Inconsistent. I've been here several times in the recent months, simply because it's a family favorite. Great meal when it's prepared well. Over the weekend, the GM was working the window and we had the best meal. We returned today (I wasn't lying, we love EPL) and it was the worst it's ever been. The chicken was cold and had a rubbery feel to it. The skin was flabby- not crispy. The pinto beans were thick and had absolutely no taste. The beans had to be old. I drive all the way over to Murrieta Hot Springs Rd, Murrieta to avoid the Menifee location. This location is run horribly! They run out of chicken all the time, their lines are horrible, the management is unable to hire or train properly, they can't count money, they don't even have change so they've told me I must use a debit card, orders are incorrect, close when they feel like it. She was very attentive to all of us with a nice attitude and smile you need more people like her I thought she new almost all the customers the way she was having conversations with them even with me. I ordered the chicken avocado chipotle burrito as I love spicy food. However I don't like food so spicy that your lips turn numb and your insides get hot like mines just did. I checked the menu to see if they had an inferno sign or extra hot and couldn't find anything. Called the manager and she didn't have a clue of the level of spicy. She said it was a pre made sauce. Picked up Dinner today. Family meal with coleslaw and beans. The beans were really the only good item. We found a bag in the coleslaw. It looked like one of those plastic gloves that employees use. It was mixed in with the coleslaw. Yuck! We threw the coleslaw out. The chicken was hard. It seemed like it was yesterday's chicken, or it had been sitting out for a while. I'm not sure if we were just starving or if it was really good, but either way, we were happy with our experience here a few weeks ago. We got the family chicken meal, it came with rice, and we chose sides of mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. They offered flour tortillas for us but we ended up not using it. The chicken was perfectly roasted and it was rather healthy, nothing too insane. However, much better and crispier than the rotisserie chicken you get from Target or Stater Bros. A lady handed us free churros right from the front counter because her meal came with it and she said she didn't need to be eating it, so we got it for free. The churros were pretty good and a great way to end our meal. We went around 7:30 pm and it wasn't too packed, our food came out rather quickly and it was nice to be able to see the chicken being roasted right behind the front counter. I come by this location 2-3 times a month to pick up food for my family of 5. I always place my order on the app for my convenience. I've never had an issue with my orders. When I walk in, they know who I am, and I'm always greeted with a smile. My food is always ready and waiting when I arrive. All salsa, utensils, etc. are in the bag, and there is no need to ask for anything. The restaurant and bathrooms are always clean, the music isn't too loud, and it's never really crowded. After a long few stressful weeks, and a day at the hospital with my mom who is facing a lot of scary procedures, I decided to do our to go meal as I just don't have it in me to cook tonight. Emotionally drained physically drained and mentally spent, I pulled up to the drive-through, I was blessed to have Richard take my order.
