) popular around here. Guessing most people would not consider getting fried chicken as an impulse buy while paying for gas, but with most gas-buying consumers never even entering the store, this would seem like an opportunity to use already existing real estate to good use. Also, since most people would do carry out, one doesn't need dine-in space and all the manpower that it entails. For this store, my guess is that there were only two people: front of store and one manning the kitchen in the back. And because employees are usually family in a place like this, they take better care in preparing the food than a typical wage worker The first thing you notice when you walk in is the rows of fried chicken, neatly displayed close to the front, so one can see the nooks and cranny of it all. This can turn out bad (e.g. the chicken at a grocery deli, all jumbled together with the breading coming off), but in this case, I knew the chicken was going to be good. Is is goofy to say that the chicken was beautifully displayed? I ordered the Chicken Family Meal ($28.79 for 12 pc, 6 biscuits, and family size of potato wedges). Added a regular side of Red Beans & Rice ($2.99) and mashed potatoes ($2.99), both of which were pre-packaged. They have jambalaya on the menu, but the attendant told me it was only available on weekdays. Payment was via the same POS used for gas or beverage purchases (not sure what the credit card company would categorize the purchase to be, though would guess a retail convenience store purchase instead of a fast food restaurant one). We quickly brought it home, and we agreed that the chicken was very good when eaten fresh. They were huge pieces, the wings being as big as the size of Wingstops, and bigger than any of their fried chicken competitors. This would comfortably feed a family of 5 or 6. There wasn't as much Cajun flavor as what is found at Popeyes. The Jojo potatoes were also giant in size, batter coated in cajun seasoning, and deep fried well. The red beans and rice and mashed potatoes were not as good, probably the same quality as what one would find in a grocery store deli. The biscuits were some of the moistest biscuits, pretty much disintegrating as you ate them. The extra honey given was not needed, as each had plenty on top. There are a lot of value fried chicken places in the area, and KKC is as good as any, with great value.

My partner and I got the chicken/steak teriyaki plate that came with a salad, slice of cucumber and thousand island dressing(they have ranch and Italian) the surprise was the grilled jalapeño that came with the plate. Mine was spiciest of the two. I really enjoyed the meat, but my favorite was the steak. The sauce that came with it was good and the rice was terrific. The price for it was reasonable so I would definitely make this my go-to spot for Teriyaki. They do make burritos, wraps and burgers so might want to try those one day but happy that my experience at this new spot was excellent.
