    Dave's #1 2 Tenders w/ Fries Dave's #3 1 Tender & 1 Slider w/ Fries

Tried Dave's hot chicken from a YouTube review recommendation. It was pretty good! I got medium spice which really wasn't that spicy at all. Definitely a dry rub, not saucy. Fries were seasoned well. They give big portions of chicken and food overall. The service was quick for a Friday lunch hour. Clean tables and seating area. Would eat here again.

Very minimalistic / open inside, and modern. It's a chicken place... tenders, and sliders only (see included pic of the menu)... however, you can choose how "hot" you want them... kind of like wings? Initially thought they were overpriced, until I saw their portion size! Very pleasantly surprised! Super fast service, hot/fresh chicken. The chicken itself was very moist. I'm not certain how to describe the breading, other than it was minimal and very good (it was kind of like a ). Their tenders are at least twice the size of everybody else's. They give you all the dipping sauce you want, at no extra charge! Comes with crinkle-cut french fries, with the chicken on a slice of bread and pickle slices! We did not order the slider, however, we were told That it comes on a bun with cheese, sauce and coleslaw (on it), interesting! A lot of people came and went, while we were there. Appears to be a very popular place, and I can see why! Very fast service and great chicken! We will absolutely be returning!

Dave's Hot Chicken was a great lunch time decision for me. I was greeted by the manager. I think his name was Jason. Very cool guy, had a good little chat and gave a good recommendation. I got the one slider (medium) with then fries. All the food was fresh, great flavor and very clean inside. I would probably go for a higher spice level, but great experience. Check em out.

First time having Dave's Hot Chicken. There is one opening in Hurst but we couldn't wait and made the drive to Irving. The service was good, less than 10 minute wait in the drive through. The order consisted of a #1 lite mild, #2 hot, & #3 mild and a regular pink lemonade for the drive home. All of this was $45. The portions are huge. I would have been fully satisfied with the #4 slider and fries, but we went all out. My order was the #3 mile. The slider was so good. The slaw and pickles really set the slider off. My only complaint is that I wish my chicken was crispier! Maybe dining in is a better option for that. The fries and seasoning was really good. Nice and crispy outside and soft on the inside. And the sauce has a nice balance of sweet and salty. I would definitely go again!

My first time here. I ordered the #3 (1 slider & 1 tender) Medium heat. The fries were excellent and the sauce put em over the top! The restaurant is pretty open and most seating is movable. It didn't take long for the order to be ready. I'll be back!

The food was pricey but was it worth it...YES! We traveled about 35 minutes to try Dave's in Irving and I must say it was pretty good! We took it to go and it tasted amazing for having traveled 35 minutes with it! It's wasn't soggy, it was packaged very well and the heat level was right on the spot! If it tasted that good at home, I can only imagine how much better it would have tasted if we dined in. We had tenders, sliders, slaw, mac and fries and tried several different heat levels...they did not disappoint! I would say the service was amazing given the fact that they packaged our food SO well that it maintained its freshness on our long drive!

Must say, I got the hot and it has a good bite to it.

While the place is hopping service is so so. Kind a clean, not really clean but clean enough. Staff was okay. Ordered the hot chicken strips. Yum. Has a good bite and is crunchy. They give you pickles and if you place them on the strip and bite into it..... mind blowing flavor. After a few bites the heat kicks in and I'm impressed. The chicken is so juicy, it is not dry at all, what's the secret? If not for the okay service they would have had four stars. But the chicken is very good!!

Popped into the drive through to give this flashy looking place a try and what a great decision!! Simple menu, great customer service with assistance taking the order through receiving it. I ordered the 2 sliders with a coke and a chocolate shake (for a personal celebration). It was tough being inside the car while driving back as I wanted to pull over and eat it immediately! It really smelled delightful! The mild spice level is the perfect heat level for those of us with sensitive mouths. WOW, the flavors are the star of this meal! Add to them, the crunch of slaw, freshness of the buns, crisp dill pickle slices, and crinkle cut thin fries all boost really good food over the top. The chocolate shake could have used a bit more chocolate flavor, but it was creamy, not too sweet and perfect size. The Coke had the perfect amount of ice, enough to chill the drink AND have room for the drink. The meal was well packaged, an orderly delicious appearance, sufficient quality napkins (none of those super thin worthless brown ones), flatware and their own brand ketchup. Individually, a solid 4 stars on all components. But together, a solid 5 stars!

We have been wanting to try this new fried chicken franchise. It is a little more upscale than your average fried chicken restaurant. It is also a little more pricey. We ordered the Tenders and Chicken Slider Meals. We did not get the most spicy but we will get one level below the spiciest level next time. Overall, the quality was good and the chicken was made to order. We also had the Mac and Cheese and Coleslaw. Both were pretty good. The service was good but on par with Chic Fil A or Canes. The atmosphere was a little more hipster. The chicken was tasty. We will come back again.

Tried Dave's hot chicken for the first time and it did not disappoint. The chicken itself was fried to perfection. Crispy exterior, juicy interior. I got the medium seasoning. It wasn't spicy at all so next time I'll get hot. I wanted ranch but sadly they don't have ranch. Thats the only downside for me. Their Daves sauce wasn't nasty but it's not for me. One of my coworkers told me to put honey on the chicken so I did and it was delicious! The fries were also perfect and seasoned really well. Even the pickles were good but I'm a pickle lover! It was a solid meal though and I'm glad I finally made it here.

Initially not the friendliest crew but the manager was ON it!!! He was doing everything & I appreciate that. I got the platter & made it hot, everything was really good (the pickles weren't my thing). The artwork on the outside & inside of the restaurant was cool. I'd go back.

Art in the lobby. A nod to the restaurant brand's beginnings in LA.

This is LA's take on Nashville Hot Chicken...fried chicken that's dunked in hot, spicy oil, then sprinkled with more hot spices and served up fresh. Except on this visit -- on a Monday at noon -- the chicken tenders served were not cooked to order but, instead, seemed plucked from under a heat lamp. The tenders were not as fresh, as say, Raising Cane's. The heat levels here are hotter than most spicy chicken places. Anything above mild/medium and you won't be able to taste the chicken. To offset the heat, Dave's loads up the sprinkled spices with sugar. I like the heat, but the sugar was too much for me. As was the decor. The walls are spray painted with graffiti--by design -- a nod to the restaurant's origins on the streets of LA. It kinda feels like you're dining in a subway station. Clean, but still ugly.

#4 1 Slider with Fries Side of Dave's Sauce
    Juanita W.

Chicken sandwich with fries to go. Rating 3.5 stars because the French fries and chicken was still hot. Fries were cooked well and had enough salt on them to my liking. The chicken and sauce is average. I prefer seasoned chicken. The sandwich had too many pickles and one half of the bun was wet as a result. I'm not a fan of cheese with my chicken either; however, someone ordered and brought the meal for me to try it. It's not the worst I had.

One hot and one extra hot tender.

When we walked in, it was only people of color, so that indicator probably meant that i was in for a good authentic meal. The interior had multiple tables spreads around and on the right side of the building it was where the people were taking orders and preparing the food to take to your table. We ended up getting coco bread, chicken stew and half jerk chicken with fries. The stew came with two side dishes, so we ended up getting rice&peas and collar greens. The jerk chicken only came with fries but it was only 13 bucks. you do have the option to get jerk chicken with two sides, but that would have been 19 dollars. The coco bread was really fully and if you dip it into the stew chicken, it takes it to another level. Both dishes were excellent and the kick on the jerk chicken was spicy but not too bad where you couldn't enjoy it. Service was great, and they were friendly. Located right behind the McDonalds. All in all, i'll come back if i'm in the area.

Overall I rate this place 8 s/10. ------------ The Zinger burger (basically a spicy chicken sandwich) is my go to order from here, a solid 8.5/10. They always put a huge chicken patty in there and a generous amount of sauce. You really can't go wrong. Their chicken itself is an 8/10, upgraded to 8.5 with the garlic sauce. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Tupelo Honey is a stand-alone restaurant conveniently located near Hwy 114 and 161. There's plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a mixture of tables, booths, and bar seating. Speaking of the bar, it acts as a beautiful backdrop for the entire restaurant. 1 Star. Service - The service is always friendly. Our server is always smiling, and I can't help but feel welcome with southern charm. Tupelo Honey trains its staff well, and I really enjoy coming here and interacting with the staff. 1 Star. Food - I always begin with the Biscuits with a Cause. These light, flakey biscuits are served warm with a crispy exterior and soft, flakey inside. But honestly, the biscuits act as a delivery mechanism for the butter and blue berry jam. I always ask for an extra side of butter and jam because I use it all. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Honey Dusted Fried Chicken (dark). The chicken was perfectly fried, crispy, and sweet. And the dark meat was juicy. Pro Tips - use your hands. Another great dish was experienced. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I have yet to have a below average dish at Tupelo Honey. Yes, it's a chain. But it's also a darn good chain that keeps its menu fresh and is worth multiple visits. 1 Star.
