So, I went to this El pollo loco on haun in Menifee Thursday night about 8:30. I order a 2 piece, breast & a wing dinner take a look at this wing, its BIGGER than the breast unbelievable... I'm giving 3 stars because the manager decided to add more chicken after I told him; ("this is the same as stealing") $5 worth of food for $9 & change..that is just not right. (No two ways about it) just not right.. It was like pulling teeth trying to get him to give me my moneys worth..(Terrible just terrible) it was $9 in change this is what I got. Horrible, If they had a display with chicken in it of that size I guarantee and they would be out of business within a month or two. I'm actually shocked how small this breast was take a look... the wing is actually bigger than the breast unbelievable... not good for business that's for sure... I'm not very happy with this El Pollo Loco if I was this was my place I would be very disappointed with my employees...the thing is- Is people love to eat out and when you fill their stomachs all they do is talk about great and full they got at that particular place which in turn is the best advertisement you can get. They alway walk away without acknowledging you're even there. The chicken is often burnt in the outside and undercooked in the inside. My son had never actually ordered food from here so we thought we would grab some lunch after a shopping spree! Went through the drive-thru to take food home and we we sat down to eat we were shocked at the extremely small portions! We ordered the same thing! Our order came with one small breast and one tiny chicken wing, mashed potatoes, salad and corn tortillas. My son loves chicken wings and when we opened our food the wing was torn apart with NO meat on the wing and very small! This adult lunch meal would not fill a two year old!!!! Very sad looking lunch! Been here several times in the last two months and doubt if i will return. Each time waited in drive thru from 30 to 40 minutes. Adding insult 2 injury, waited in line 50, yes 50 minutes in drive thru tonight and they informed me there was an 1 hour wait for chicken!!! Why didn't they tell me that when I ordered. Insane!!! They appeared to be very understaffed too. Suggest they do what chic fil a and in and out establishments do. Take orders outside in the drive thru line to hopefully speed up the process. Meh... I feel bad for writing this but I've been here a couple times now and I feel like the employees are either really overwhelmed, incompetently trained, or both. Normally this a reflection of poor management. Expect to wait anywhere between 20-35 minutes in the drive through. I understand it's drive through only, but I've been to other El Pollo Loco locations with longer lines and was out in about 10 minutes. We have eaten at El Pollo Loco many times. I always get a Pollo Bowl because I always know what I'm getting...until today. Ordered a Pollo Bowl Combo. When I got home to eat it the chicken was not chopped up, just a small piece of chicken placed on top and it was chicken thigh. It was not chicken breast as it has been every time I have ordered it. More of a hot sauce inside then what I was expecting of a chipotle sauce and the cabbage makes it nasty. Cokes had no flavor, just carbonation. No go for us here. read more

Ordered a double chicken avo bowl & 3 tacos Al carbon along with 2 churros at around 9:30am today upon opening... and it was not even edible!! The chicken was drier than the Sahara desert and not even chewable. The chips in my taco meal were STALE and chewy, and the churros had NO SUGAR OR CINNAMON. I truly believe that they just warmed up whatever they had laying around from last night because there was no way that was cooked in the last 8 hours.. beyond disappointed and spent over $20 to still be hungry. Sadly, I didn't notice any of this until I was home and it was too late. I really hope the management makes this right and compensates me for this horrific experience, although I don't know how much faith I have In that. This place is a hot mess. They have online ordering but this store had ran out of chicken breast. They don't tell you that when you order online. Then the employee just says "we are out of mix". I'm like what heck does that mean. Then she explains they are out of a lot of stuff. It's Sunday evening mind you. How can a nationally recognized chain be out of food. Come to find out. There is a list in the door of about 19 items they are out of. THEN when they just give me legs and thighs, it's over cooked and dry. To top it off there is a girl working the grill. She is tossing chicken from one side of the grill to the other (not like we can see). Up until now this location was great, food was always hot, fresh, and tasty. Lately, though, I've been having some issues. It's probably COVID-related with supply-chain and/or labor problems. We visited three times in the last few weeks. First time, ordered online and went to pick up but the lobby was closed. Was forced to wait about 45 minutes in drive-thru just to pick up cold food. Second time, same thing, only this time drive-thru was closed too. Their app took my order and my money and I left without any food. Still waiting for money back on that one. Third time was tonight, both dining room and drive-thru were closed, but no indication on the app and I feel like it would have let me order if I tried. All three times I tried calling the store and it either goes to wrong number message or rings endlessly. Call me insane for trying over and over, but I wanted to give them a chance. If you're closed, disable your app and don't let it take orders and our money! read more

They ALWAYS forget something in my order. When I call about it, their answer is that I should drive back to pick up what they forgot to put in my order. Ridiculous. I should waste gas to go back and pick up what i already paid for and waited in line for. Then when i ask to speak to a manager, they hang up on me and won't answer the phone. Also, if you order breasts, they charge you extra and cut the breasts smaller than they should, so you get 3/4 of a breast. I rarely leave any reviews, but I'm honestly so disappointed in this place. I went through the drive thru and ordered 2 chicken guacamole burrito lunch boxes, 1 cheesy chicken quesadilla lunch box, and 1 chipotle chicken burrito. The first thing they did was forget the chipotle chicken burrito, which I had already paid for and got my sides wrong. it was a good thing I double checked my order before driving off. I went inside and it took them a few minutes before correcting my order. I spoke to three people before they finally decided to make the burrito that was missing. Once we started eating the burritos, there was barely any chicken in two of our burritos! BUT there was a bunch of chicken in the other burrito. AND in the chipotle avocado burrito, there was probably two little slices of avocado in the burrito and it was put towards one side of the burrito. We called them and they said it's how they portion their meals, which doesn't make sense because one chicken guacamole burrito had so much more chicken then the other chicken guacamole burrito. It's disappointing because we ordered two of the same burritos, but one burrito had a lot of beans with little lettuce/chicken and the other had less beans with a lot of lettuce/chicken. What the heck. Its takes me 45 minutes to barbecue a chicken and it should only take 5 minutes to grill those little hummingbirds they serve besides theres is all ready. So my mom is berry I'll with cancer and lives in an area that doesn't have El Pollo Loco in AZ, I told her I was coming out to see her last minute and she asked If I could bring some El Pollo Loco because nothing else taste good right now for two her. I placed my order paid $35 for a 14 Piece family meal. And $57 total. Put the food in An ice chest and drove 4.5 hours to get the food to her still warm and they only gave me 7 out of the 14 pieces of chicken I mine on the way up there and so did the rest of my family. She wanted extra for left overs. I call and the managers always on break or can't come to the phone I've called corporate they have not got back to me. This is such bs. We've had them cater at our work one time and it was great coming from a non-chicken eater their salad and sides are quite amazing they newly introduced Baja shrimp which I tried the shrimp tacos I would definitely recommend them but also definitely recommend not to get the sauce that comes on them maybe ask for on the side it is sweet and doesn't make sense with the taco other than that I deafly will be re-ordering them again with no sauce! The facility is new and still clean I really enjoyed the spicy avocado sauce Yum Yum! The line was already moving SLOW. Finally at least six cars got wind of the drama and started backing out of the line. As I passed several cars the drivers were complaining that it happens all the time. What a shame such a big franchise, I think it should be sold back to cooperate and resold to some one who can mange it much better. I couldn't back out of drive thru so was stuck to endure the wait. Ordered and got home to find the salsa I requested was not included though she repeated my request back at microphone and at window. Hi there Jessica, I was really looking forward to a meal from this location. Google maps, Yelp, elpolloloco.com all say hours of operation on a Friday night are until 10:30pm. I arrived to find the drive thru blocked off by a pedestrian cone and the lobby doors locked... at 9:35pm, almost an hour before closing time. Inside the lobby, the counters were clear and an employee was mopping the floors. I am not sure why it is advertised everywhere of your closing hours when the actual closing time was and hour sooner than stated. read more
