My husband absolutely loves tacos. We used to go to Taco Bueno but that was before he discovered Taco Casa. I stopped here on the way from work. I was able to pick up six tacos in the drive through and be on my way in no time. It was easy to hear the order taker and the employees were friendly. Always get some sauce. Think the world of fast food is a wasteland as of late? Well, don't lose hope yet- Taco Casa is here to shatter your previous notions of what fast food has become. I cannot stress enough just how amazing this place is! What impresses me most about Taco Casa is the food. It's great quality and tastes REAL because it is REAL. Everytime I have ever eaten here, the food is always served hot, fresh and it's made with care. I never have to order "extra" anything like I do at other places because they are very generous with the cheese and sauces. They have pictures of their menu items displayed, and in reality- the items look identical to the pictures. Can you really say the same for other fast food chains? Going back to the taste of the food- it's top notch. This is how fast food Americanized Mexican should taste. I stress "Americanized" because it's an interpretation of what tacos and burritos are, so once you acknowledge that, it's easy to see how Taco Casa effectively reigns supreme in that realm. They are not trying I be anything other than Americanized fast food, and they do it so well because they embrace that. TC also takes great care in the presentation of the food. For example, if you order a burrito to go; they carefully wrap in and place it in a cardboard nacho trey so that the burrito does not leak in transit. How thoughtful is that? The staff here is also fantastic. They are incredibly polite and diligent. The morale around here appears to be high, as everyone here always has a smile on their face and the dining area is always very clean and inviting. They also do not skimp on things like sturdy drink cups. Far too often in this day an age, pretty much all fast food drinks arrive in flimsy paper cups. These TC drink cups are the real deal and the ice they use are the little rough cubes that in my opinion; are the best for effectively chilling drinks. I'm totally convinced there is a team of brilliant people making these decisions for TC, but ultimately, I bet they just use common sense and their gut to steer them in the right direction. They basically do everything right, and in this day in age it's so rare to see an organization not compromising. I hope that whoever owns TC never sells it. I want it to always be this good. I want to commend Taco Casa for not compromising. In an age where everything is all about economizing and substituting inferior components; TC is doing the opposite. They are making great food and are still able to offer the food at affordable prices. As long as they continue to do things in this manner, I know that their business will only continue to grow, and the legion of dedicated Taco Casaites like myself will only continue to increase. read more

It feels so weird giving a fast food place 5 stars! And I typically don't eat fast food. But this is in a league of its own! I've passed by here several times and never even thought to try it. One of my GF's friends was telling her about it in a random conversation so we decided to give it a try. We both were pleasantly surpised and impressed. This is no Taco Bell folks. This is just what you need when you crave a taco. It reminds me of a small family owned place in my hometown called Los Amigos. Very tasty and flavorful tacos. Loads of real, finely shredded cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. You won't be disappointed. The menu is simple. All beef, no chicken. You can get tacos, taco salad, burritos. It's that simple. Food is great when it's made correctly, the past two visits I've had the short brown head cashier/ food maker take my order and make it wrong each time. I've have been charged twice for my food and had to wait a couple of weeks to get reimbursed and had extra money added to my debit card, a make named Nick took my order and processed my payment as well, and one of the cashier at the drive thru makes you stretch to get your debit card and food from her, she will not even try to get it closer to your car. read more

Always super clean and friendly. Ok, so I'm not super big on fast food but I can't lie, this is quietly one of my favorite places. All of their food is served à la carte. The tostadas and soft tacos are my favorite. Their sweet tea is to die for. Well, maybe not die but it's really good! Their stores are always super clean, and they actually clear the tables for you!! The staff is friendly and the handful of times I've had a long wait or a dissatisfactory experience, they always give you a coupon for your next visit! So basically. Taco Casa is great. Stopped in for 99 cent Taco Tuesday. Was informed that this location does not participate in the Taco Tuesday promo. Ay caramba! Cashier was very polite and the manager prepared my order pronto. The tacos are tasty as is the spicy bean burrito, even if the tacos weren't 99 cents. The location is very clean, but a slight pain to get to due to ongoing construction in the heart of Irving on 183, which is more screwed up than the Mexican government. In addition, they are hiring. I really like Americanized Mexican fast food (and I refuse to be ashamed of it) and Taco Casa is my absolute favorite place for this type of food. It is fast and it is affordable, but what's far more important is that the food is REALLY good. They use real ingredients and don't skimp on the good stuff. For instance, our order today included crunchy tacos, which had literally 10 times the amount of cheese as what you would get at Taco Casa's so-called competitors (Taco Bell, Bueno, etc) - and it's real cheese, finely shredded and piled on - not like the few strings of tasteless yellow stuff they put on tacos elsewhere. Every item is filled up and overflowing with real, fresh food. Admittedly the tacos we got today were greasy, but they were absolutely delicious. One of the filtered reviews for this location mentions greasy tacos (the review was still positive though), so that may be an issue they have at this location; I have only eaten here once, so I can't say for sure. But it is not an issue I have ever had at other Taco Casa locations, and I have had far more than my share of tasty Taco Casa tacos at their other locations. Menu items I would strongly recommend are the Taco Lite and the Chilada. "Taco Lite" is a complete misnomer and as names go, is actually kind of funny once you get your hands on a Taco Lite. I wish I had thought to take pictures. Basically, the Taco Lite is a bigger, better taco served on a fried flour tortilla that dwarfs regular crunchy tacos. It is crammed full of ground beef, tons of real cheese, sour cream, lettuce, and lots of tomatoes. The Chilada is a like an enchilada but, you may have guessed already, bigger! It consists of lots of ground beef and refried beans wrapped burrito-style in a flour tortilla, topped with a tasty red enchilada sauce, a mountain of melted cheddar cheese, and black olives. They also make really good sweet tea; its quality is on par with the sweet tea at Chicken Express, another local franchise restaurant that "does it right." Things you need to understand about Taco Casa: -This is not a tacqueria. They are not even trying to be authentic. There are no little corn tortillas, there is no al pastor or bistek. If that's what you are after, you probably already know where to get it. -The menu is not long or complicated. Most items involve ground beef and/or refried beans. What they do, though, they do really well. -This location is very clean and seems to be new. Older locations aren't so... sparkly. Taco Casa doesn't concern itself with being at all fancy. There is no ambiance, not even by fast food standards, and they will probably never remodel. This is all to the good, as the price of remodels and updated signage (etc) will never be rolled into the price of the food. -What little advertising they do is cheap and rare. More overhead costs they don't have to charge you for. They do have a website, albeit an extremely basic one, where you can see pictures of their menu items and buy fantastically corny "fan gear." I want to explain the 5-star review. Obviously, Taco Casa's food is not better than, say for instance, what's served at a high-end steakhouse, or the Holy Grail of Texas barbecue. Likewise, it's not getting any points for being organic or spectacularly healthy. But in my opinion, Taco Casa is the absolute best at what they do, which is very Americanized "Mexican" fast food featuring menu items that are simple and satisfying and made out of real ingredients. If that sounds appealing, or if you liked Taco Bell or other fast food "Mexican" as a kid but find it disappointing now, give Taco Casa a shot. I can't tell you it's healthy, because it's not, but it is at least real food that tastes really good. read more

This is a Mexican fast food establishment, so five stars for what it is. Some of you remember back in the 70s and 80s when you would go to the very famous fast food taco place and it was actually GOOD. Well that's what this is...like those places were back in the old days. These guys even have the taco meat hamburger and the enchirito, taco light, etc. The beans actually taste good. There is no chicken on the menu, just taco meat and I'm fine with that. They do one thing and they do it well. I will never eat at one of the major corporate taco places if there's a Taco Casa around. It's also as cheap as any other fast food place and they have a drive through. The food is good and the tacos have LOTS of cheese on them. Very tasty. My only complaint is that the meat is VERY greasy. They do not adequately drain the grease out of the meat. By the time you get home the taco wrapping and the sack are saturated in grease. I spoke to the manager about this but it never improved. I have to say that I don't quite understand what sort of niche this restaurant is exactly trying to fill. For me, there are three types of taco places out there. 1) Traditional places that sell street tacos for under two bucks 2) Fast food joints like Taco Bell and 3) Hipster or New American joints that put a complete different spin on taco ingredients like Velvet Taco. This place falls squarely into the second category and doesn't distinguish itself from its competition. Tacos, nachos, and burritos are pretty much the entire menu and I would say that you could make every single item there with the following ingredients: taco shells, mild hot sauce, ground taco meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream. Very generic food that goes for a fast food price. The only distinguishing thing I noticed was that they were very generous with the shredded cheese. The facility itself was nice. Not a fan of the colors, but it was very, very spacious for a fast food joint and it seemed to contain a fair number of families when I was there. The staff was courteous and kept the facility clean. I wish I could give it more than 2 stars but "Meh" pretty much describes my experience. If I had to write a one sentence description, it would be "Taco Bell with a more limited menu". read more

There are better Taco Casas out there in terms of service but as often as come here, I don't think I'd be honest by only giving it 3 stars, because for me, even the worst Taco Casa is far better than the best Taco Bell or Bueno. The food takes me back to my youth, before PepsiCo owned Taco Bell, when my mom would take me there to treat me to a taco and pintos with cheese. Fortunately, Taco Casa still has that tasty flavor from back in the day and I regularly crave a Super Taco and side of Frijoles! Typically they are incredibly generous with the cheese at Taco Casas and that definitely earns bonus points with me. The menu is simple with key ingredients being beef, beans or a combo of the two. Oh- and did I mention lots of cheese? This location doesn't earn the 5th star I give the other locations I frequent though due to a few factors, most of which appear to stem from the fact that they are poorly staffed, either in numbers, quality of workers, or simply have bad management. The service tends to be very slow during peak times (I've waited 20 minutes in the drive-through at 3 in the afternoon on a weekday) and the food is frequently thrown together haphazardly and a little chintzy on the fillings and toppings (this isn't Taco Bell, guys!!). Unfortunately, it may be a product of its location, because I find those problems with several other chains in our area. This is so unfortunate, because I really want to be able to support local businesses, but I refuse to if they refuse to compete. Speaking of location, that's another downside for me. If I want to go on my way to work (in Dallas) I have to make sure I have enough time to go to MacArthur to U-turn onto the frontage and then go all the way to Story to U-turn to get back on the eastbound side of the freeway (why, Texas, just why??). Finally, the hours. They say they are open until 10:30pm every day, but I've been by more than once when the lights were mostly out, the drive-through closed and folks were cleaning up in the kitchen at 9:55 or 10:05. Again, management and staff issue? The Euless location has never had any of these problems when I've gone (and I go a LOT), and they're open until 11pm every night, so if I'm starting from home or if I'm westbound and it's after 9pm when I get a craving, I just keep driving to Euless. If I'm heading eastbound and am on a schedule, I just wait until I get to Dallas and skip Taco Casa altogether... it's a shame, really... read more
