This location was terrible. I order 2 double chicken tostada. One order I said beans and rice on the side and the other one with the beans and rice inside of the salad. How about the food was cold, the chicken was dried out and I am like I thought it was double chicken and I barely got chicken on both orders and never recieved my beans and rice on the side. The lettuce did not taste fresh and the customer service was terrible. How in the world I pay $11.00 for each meals and my food is disgusting. This place is extremely inconsiderate of customer's food and don't care about if food is fresh or not just all about money. I do not recommend this place to my family's dog. read more

Just left the new El Pollo Loco. All I can say is that the food was amazing it was hot and fresh off the grill. It's not KFC or Popeyes where they're chicken sits under lights. You can see the open grills at work. Those who wait get rewarded and by wait I mean wait like 5 minutes. Kelvin the manager was super friendly and walked around greeting guest. Absolutely terrible. The service one was very bad they did not know what the hell they were doing. The guy messed up completely on my order I ordered a Baja shrimp taco with cheese, cilantro and sour cream on a flour tortilla and i got tacos on corn tortillas with only shrimp and cheese thank god I have sour cream at home I could use. We also ordered a large queso and it has absolutely no flavor it looks like a mashed potato consistency (I honestly thought it was at first). The only thing I enjoyed was the avocado salsa. I was so excited when El Pollo Loco came to the Houston area. I would visit them when in California. I was even more excited to find one not too far from my new home. However I will not be returning! There was a simple error made on my order. The horchata machine was not working correctly, and mine was watery. They also forgot to place my tortillas with my order. I called the restaurant when I realized the error and the "manager" Michelle was very apologetic and just told me to stop by next time I was in the area. We did just that, but the person I spoke to gave me a hard time. No, I did not have my receipt with me. She however treated me as though I was making up the entire story. She essentially told me that the "manager" Michelle did not even exist. She humiliated me over basically a soft drink. I called corporate to tell them what had occurred when I went back to the restaurant, and they had that same person to call me. She left a message on my answering machine. How do you complain to the person who you are complaining about? I called corporate again and still no response nearly a year later. My initial complaint was just to get my order corrected, but then my larger complaint was how I was treated when I went back. I believe her name was Marisel. Nevertheless, I will not be going back to that location. Why a company would loose a customer over a drink and tortillas is beyond me. I work in customer service and would of just replaced the drink and probably even gave something with the tortillas. Looks like they don't need my money! read more

I usually like this place, but it has been harder and harder to go there and get something, so I'm reducing how often I try them. I went there last week and nobody came to the register and asked what I want, so I left after about 5 or 10 minutes, and ate someplace else. It is sad to see them go down hill and deteriorate like another favorite of mine Taco Cabana. Now at both places they are just not really interested in their own business and it shows. The two places are so similar I wonder if they have the same management. I like the food, if I can get them to serve it. I don't really feel it is my job as a customer to demand "hey could you get over here and take my order" or flap my arms around trying to get attention. If a customer is not noticed at the register after a while it is time to give up. If they are not filled with zeal when a customer comes up to the counter, it's time to give up. However their tortillas like frozen heated up tortillas that are usually pretty raw. Service I give a 3 out of ten. Also asked for extra hot sauce and both times the cashier at drive thru window looked as if being asked for a HUGE favor. So so happy they opened a location near me!! I'm in love with this location, it is very clean and the open windows and seating is great. I love how when you order you can glance back and see the chicken legs roasting on the oven in the back. The menu is well put together & their burritos are out of this world. I'm obsessed with the homemade chips.. best tortilla chips I've had & the salsa bar for a "help yourself" of salsa and pico de gallo.. it is also very in expensive, 10 out of 10 place!! Well, I was excited for the new location here in lackluster Cypress where it's a dry area for quality restaurants. However, after a 25 minute wait in the drive thru just to be told they are out of shrimp was a HUGE disappointment. Their chicken is ok but as one reviewer commented about finding bones and tough skin, I wasn't too quick to order that again. I told the guy at the window "No, thanks" and proceeded to drive off into a flooded parking lot. Hope there is no damage to my car as there was no other way out. Ugh! read more

Bad decision... first of all, we were waiting in line to order we started observing the food cooking in the open and no one had hair nets.. hats were on, but hair was hanging out of it.. not to mention no one was wearing gloves.. one employee was spraying chemicals within arms reach of the next station, where someone's taco bowl was being prepared with out gloves.... Not to mention the cashier/cook didn't have gloves on either not did he was his hands after her took an order then ran to flip chicken... What a disappointment.... No thanks...
