Had not been here in a few years. Decided to give them another chance. We were very disappointed! We used a coupon for 2 legs, 2 thighs, salads, churros, tortillas, 2 sides. Our order was incorrect. We received only 3 pieces, 1 wing and 1 1/2 thighs. The chicken was overcooked and so dry it was almost inedible. There was no possible way to eat any of the skin as it was like shoe leather. We did not get the churros at all. The salads were not at all good either. The chips on top were stale, there was no cheese on the salads and no dressing. Needless to say we were very disappointed. A meal for 2? Seriously? I don't think we'll be going back again, even with a coupon. read more

It has been a few months since my last visit to this El Pollo Loco. I had almost forgotten how good the chicken street tacos taste. The quality of the citrus lime marinated chicken is about as good as it can get. I enjoyed the combination plate today of three street tacos with fresh chips along with a large drink. Almost too much food and a bargain of a price. Excellent service as always from the very pleasant employees. The dining room was spotlessly clean as was the cooking and prep area behind the counter. I used the mobile app. to place the order as I arrived in the parking area. My meal was ready in less than five minutes and was piping hot with fresh ingredients. Pico de Gallo sauce that went with the tacos was perfect and obviously very fresh. Another tasty meal at El Pollo Loco. I have enjoyed El Pollo's food for almost 40 years and I've never been disappointed. A large menu with so many choices with chicken plates, tacos, burritos, and salads available. I'm giving three stars because the food is always great and the customer service was pleasant as well. However, the management or whoever told the employees to do this, should get zero stars. If you ever want to add chopped chicken breast to your bowl or salad etc. don't do it unless you do it online because online they charge you $.99 but because they don't have a button for that in store, they charge over $4 for it. They also didn't tell me this, they tried charging me the more expensive option and then I checked online. I use to really like this place and then they started messing up my orders. The last 4 times they "forgot" to put salsa in with my order. I Order the tostada and tell them that I want the green salsa in place of the dressing and all 4 times I got nothing! The last time asked again at the window -- There is green salsa in there, right? I'm down here in Sac for the day, and I happen to run into a friend of mine that told me about how this Birria (stewed Mexican Beef) has really taken off in popularity. So, much so that even fast food chains are offering it and getting on the bandwagon! He showed me a coupon he had that offered basically a 2 for one deal on the birria meals at El Pollo Loco. So what the heck why not, I haven't been to Pollo Loco in years. We find out, whoa, these birria meals aren't cheap at all, , like $10.99 for a stuffed quesadilla, burrito, or a 2 taco meal. You get a dipping juice sauce, but no drink included. OK, for 2 for 1 I'm game. The coupon was no prob, we got $10.99 off the order of the stuffed quesadilla and the birria burrito. When they came out, wow, those are DINKY! I mean compared to a burrito from a real Mexican joint. Flavor wise? Pretty bland, not Mexican tasting at all. Maybe cause it's made for a non-Mexican customer base? I dunno. The burrito was better than the quesadilla, but still pretty small. Size wise, I could take that whole burrito straight into my mouth. this Pollo Loco has been in the radar of my taste buds for years now. it has not failed me thus far. despite prices obviously increasing over the years, the quality has not wavered and i appreciate them. my regular order is a Grande Avocado Chicken Bowl and it does not disappoint every time. love me some avocado. although it's not locations, Pollo Loco is hit or miss with some prices. $10 for two quesabirrias the size of my wallet? (it is a very thin wallet) $12 for a supposedly "overstuffed quesadilla" but yet it's no bigger than the size of my hand? golly, avocado really does raise the price of everything. ask Chipotle. speaking of which, this place absolutely annihilates Chipotle. want a trusty bowl where they don't skimp on your protein? Pollo Loco is where it's at. it's (slightly) cheaper too! you want something with value. you want something chock-full of what you came for. you want a bowl. it has everything you want and more. an absolute bang for your buck. all in all, this location recently had a remodel and it looks like a modernized Fuego. the staff is kind and have been knowing my familiar face for a while and this feels almost like a second home. i also receive my food faster than the chickens scurrying, preventing to become my meal. this crazy chicken gets a five out of five. read more

Good bowls of food! Ordered the classic and double chicken bowls. They were fresh, satisfying and we were in and out of the drive thru in no time. Excellent customer service from the young lady taking the order and cashiering. My first time trying the bowl. They separate the fresh tomato salsa, cilantro sauce and another white sauce so by the time you get home your taco bowl doesn't get soggy. The fried taco shell was crispy and not oily. Chicken was aplenty even on the classic bowl. The double chicken bowl comes with avocado, think it's a dollar more or so. Worth it! I couldn't finish my regular/classic chicken bowl. I always try to give pollo loco the benefit of the doubt and it's always a disappointment. I asked for rice and beans for sides. I got rice and corn. I asked for pico de gallo and salsa. The worker even corrected me when I said tomato salsa and yet it was still missing. This is an every time I visit occurrence that they get the order wrong or it's missing items. 3.5 stars. I've never been to an El Pollo Loco, but my coworkers are constantly picking up lunch from here and I decided to give them a try. They're super busy during the lunch hour, but the line goes by quick enough. The lady at the window was very friendly. I ordered their chicken nachos combo for $5. I love a good deal, but I felt like this fell short for me. First off, I was handed an ice tea instead of Dr. Pepper so that's a bummer already. The nachos were okay. I liked the amount of guac they put on it, but there was only like half a spoonful of chicken. The cheese & beans were also sparse. I wasn't a fan of the cilantro salsa they put in my bag either. If you like spicy salsas, my coworker says to ask for the salsa roja. Don't ask for the red one cause they'll give you a different one. You specifically have to say salsa Roja. I was excited to have a new lunch spot for a great deal, but Taco Bell has their own $5 nacho box + a drink and theirs is practically double the size of El Pollo Loco's. Realizing that, I felt like this $5 lunch combo wasn't worth it. All in all, it wasn't a raving experience and I probably won't be back. read more

We were playing cards when I am my friend stopped and got some chicken from this L Pollo Loco and brought it to the game... I was looking forward to it since it's been a while... But it was all dried out the legs look like they were off the baby chicken and Part that was supposed to be the thighs I think was really the butt crack... I cook chicken thighs in my crockpot, all the time and make chicken tacos and I know what the bone structure is. These were definitely butts... Hopefully will never have to go to one of these again or get Served This at a party. So sad that you guys didn't go out of business instead of Rubios which could do no wrong. read more

What happened to the Horchata at all the El Pollo Locos?!?!?! I used to order Horchata ALL the time in the bay area but lately I've noticed they stopped selling it. I like this location better than the one on Greenback. This one seems cleaner, and the salsa station is more well-kept (no traces of spilllage) and brighter. The other one I've been to seemed darker and less inviting. I'm giving them 3 because their servings seemed a little small. Came in today fed52022at 1:54 with family. Seen this employee with long nails no gloves nails had Diamonds look like that's not safe she packing the food having hard time and drops bean cup. She pickup the cup adding her 2 fingers with nails in it packed it and act like nothing ! Of course I threw that away and called a manager but he didn't offer to replace it or nothing he said. Worst customer service ever. First the young girl addresses me by say "what do you want" . She acted like she couldn't hear me and was annoyed to take my order . I told her 3 times I wanted a taco .
