2/21/19 Ordered the 8 PC. Mixed without sides to go. When I returned home we noticed we were missing a leg. Don't take your family here. I used to bring my family all the time but on Monday we went to get my daughter and husband some dinner and we order her the Mac and cheese as we usually do. This time after almost 10 minutes of eating she vomited all of the Mac and cheese that she had eaten. She later had a fever of 104 and couldn't keep anything down. I called the location and they offered to make us fresh Mac and cheese it didn't want to give us a refund. My daughter has been sick and having a Fever for a whole week now. My husband had to take off work for the week and we've taken her to the emergency room twice. Please don't go to this location. They served us old Mac and cheese and it has left my 2 year old sick. I love El Pollo Loco. But, recently there has been multiple times I go at 9-10 pm (they close at 11 pm) and they tell me they have no chicken or it's going to take over an hour to make. The first time I heard this I wasn't upset cause I genuinely believed they just didn't have chicken. However, this third time I looked through the drive thru window and saw they were cleaning grills as if they were preparing to close and It was only 9! I know that if i was the store owner at this establishment I'd want to know if my employees were closing early and potentially losing customers for the night. We decided to try the new El Pollo Loco in Menifee. Sorry we did. The chicken was so tuff you could click your fingers on the skin. I wish we had eaten there as opposed to going through the drive thru, we could have taken it right back to the counter. We had decided to try the $20.00 family meal. The beans and rice were ok, the salsa was fine. Tortillas were ok. The salad was wilted and the avocado has spots on it. Argh! The worst thing was the French fry in the salad. Came to buy a chicken tostada at this location and it's the worst service location( on Haun rd/ Menifee) I've ever been to.. the way they gave me the food looked it was leftovers for the pigs, the tostada was all broken and piled up and wasn't even the whole tostada. I have enjoyed eating at this location since they opened , but today I stopped by for a late lunch and experienced a long wait in line because the cashier was busy sitting in the restaurant talking to a friend and no one behind the counter seemed interested in helping to take orders . When I finally did get my order in , I had to walk up to see why I hadn't gotten my order only to find out it was finished but no one had bothered to set it out for me to pick up . Two stars for the friendly cashier... other than that... the worst pollo loco ever! I went in on Sunday Jan 29, 2016 ... I ordered a 12 piece family meal... again cashier inside was friendly... I waited a few minutes... and then received my food from a lady that was rude... when I got my food I told her the house salsa needed to be refilled... she said HUH... then I told her in Spanish... and I think she got offended because she said "I'll get to it" and walked away! The cashier stood at her register helping all the customers coming in... after about 10 minutes cashier runs to the back ... fills up the salsa and apologizes to me... the rude lady (I think she was the manager) never refilled the salsa like she said she would... I was in shock! I drive all the way home... open the box of chicken to feed my 4 very hungry kids and husband... and the freaken chicken (I really would rather call it bones because there was no meat) was burnt!! Did an app order online waited in the parking lot for over 15 minutes without nobody telling me that they are closed! They need to update their hours on the app and communicate that to customers! How are we going to know that you close at 7pm! Employees were coming out walking to their car leaving as all the other cars were sitting at curbside pick up waiting looking confused and not one employee told us that they were closed! They were quick to take my money and said that we would get automatically refunded but never saw the refund. Call corporate office three times to try to get my refund all they would say is "it takes a few business days for it to go through or go deal with it thur your bank" It's been a month now and having to deal with corporate has been a very horrible experience!! They have the worst customer service ever and that explains why they have one star! Representative was very unprofessional and kept speaking over my voice and would not let me get a word in so disrespectful (Nora) I requested several time to speak with a supervisor and manager and nobody was willing to take my call! Representative Nora kept saying there was no manager or supervisor available when clearly she said she was chatting with them in regards to my case but all of a sudden there's nobody available ! I absolutely love this place! I have a family of four including myself and there prices were great! The chicken was excellent. The rice and beans were more Americanized but its ok because the green sauce made up for it. To top it all off the flour tortillas were the next best thing to a home cooked tortilla. I was at my sisters for the weekend and Friday night went through the drive-thru around 7ish. They were VERY busy, which seemed good! Got a family meal with sides and double chicken avocado salad. Well when we got back to my sisters. The whole order was wrong! First of all no chicken on my other sisters double chicken avocado salad and then no tortillas and we asked for all legs instead of wings. The sides were half full. Everything tasted awful and it looked thrown together! The girl in the drive-thru kept talking over my sister while she was ordering as well. Which they always do! I used to be a huge fan of EPL but now i am just over it and doubt I will ever go back. My sister called to let the manager know and he basically didn't care! OVER ONE HOUR wait for NOTHING! We waited 40 minutes in the drive through to get to the order speaker. They then told us we would have to wait 25 to 35 minutes to get a mixed order of chicken. We already had 40 minutes invested, I told them ok, WE WILL WAIT. As it turned out, it took another 25 minutes to get to the pick up window. I told them it should be no more than 10 more minutes to get mixed chicken. When they said otherwise, I asked to see the manager. The very polite incompetent manager said it would take 45 minutes MORE to get mixed chicken. It was VERY clear no matter how much chicken I ordered or how long I waited I was never going to get what I wanted. My wife and I have high cholesterol. We must eat white meat. The sad part is they just don't care. They could easily post a sign that there isn't any white meat so you don't waste your time. But that is all their game - you have invested time and your family is hungry at home. You will take whatever they give you. We gave up and went over to Habit and got 2 chicken breast sandwiches in less than 10 minutes. BTW, for those who care, The Habit personnel were all wearing masks. I was excited that they were opening an El pollo loco in Menifee, unfortunately it seems like this location is still working out the kinks. There is not consistency in the food quality what so ever as you could normally expect at other locations. I was happy that they have tortilla soup on the menu now that it's erring cold but each time it's prepared differently. Tonight I got home and all the toppings that normally come on the deluxe tortilla soup were already in the bowl so it was soggy by the time I got to eat it, but they forgot to include the tortilla strips. First time i ordered here, they forgot to charge one of our burritos​, so one person in my party had no dinner. Second time, all the lids on the tortilla soups were cracked, and our bags were saturated with broth. Figured we'd give them one last try to get it right today. Two shrimp tacos, the shrimp bowl, and a burrito. Both tacos and the burrito are barely wrapped, hanging out and the ingredients scattered in the bag since they're not properly done, and the bowl was put inside ways. Disgusting presentation and now we have to reassemble the tacos to even eat them. I'd leave no stars if that was possible.
