I came back twice after my first visit. They have improved their operations. Staff ware masks and gloves at all time while working in the kitchen. They were very flexible if customers want to use the coupons. Food is always hot and tasty. However, I would recommend they call by the order number instead of by customer name. I understand that the management want customers to feel special like the way Starbucks does. But there is a solid wall/partition between the register and the seating area. Employees have to shout the customer name out loud. Calling by name seems really nice from the MBA classes but it is not practical for this situation. Well, congratulations! I came here because I received the add in the mail for the lunch box and coupons on the back. I decided I would get the lunch box with bbq chicken based on the advertisement, then I got there and they don't even offer it and did not make any effort to honor the ad. Ended up getting the box with the quesadilla and the grande avocado bowl. The food was okay. Box came with chips, a plain churro, & beans (that were advertised as street corn). The bowl didn't come with chips or tortillas, but you can add them. I received my order quickly so if you're in a hurry this could be a good option. Overall I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Their fire grill chicken is one of the better fast food options. I usually get half a chicken and it comes with two sides. I get mash potato and rice. The avocado green sauce is the BOMB! and its made at every location. No matter what you get, you have to ask for that green sauce! Several people trying to get in but staff just stares at us as we try to get them to open the doors. We called and no answer, and no note in the door as to why. Just Incase there was a robbery taken place we called the police as we left. No robbery. What a shame. I'm starting to think that El Pollo Loco intentionally messes up delivery orders since they won't have to answer for it in the long run. Doesn't matter if it's uber eats or grubhub, my order is NEVER right. Today was my last order at the Irving location because of this. I did not get my drink with the 4 piece combo I ordered. My salad did not have any dressing and I only got 1 churro when the order comes with 2. All these short sights must save them a ton of money in the long run but they are losing my money for their constant mess ups. And it's a shame since I love the food. But I guess my best way to enjoy it is whenever I can return to Sinaloa or even Los Angeles for that matter after COVID because I never receive the terrible short sights at those locations like I do with this location. If your clean eating you'll fall in love because everything is full of flavor. & if your not clean eating you'll still fall in love. It's a good middle point. Haha. Say yas to chicken cooked via open flames! They also have a salsa bar similar to taco cabana - but the flavor definitely surpasses cabana. (Sorry boo!) I'm from California, where El Pollo Loco is beloved, and the food/service is consistently high quality. This location in Irving, TX is not living up to EPL's reputation. There were multiple things very wrong: 1. Dining area was visibly DIRTY; food debris all over tables and floors. My husband had to go get the dish rag himself and wipe down our tables and chairs before we could sit down. Multiple employees were around but didn't notice/care/act. And they could have; it's not like the restaurant was busy by any means. 2. I ordered "Dine in" but we were not provided with plates nor silverware; I had to keep going back to the counter to ask for these basics that come with a "Dine in" order. 3. The flauta combo plate is a huge rip-off. Advertised to come with a side of sour cream and a side of guacamole. There was a tiny spoonful of each of those plopped on top, and the guacamole is like... instant/from a can/gross. The flautas *would have* been good except that they had a mountain of WET lettuce dumped on top of them, and they were soggy before we even had a chance to sit down. NO ONE needs 4 handfuls of wet lettuce on top of 3 crunchy flautas. My toddler loves flautas but wouldn't even give them a chance because they were soaking wet. Waste of 8 dollars. 4. The mac & cheese was overcooked/soggy - The noodles were not intact; it was like wheat paste/mush with cheese sauce. I used to love this mac & cheese. 5. When I went to the counter to ask for a plate, and then returned to ask for silverware, and told the employees about the dirty tables, they were apathetic / not responsive. A bunch of teenagers just doing the minimum and waiting for their paychecks. No manager or responsible person in sight. One boy was on his phone when there were no customers at the counter; he should have been sweeping! 6. This location has failed to get the chicken done right; it's nothing like the quality and taste of the chicken in the Los Angeles locations. The first time we went, it was completely burnt; this time, it was just teeny tiny and skimpy- My husband said it looked like they had killed a pigeon and thrown it on the grill. We won't be going back. Sadly, here in Texas, El Pollo Regio wins in quality, effort, customer service, value, and they DON'T drown the flautas in cheap, wet lettuce. read more
