Fish taco plate to with chips
Todd M.

Fantastic fish tacos. I was in a rush today and decided to order a grilled fish taco to go. The fish taco is/was really yummy. The salsa bar is outstanding and offers pretty much every flavor. The menu offers a wide variety of options. The place is clean and feels like a small taco shack. Highly recommended

Ordered a shrimp burrito via DoorDash and there was some sort of wire in the middle of the burrito. Will not be buying from Snapper Jacks again.

What a wonderful restaurant! Stopped in for lunch with a couple friends this afternoon. Restaurant was clean, tables ready for customers and the folks behind the counter were friendly and helpful. I ordered the taco plate which was absolutely delicious. Order at the counter, can eat inside or outside. Ample free parking. Will return!

Taco salad with grilled fish No shack sauce no cheese

The salon I work for door dashes from here a lot. I've found my favs from this restaurant through trial & error. This past week I tried the salad with grilled fish. This is my new fav. I love the salsa's here. My favs are the quemada and the habanero salsas.

Crispy taco with battered fish and cabbage
Liya K.

Great food & service. I got two battered fish tacos, crispy, with cabbage. It was so good & filling!! I was craving rice & beans so I got the combo. Their salsa bar is pretty good and I definitely recommend their special crema! Each order also comes with thin, crispy chips. There are seating indoors and outdoors & it's a nice, relaxing environment.

Cancun burrito

Ordered to go and food was ready before I even got there in 10 minutes! Staff was unbelievably friendly and it looked like people were enjoying themselves on the patio. While the food was really fresh, I didn't enjoy the Cancun burrito too much. Personally it felt too mushy so the texture was off putting, but it was undeniably fresh! Just not my thing. But it was huge too! Shared it among 3 people and we still had some saved some for later. The tacos were delicious though, even though the name says crunchy they weren't crunchy but it's probably because I got delivery and the heat softened them in the foil. Not too sure if I'll come back regularly since it seems like something I can easily make at home but really glad I stopped by.

My favorite is always their Cancun Burrito (shrimp, crabs, avocado, rice, sour cream and salsa). I placed the door dash order for this item way too many times for lunch at work. It always came fresh and so delicious! Next time, I may try to dine in the restaurant.

I've been coming to this place since I was little and it never disappoints. I order the vegetarian burrito the traditional way and the employees never fail to make it with ease. The cashier, Bryant, was so friendly. My food was out in less than five minutes. I've had a lot of burritos in my day but I have to say, this one takes the cake. If you're ever in Thousand Oaks you HAVE to stop by and give it a try.

Shrimp Mini Combo
Mia K.

Great service, nice employees and food that I enjoyed. Fair prices Wasn't very hungry so got a Mini Combo (one taco, soft or hard shell) with black or refried beans and rice. Shrimp is $1 extra, well seasoned, and many pieces! Their chips are warm and really light. The salsa bar is clean. Try the avocado and "brown sauce"! Lol My friend's rice, veggies and avocado entree was very salty (I agree) and had an unexpected curry taste. She mentioned this and they gave her a container of rice. They offer healthier options like a bowl or salad and burrito specials. Cool interior with beachy vibes. Two tv screens show a game and the other surfers and shots of the beautiful Golden State! Nice large outdoor eating area. I would return the next time I visit.

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

Selvin's is serving up the epitome of "girl dinner" so the bestie and I had to make a trip to check…read moreit out for ourselves. What is girl dinner you may ask? It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.

My son was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease, and eating out at restaurants has been a challenge. We went to Fusion Grill today, the first time since his diagnosis, and the owner explained that she could make almost anything on the menu gluten-free. They have gluten-free pastas, breads, buns.... They even have a separate fryer, so we don't have to worry about cross-contamination. Most importantly, the owner really understands that even a tiny bit of gluten is still gluten, and for someone with Celiac, they can get very sick. The fries are addictive, crispy and perfectly seasoned, their "house" sauce - a sweet and savory aioli is crack. This fusion salad is perfection, every thing is perfectly seasoned, insanely fresh, but what gets me is how clean the flavors are, every ingredient comes through clearly and then complements so well. Service is warm, genuine and owner driven. Space is bright and tasteful but nothing overly fancy. Prices are a little over average, but quality really makes you not blink an eye over it.

I think this place may be my new favorite restaurant…read more My friend and I walked in on a Friday night at 6:30 PM, with no reservations. The place was packed, but I have to assume we got really lucky because we got seated right away at an open table near the front. Our server greeted us immediately and brought us waters for the table. We were overwhelmed initially by the menu options because everything sounded incredible. We asked our waitress what she recommended, and she said literally everything on the menu is amazing - nothing is bad and every dish is popular. So I was quite impressed to hear that. My friend and I decided to get the steak tartare, woodfire grilled octopus, fried gnocchi, and chicken liver pate. Every single dish was actually incredible. The chicken liver pate came with four slices of toast, some pickled vegetables and ground mustard. The pate was creamy, rich, slightly on the sweeter side, so it paired perfectly with the tang from the ground mustard & pickled vegetables. The woodfire grilled octopus was cooked perfectly. Seriously the best, freshest octopus I've ever had! It wasn't chewy or fishy at all. The texture was absolutely perfect. It was very easy to cut into and juicy. It was paired perfectly with the aïoli as well. The steak tartare was extremely fresh. One of the things that I hate about steak tartare at restaurants sometimes is it will start to look brown from the meat oxidizing so it doesn't always look as appetizing, but this tartare was still had that vibrant red color as if they had just cut the meat. Lastly, the fried gnocchi was amazing. It's the first time I've ever had a dish with fried gnocchi. They paired it with a cream sauce that was absolutely delicious. I wish I remembered what was in it, but it was so good. I wanted to drink that sauce lol. Love how the gnocchi was also perfectly seared, had no lumps, and basically melts in your mouth. Overall, loved the ambience of this place as well. It's very hip. trendy. Definitely a louder environment but perfect for a weekend night out to enjoy great food. I would recommend making reservations. I think my friend and I probably just got lucky because we went a little bit earlier on a Friday night. Also wanna mention all of the wait staff was amazing. Food was served very quickly and we had no issues with any of our orders. I seriously cannot wait to come back here and try every single thing on the menu!

We had a dinner reservation last Saturday which we showed up a little early to have a cocktail before hand. It's located inside of a strip mall with loads of parking. A decent size patio seating. When you walk in, you're greeted with the hostess who were amazing. Right infront of you is the bar area. That itself isn't big at all. There's a few seat along the bar area and that's about it. Also inside dining isn't big as well. Restaurants wasn't massive but nice and quaint and very busy. We were told that if we wanted to grab a drink and take it outside to a spot while we wait for our table it would be fine. They would come get us once it's ready. Cocktails and wine menu was quite nice. They do allow you to bring up to two bottles for a corkage fee. Which we did take advantage of. But beforehand, started off with their smoke and sour cocktails. Mezcal, lime, hibiscus juice, farm egg whites and cherry bitters. It was quite delicious and that smoked mezcal, wow. If you like mezcal, it's worth trying. Bar area isn't big so we had to stand there and wait for our drink. Maybe a 10 to 15 minutes later, we were informed our table was ready. We were seated right behind the bar area for a table for four. I believe Jonathan was our waiter. Very sweet and friendly. Also, it did seemed like a lot of regulars. All the staff members seem to know everyone that was dining. Menu is limited but quite impressive. We started off with a few shared plates before the entrees. -Ember roasted red beets with preserved lemon crèma, spiced pumpkin seeds, pickled Fresno chilis and mint. Wow, it was delicious. The flavors with the beets, kiss kiss. -Smoke trout toast- blisters cherry tomatoes, candy beets, wild arugula, crème fraiche and lemon. This was top dish for starters from all of us. The flavor of the trout was the star of the dish. Highly recommend. -Mushrooms flatbread- shiitake, buna shimeji and oyster mushrooms, tarragon, fiore di Latte mozzarella and crème fraiche. Mushrooms lovers with amazing variety all combined together for a delicious bite. -Spicy scampi flatbread- rock shrimp, parsley, garlic, Calabrian chilis and parmigiano reggiano. It's literally having a seafood scampi but on a flatbread. Wow wow, favorite out of the two flatbread. Definitely recommend. Entrees, Manila clams and salt spring mussels tossed in spaghetti with Calabrian chilis and parsley. The flavors were excellent. Simple but very tasty. -Crispy gnocchi with cherry tomatoes, basil in a Parmesan fondue. It's alway a hit or miss for me but this was a hit. And the elk which was maybe a special. Not quite sure the whole description but it was very tasty. Plus it was very tender and cooked perfectly and mixed with a sauce and topped with crispy onions. Another hit. Lastly we actually had room left for dessert which was the bread pudding. Hot with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Perfect way to end an amazing meal. The service was great. Food was excellent and highly recommended. Each dish had its unique taste that was delicious. Everything ordered was outstanding and no crumbs were left. We would definitely be back.

As pescatarians, we found the menu somewhat limited. While the food was competently prepared and attractively presented, it did not justify the final bill of $213.77. The meal began with a complimentary amuse-bouche of burrata cream on watermelon tasting which was elegant and flavorful, but small. For starters, we ordered the Hamachi, Salmon Tartare Tacos, and Smoked Trout Toast. Each dish had an interesting concept, but none stood out. The salmon and tartare were ground so finely that they lacked the texture and freshness we expected. For our entrées, we had the Tomato & Burrata and the Sea Bream. The sauce accompanying the burrata was excellent and was the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the sea bream itself was slightly overcooked. We also tried two non-alcoholic drinks: a hibiscus mocktail and a lychee lemonade. Both were pleasant but unremarkable. For dessert, we ordered the peach galette and the chocolate dessert. They were nicely presented but tasted average. The chocolatine contained croissant bits. Given the restaurant's prices, we expected desserts to be better curated and with memorable flavors. Instead, they reminded us of supermarket-quality desserts. Overall, this is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service, but the food did not live up to either the presentation or the price. We'd consider returning for the atmosphere, but not for the value.

One thing I really appreciated was how welcoming the experience was from the moment we walked in. They have menus available near the entrance, and the host asked if it was our first time or if we had visited before. I thought that was a great touch because it helps first-time guests feel more comfortable. After that, you order at a kiosk, which I actually enjoyed. It gives you time to look through the menu and decide without feeling rushed while someone is waiting to take your order. The seating options are great. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor patio is especially beautiful with lots of greenery, making it a relaxing place to enjoy your meal. The indoor dining area can get a little loud, but that's to be expected in a busy restaurant. During our visit, Mo was checking on guests, and he was incredibly kind. Even though you don't have one dedicated server, he stopped by to clear our plates and asked how everything was. I had decided to try something new, and while it just wasn't my personal preference, I really appreciated that he took the time to check in. As a thoughtful gesture, they even gave me a voucher to use on my next visit. I really appreciated Mo's attentiveness and outstanding customer service. That level of hospitality definitely makes me want to come back. One thing to keep in mind is that parking can be a little limited during peak hours since the lot is shared with other businesses. That said, the parking lot is large enough that, with a little patience, you can usually find a spot.

I am not writing this as a dig, we love Neighborly, I just more so wanted the incident to be known…read morebecause I believe it exceeded past normal cross contamination that's usually expected in restaurants and hope it won't happen again. My partner and I have been on a Neighborly kick lately and it's been so good consistently. However, today at lunch was the dreaded nightmare for vegetarians and vegans (I have been a vegetarian for over 20 years). We ordered just the regular green beans (in which the ingredients are literally only ginger and garlic oil, NO MEAT in sight) from the Social Monk and as we kept eating all these brown pieces started coming up. I thought maybe some mushrooms or something? But there was enough of it emerging to ask about it and It turned out there were chunks and pieces of beef all throughout the green beans under the top layer (where none was visible) that I had just completely consumed. I REALLY hope I didn't consume any, but I was eating multiple green beans at a time with a fork and I hope my fork didn't pick any of it up. I should have taken a picture because it wasn't just like one little piece, there was a lot of pieces of meat hidden in this pure vegetable dish. Those who don't eat meat don't eat it for a number of reasons, varying from religious beliefs, diet, illness, ethics, and more, so it definitely wasn't a nice surprise they made a vegetarian dish with chunks and bits of beef in it. They offered to make us new green beans but we passed. I was super grossed out and we were finished eating at that point anyways. Accidents happen of course, but when it comes to food, this wasn't just a little cross contamination...it became a vegetarian diet violation in a dish you would never expect meat to be in. Sweet staff though! And usually good food! We will be returning. But I just wanted to voice this because it didn't feel resolved.
