The menu is vast. I was surprised I have never been to a Miguel Jr's. I love Mexican food and the seem to have it all. It would take weeks or even longer to try everything, and everything sounds so good. We grabbed some nachos piled high and hot top to bottom, extra crispy taquitos smothered in cheese, and a chicken enchilada with a thin yet cravable sauce. everything was fresh and tasty I'm sure just as the home office would like, but truth be told other then the really good branding and marketing you might never know it was a chain. NOW SERVING FRIES! Yes, Miguel's Jr is now adding delicious, crispy French fries as a side option. Don't worry, they still have chips and guacamole, however I wouldn't sleep on the fries, they're YUMMY! I ordered a wet burrito box with carne asada and topped it off with some fries, it was a great meal. The burrito box meal also comes with a drink with refills. I always enjoy Miguel's as it's a top-tier Mexican chain with consistency in their flavors. The restaurant is near the main Menifee hub of shopping destinations so it's easy to find. You'll have a good time, try it. I like visiting with my parents as it's mellow and clean. Keep an eye out for tamales during the winter, they're good! read more

I personally am really glad they're starting to expand their chain. I'm a huge green chile fan & will order anything and everything with it! $9 El Potato burrito: my go to! Green chile marinated potatoes, cheddar cheese, and addition chile verde pork. A thousand times yes. Pro tip to hold it tight as all the sauce ends up at the bottom and you don't want to lose any of it! During the Holidays there was a green chile & cheese tamale which was spectacular but a little pricey at $6(?) Pricier than typical fast food but better quality than other fast food Mexican. Its Christmas time. The stores are nuts. Driving is painstaking at best. And my better half, has been making cookies all day. So yes, Take-Out was an easy choice, since I'm the Chef's Chief Dish & Bottle Washer. LOL. We have tried Miguel's a few times since my review four years ago. We have even visited their sit-down Cochina up in El Cerrito off Temescal Canyon Rd. The food is very good. The service is super fast and it's definitely a set up over the fast food guys. I really wanted to like this place, especially since it's so close to my house and one of the few Mexican spots nearby. I've visited twice now trying to give it a fair shot, but unfortunately, it's been a letdown both times. To be honest, the food is very basic--it tastes more like something you'd get from Del Taco than authentic Mexican food. The quality reminds me of quick, microwaved meals. For the price you pay, the portion sizes are also surprisingly small. Don't expect to walk away full after eating a burrito here. I tried both the Garbage Burrito and the California Burrito, and neither lived up to the hype. Unless they decide to change up the menu or improve the portions, I probably won't be back. read more

We normally really like this location. Not sure what was going on, but only 3 cars in front of us, yet it took 40 min to get to the window. No one in front of us had a large order. We ordered nachos and a burrito. That nachos were mushy, not 1 crispy chip! Normally the guacamole sauce is on the side, but this time it was slathered on top. For almost $10, and it was inedible! The only fast food we eat is Miguel's Jr & In-N-Out. Tonight's bill was $22. We'll think twice about coming back! It's no wonder In-N-Out is always packed! This is is WORST Miguel's I've ever been to. Whoever the cook is at 11:30am on Mondays does not know how to make burritos. Ordered the garbage burrito for the second time in the last week or so, both times half of the burrito had NO MEAT in it. First half of the burrito was all sour cream, lettuce, and rice, the bottom half of the burrito was ONLY meat and beans. Zero balance or equal layers. Now that all the rest of the ingredients are gone it's just straight meat at the end of the burrito. I don't know who is training these cooks but they don't know what they're doing at all. Beware! I've been going to this locations for years stopped by yesterday to treat a long time friend who had never been. Food was horrible asada was cold , chewy and had 0 flavor. Our traditional tortillas were cold , the rice was cold and the beans were okay. This place used to be so good it was my one stop place how ever on a Tuesday at 5:30pm all the food was cold. I wish I would have went to del taco , in my honest opinion they are not doing enough audits on food quality and the staff is mediocre no one wants to be there. Beware! read more

This is a small regional chain. The layout is exactly as the others, and is incredibly clean. The counter service was quick and prompt. We ordered extra taco sauce, and we readily got what we asked for. We had a chicken taco and a beef taco. Both tasted fresh. They sear their tortillas for their soft shell tacos, see my pic. This does add flavor. The proteins were tender and plentiful. The lettuce was crisp and the American cheese was creamy. The taco sauce is very mild, but still added a nice touch of mild heat and flavor. This was a great place to break up a road trip. read more

We love their food, and the burritos and especially the breakfast burritos are so fresh. Miquel's is our go to place many days! My only gripe is the breakfast burrito juices that alway leak out everywhere, sadly. It's like a cup of juice I have to drain off of my burrito. We try are hardest to eat them in our car, but it ends up being a complete mess and ends up being disappointing trying to eat them. We'd be here daily, he he, if it wasn't for the major excess juices that leak out everywhere. Please, oh please ..... drain those juices out, so we can eat the amazingly good burritos without having to squeeze all that juice out. Other than that, Miquel's food is very delicious and affordable and it won't deter us from coming here, it's just a tweek that would help many eat the good burritos. My Brother in law loves this place and had to bring me here to try the Beef & Potato burrito. It's a small fast food where you order at the counter and they call your number. It's clean and the staff is friendly. I love the Hispanic music that plays overhead. So yes I really liked the shredded Beef and Potato burrito. It definitely has beef and potatoes in it, they don't skimp on the fixings. I bought a Bean & Cheese burrito for later. It was delicious the next day ! Plenty of beans and cheese. Miguel's Jr. has been my favorite fast fresh Mexican restaurant since growing up in southern California in the 1980s. They will make your burritos however you want. I love two bean and cheese burritos with tomatoes, sour cream, and cilantro with their hot sauce. Yum, yum! The service is friendly and fast. Mismanaged. The food is good. No complaints about their food. We're regulars. This is about the abysmal management and customer service. 6:30 on a Saturday night and the Mexican restaurant is out of rice....ok. As if that's not bad enough, the drive thru is a 30 minute wait and they make you wait til you have sat in your car for 20 minutes and get up to the guy taking your order to tell you. Then you're stuck in the car for 20 more minutes til you can get out and go somewhere that is well managed to order your dinner elsewhere. I don't know what management is doing besides not ordering enough rice for a Mexican restaurant. But it's obvious the customer experience is not top of mind. A thoughtful manager would have the decency and common courtesy to alert the cars BEFORE they're stuck in their line that there is NO RICE. A cardboard sign would even do the trick. But they don't respect their customers or their time. I run a business with a 5 star Yelp rating. You don't. We may or may not be back. But someone else gets our business tonight. read more
