$29 for 8pc family meal with 2 sides - price went up at least $5 bucks
Angela D.

Didn't feel like dining out or cooking so we opted for the 8pc family meal with two siides, rice & beans. This location is the best because they have so many people coming through that the chicken is juicy and hot. Other locations like the one off Kanan consistency gives us burnt or dry pieces so we only like to come to this location. The drive thru was packed but they got us through this evening and the girls inside gave us a lot of sauces without asking for it. The prices have gone up at least $5 but I'm glad they still offer this combination when we're in a pinch.

Don't even know where to begin with this Review! So much went wrong. One of my Pet-Peeves is when Restaurant Run out of Product, especially when this company have so many locations though out So Cal. Managers do a walk though and check your product and all your paper goods and so on. No reason to run out. You need to have enough inventory to cover your sales, plus a little bit extra in case of an emergency. This usually means about 5-7 days worth if Inventory. To Management, Set your employees up for Success and not Failure. Utilize your resources to be able to get and receive Product from other locations. Also the Beans were also missing. Now to my Order!!!!!!! As I entered was not greeted or even Acknowledged as I stood there in line, the Cashier walked away to help the drive-though, He could have said, I'll right with you, Cashier's name Everardo#46. Basic Standards, just recognize and Acknowledge your customers, very simple. A simple Hello and in Closing a Simple Thank you, how hard is that. Train your employees the basic's principles. The order,OMG. 2PC chicken combo and a 3 chicken Taco combo and a side of pinto beans, along with 2 different types of Salsa's. I also stated to the Cashier the order was togo, Drive-thu line was to long. As I got to my car, I said to myself I better check the order. No Salsa's and No spoon for the pinto beans, So I went back in. Asked the same Cashier could I have a spoon for the beans and he stated, Where out of them, however he did give me the Salsa's. This a Franchise location.

Worst pollo location I've been to. Cashier guy at drive thru was rude. No utensils or not one napkin for salad and a meal, asked him for extra sauce because he only gave me one. Insisted he gave me 3, when there was only one in the bag. Showed a $10 meal coupon from the app, he scanned yet he charged the same amount he had said at the speaker so obviously no coupon went thru. So annoyed with this location

What does a customer say to the employees the moment the customer becomes witness to an employee standing with his shoes ONTOP of the grill next to the chicken they are about to serve? plus they are rinsing the dirty grills with water and spraying the chicken right next to it. I have NO words!! Is this common practice at all El Pollo Loco restaurants?

Classic Chicken Tostada Salad

Hardly any chicken in the chicken tostada salad. Very dry and hard, just shavings. It's not even a full ounce of chicken. Looks like left overs from the afternoon? Also a burnt shell.

There's an app for that!

Why did the Rooster break up with his girlfriend? Because that Chick was CRAZY!! How crazy was she you ask?? So. CRAZY. GOOD!! If you have ever been to any EPL and have had their famous marinated chicken, you know exactly what I'm talkin' about. Their marinade recipe has my head spinning and is making me Loco for more. For years I have been going to El Pollo Loco's throughout Southern California and they have all continued to maintain their high standards of flavor, freshness and that fire-grilled chicken that we have all grown to love. I think what I enjoy most about eating here is the familiarity of their original menu, but the fact that they continue to try new things and keep up with the current food trends. Their newest venture (2020) is their take on street tacos Including the Worlds 1st Keto Taco, their 'chickenless' chicken taco which is plant based and their Baja shrimp taco. So the next time you find yourself clucking to yourself when nobody is around, come self admit yourself to your closest El Pollo Loco restaurant for some self needed help.

Enchiladas suisa on the mild side. You can request heat level!!

I placed an online order around 10:27 AM. The app still allowed me to place the order for pickup,…read moreso I assumed everything was fine. I arrived at exactly 10:40 and marked in the app that I had arrived. When I spoke to the gentleman in the drive-through wearing aviator sunglasses, he wasn't outright rude, but his attitude was very dismissive. What bothered me the most was that when I tried to explain the situation and asked if he could check with someone inside, he simply said he couldn't help me anymore and walked away. It very much felt like, "this is your problem, not mine." Apparently, if you place a pickup order and do not press "I'm here" while you're on the way, there's a chance you won't receive your order even if the app allows you to place it. This was never made clear in the ordering process. I was told I should have selected curbside instead of drive-through, but by the time I arrived it was already too late. For context, I had been up all night at home with two sick kids. I was exhausted, and breakfast was something small we were all looking forward to after a long night. As a mom, sometimes those little things can really make or break your day when you're running on no sleep. What disappointed me most wasn't the policy it was the lack of empathy. I asked to speak to a manager and pulled forward. The girls working the window were not rude, but the overall situation still left me feeling unheard. I was so exhausted trying to explain everything that I actually burst into tears. I do want to be clear that this review is specifically about my drive-through experience. I have gone inside many times and the staff inside has always been wonderful. There is a woman who has worked there for many years who is truly exceptional and always so kind and welcoming. Unfortunately I don't remember her name, but she is amazing and has always provided great service. I come to this location almost every day and have supported this restaurant as part of our community. I'm not someone who asks for exceptions, but sometimes customer service means recognizing when a situation calls for a little understanding and kindness. Because of how this situation was handled, I will not be returning to this location or any Chick-fil-A. I will also be submitting this experience through the "We Care About You" customer feedback option so they are aware of how this was handled.

I always get the mild because I'm a whimp but even that has a kick to it and make my nose drip a little. With the #1 you get 2 decent size sandwiches and a side of fries and you can add a drink for two dollars I think. We also get the Hangry fix bowl which always hits the spot but I think it's big enough for two people to share as well. Their meals are very filling. The younger crew has really stepped up their customer service. They are very friendly and the acknowledge you from the moment come in the door to the moment you leave. The restaurant itself is very clean as well as the restroom. And there is plenty of space for large parties inside. And there is also a nice patio sitting outside.

I ended up with a burning mouth, and a runny nose from the level of spice. It even came down to scraping off the skin and spices to try to manage enjoying the center part of the chicken piece. Dear Hubby and I shared the #3 plate, which was one sandwich and one open-faced piece of chicken on a piece of Texas-style toast with a few pickle slices. It also came with a side of fries. We also added a side of rice (mistake - it was extremely bland and tasteless). Cole slaw might have been a better choice, and would have balanced the heat of the chicken. There were zero fountain beverages that I could enjoy. I don't drink caffeinated drinks, and I try to avoid copious amounts of sugar. I had water, and Dear Hubby got some root beer. The fries were quite delicious, and the amount provided was generous. That was a highlight of the meal, plus the dipping sauce for the chicken. The cashier was very friendly, so that was a plus and a good first impression. The interior restaurant space is really odd. They've laid it out so that two-tops are shoved up against one wall, and four-tops are shoved against the opposite wall, with an excessively large open space in the middle of the room. Seems like wasted space to me, and not visually interesting or welcoming. Farther across the room, away from the ordering stand and the kitchen, are several raised counters with barstools. DH and I ended up sitting at the end of one of those counter spots. We noted that there are other chicken spots very close by - Chick Fil-A, Zankou Chicken, Wing Stop, El Pollo Loco, this Angry Chickz place, and a Raising Cane's is going in to the spot previously occupied by Amy's. It's going to be chicken wars on two blocks of Moorpark Road!

Walking up feels like stepping into a 90s time capsule in the best way possible. Classic diner vibes, no frills, just hot dogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches and sides. The owners are incredibly kind and efficient, as everything is cooked fresh to order. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating so I grabbed a table outside to soak up that sunshine. Here's what I ordered: Chili Cheese Dog: (upgraded to the Hebrew National) 10/10. Having tried both of their hotdogs, definitely get the Hebrew National over the regular one. It's bigger and more flavorful in my opinion. This thing was loaded. Flavorful chili, melty cheese, and fresh diced onions, all tucked into a perfectly grilled hot dog roll. This is definitely the dog to get if you're torn between all of the options. Street Dog: A bacon wrapped dog with ketchup, mayo and mustard and veggies (I customized mine a bit so opted out of the onion and jalapeño). If you're a fan of bacon wrapped hot dogs, this is always a solid choice too. Pro tip: These hot dogs are HUGE. I was not prepared. One would've easily done the job so next time I'm just grabbing one and adding a side of onion rings because they looked incredible. Overall a very satisfying lunch for under $20 for two dogs and a soda. Great to have a long standing hotdog restaurant in the 805.

They also handled a to-go order for my dad seamlessly while we were eating. It was neatly packed and ready to go without any delay. I've also ordered from Lucky Dog through DoorDash in the past, and that experience was great as well (photo from this). Overall, Lucky Dog is a reliable and enjoyable spot for a classic hot dog meal.

SO SAD - Dog Haus decided to change their menu as a whole company nationwide and I don't know if it…read morereally satisfies us the way it used to. Dog Haus is known as an American craft-casual restaurant that's famous for their gourmet hot dogs and sausages all served on Hawaiian bread rolls. However, the new menu eliminated a good amount of their reputation! They sell smash burgers and grilled chicken, but it's called Dog Haus. The menu no longer has items like the spicy Italian, smoked apple sooo veggie sausage, chicken-mozzarella, and curried Thai Fighter wurst. Now, they highlight their normal hot dog and pork sausage - that's it. They used to sell their gourmet and different flavor combination sausages and bratwurst, but now they don't. It's turned into a restaurant like Sonic (but without the fun desserts and drinks) and Shake Shack (but at least Shake Shack has shakes.) They lost their uniqueness. Other than the company decision, which was probably the wurst business move, they also did not communicate clear enough to their employees because everyone at this location seemed to be over it. The guy at the cash register was incredibly annoyed that we didn't automatically understand that onion rings obviously aren't on the menu like before and onion strings are the new thing and what the differences are. We're sad because we really liked this restaurant and location, but it's not worth the food that's now pretty basic at most other American restaurants. Having smash burgers as a hot-dog place vs. selling hit smash burgers at somewhere like Fat Sal's where they're known for that is a bit different. Additionally, the customer service was NOT it. I asked for a water cup and was very disappointed to see that even after running the water for a few seconds, the water was still pink and not clear. When we got our food, our onion rings now onion strings were one of the saddest "shareables" side on their menu. They were limp, oily, hard to eat, and definitely not the move. We ordered entrees and weren't too impressed now that the dogs were normal, as well. Ambiance wise - they have seating inside, some seating outside, and inside have a tv where things like the FIFA World Cup play on a big screen.
