today I walked up to this place with my friend because the lights were on and they were open because the frying pan was still on and the oil was sizzling and we kept waiting for an extended amount of time and nobody was there. Horrible service and very unsafe to leave a hot fryer on with nobody standing there. if you aren't going to come serve someone, and you are closed, don't forget to turn everything off so no one is standing there waiting to order. I wish I could've enjoyed a hot dog today but I did not because like I said, the lights and everything were on but nobody was there. Time to fire your staff for not doing their job. read more

Giving this hotdog on a stick a solid 3.5 which of course means I'll round up. Eating at hot dog on a stick is nostalgic for me and I found myself needing a refreshment to end my shopping experience. I hadn't been to this specific location in a long long time. I'm also trying to give them the benefit of the doubt as most times I've come here the service has been pretty friendly and good. However this last trip was reminiscent of what others wrote about less than friendly staff. There was a tattooed young adult gal working the stall and she never once acknowledged me at the register. I could see she was making battered dogs, so had no intention of rushing her, but in every experience when a worker is in the middle of something but sees a customer they give you a simple "I will be right with you" just as an acknowledgment that they see you. She didn't. She was in front of me prepping and looked in my direction while working but just wouldn't make eye contact, it ended up feeling super awkward to stand there without anything. I did debate on leaving after a bit but then a really lovely and bubbly manager came out who was training a new hire. She saw me standing and welcomed me, took my order and handed me my drink promptly. A totally nice and professional interaction. I debated what to rate this review but I decided I wanted to give this location 4 stars (really 3.5) as I have been here a few times and only this one time was the service rude and off (until the manager stepped in of course). Every other time I've had normal to good experiences so fair to leave them a more well rounded review. I just hope it brings attention to some of their younger workers on how to provide nice customer service in a way that makes a customer feel welcomed but understanding that sometimes the staff need a moment to finish their task. Back to a really positive reason of why I came here to leave this review LYCHEE LEMONADE!!! Omg it's amazing! It's a new limited time option but I am obsessed. I already have always loved their lemonade here and the lychee flavor is awesome. Definitely make sure you come try it because I'm a huge fan of lychee flavoring and mixed with their already tasty lemonade this was a 5/5. I really hope they'd consider keeping it apart of their long standing menu. We will see. read more

For the first time we received bad service, the employee just does not care. There was only one employee working. Her name was Jaylin. She took our order, we said we wanted it to go. We asked for two waters and she took forever to give us waters. My wife asked first then I did and she did not respond at all. The water was with no lids and the corn dogs were small and sad looking. The ketchup dispenser was out so we asked for ketchup. Jaylin said they were all out and non was in the back. After asking for her managers name she said she will check the back. She came back with packets of ketchup and tossed them on the counter. The corn dogs looked smaller than normal. This was ridiculous! Also, another review said it happened yesterday too in the middle of the day around 2pm!! For me, It was 6pm and there was a sign saying "Will be back. We are prepping." and there's 4 guys that look like they're in high school just standing around while 1 of them is opening bags of hot dogs and putting sticks in them... like wtf? You don't do that! You get the hot dog ready when someone orders one! Then an hour later, we saw lady ask them and then saw her walking away from them towards us. We asked if they were still closed and she said yeah, and my mom's like it's been over an hour! The lady was like, "are you freaking kidding me? wtf?" Also, the guys who told my mom, who asked how much longer it's gonna take, was extremely rude and had an attitude. I took photos of the sign a little later (like 20 mins later) before I left the mall and there was no one to be seen! It looked like they all left and I couldn't hear anyone in the back at all! The worst experience. I love hot dogs on a stick and is my go to for a quick pick me up when I come to the mall, but if you want more than a few corn dogs, stay away. I ordered a party pack that included 3 gallons of lemonade and 25 corn dogs, and they tried to send me away with 5 dogs and 1 gallon of lemonade. There was push back from the employee even after showing my receipt. Employee claimed each corn dog cost $15 EACH and that's why I only had 5 corn dogs. I read the description online to verify it was a total of 25 corn dogs. Customer service was poor, employee did not know or understand their menu or pricing and not helpful at all. Took over 45 minutes, almost an hour to get my entire order. By the time we were finally able to eat, everything was cold. Very disappointed. read more

What has happened to this wonderfully nostalgic food place? Growing up there used to be sweet cute young people smiling and working hard...today, just the opposite. With that said, my 24 year old daughter wanted a bit of her childhood and asked to purchase a hot dog on a stick. Oh my.....it's a good thing I didn't read the reviews before coming here! HA! I haven't had Hot Dog on a Stick in ages. I've always had such fond memories of visiting them as a kid, and I still think they have the best lemonade around. I randomly stopped into the Oaks Mall for a little snack, and the food tasted as good as I remember. I got the veggie corn dog (can't tell the difference between a regular one!), the funnel cake fries and a cherry lemonade. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The two young guys working the counter were nice and friendly enough. My order came out in about 5 minutes. Maybe I just caught them at a good time? I really have no complaints. Absolutely terrible! I went here last week and I couldn't believe my eyes. The bald headed manager was SMOKING his Vape in the back and even passed his vape to the KIDS working there. I ordered two beef corn dogs (originally 1, but went back for a 2nd, because my 2yr old begged... and scarfed it down ), a water bottle and a cup of fries. Super hot, straight from the fryers. Oh how I love and miss HDOAS. Every time I go back to Cali, I have to stop by HDOAS. Their fries is by far the best and my fav in the world. It's a great snack or meal, but definitely not something I would eat all that often, since it's not the healthiest =/ Last time we went, we ordered two hot dogs, an order of fries, lemonade, and funnel sticks. My hubs didn't really understand the big deal of this place, especially because we spent close to or over $20 on our meal. Ordered 4 beef on a stick and regular fries for my kids and I. I was the second in line and around 11:35am yesterday. Not rush hour yet. Two younger looking guys shuffled around for 35 minutes to complete my order. They said they were "mixing the batter" with not so much of an apology. The 5 to 6 people behind me got about the same treatment. I saw no napkins in the dispenser, ketchup cups or an acknowledgement that they'd get some when asked. I had to grab paper towels from the counter. My fries were very burned and cold. I then watched in horror as the worker dropped a dog on the counter and then still served it to the customer behind me. read more

THIS LOCATION NEEDS HELP!!!!!!!! We've come here for years. The prices have always seemed high for what you really get but the kids love the idea of it and they have vegan friendly hotdogs so we go. The service is usually spot on and prompt. (At least in a reasonable manner) Today was a disaster and it was pretty sad. I wanted to get back there and help everyone out. I will be contacting their corporate offices because we tried to get a refund and they were unable to at the time. We waited 42 minutes and still no food. My husband ordered from a different vendor and we got into line at the same time. He was served his food and finished eating and we had yet to be served. 15 minutes later go to seek a refund and waited in line for 10 more minutes. He was trying to refund the poor lady in front of me, she paid cash and had a receipt and he could not find her transaction in the computer. He shut the system down to reboot and nothing. He asked us all to come back in a few days to allow time for the dust to settle. I suggested they stop taking orders. He put a small sign up...they were in a true pickle. There was what seemed to be a new employee so when we were waiting so long to order we were trying to be patient and understanding. Everyone is new once, ya know! The guy taking the order was only doing that while the new guy was busting his butt running in circles to only be creating one disaster after another. Let's just say...a lot of food went into the trash while we were standing there and a lot of people seemed unhappy. I hope they all reach out to the head offices. Not one person was thanked for being patient, not one person was offered anything for their troubles...refunds were even impossible. I mean, come on. The should have just closed for the night.
