Guy's Crispy? Chicken Sandwich Look at the pickle
    Fred S.

I saw a commercial the other day with Guy talking about the Flavor Town Kitchen, looked good. So this past Saturday I ordered a couple of the chicken sandwiches and fries. They arrived on time, the packaging was great but the Chicken sandwich was really bad. The pickles, onion and tomato was sliced so thin you could see through them, 1 tomato slice and 5 pickle slices with 2 strings of an onion, really. Half the chicken was crisp, the bun soaked up a lot but It was cold and soggy from the sauce. I only ate 1/2 my trash ate the rest. The fries we're the only good part but at 5.00 per order for a small to medium size is just wrong. So, 40.00 for soggy sandwiches and fries this was a really bad experience.

I love Guy Fieri, and when my bf told me that we could get food from Flavortown Kitchen I went as soon as I could. I got the bourbon wings, fries, Cajun pasta, and whiskey chocolate cake. The wings and fries were my favorite foods. The ranch that it came with was also very creamy and had a great thick mouthfeel. The Cajun pasta was good, and very flavorful but it wasn't AMAZING. The chocolate cake was tasty, but I was a little disappointed with the presentation. It looked a lot bigger than it was in pictures on the website. Also mine came in a puddle of melted frosting and was leaning to the side. I also didn't understand why the slice was half the size of the container it came in, it really makes it seem like you're missing something. Would I come back? THREE items were tasty, TWO were memorable, and ONE was tasty but also sad looking. I will definitely still GO back.

    Boxes are cool

The food was an explosion of flavor. It was like a hot tub party of flavortown in my mouth and everyone was invited. The funkalicious mac n cheese burger was money. Everything was money. The juicy patty was smothered with greasy slices of real stars and strips American bacon. It had hints of cheddar that were so sharp it could cut glass. All in all, the burger was lights-out delicious. And the fries. Shut the front door. Fries were totally legit. Spices were off the hook. Overall that shit was bananas and puts the shama lama in ding dong. Guy Fieri's flavortown was righteous. Owner, if you reading this, I really want an empty box that the food is served in because its so cool looking but everytime i order the box gets too greasy to save.

Ordered once. It's clear this ghost kitchen makes nothing from scratch. Don't waste your money.

Not worth the hype. Fried pickles were too hard and missing the ranch :( The egg rolls we're too greasy. But wings were good.

There's a story, and a reasonably happy ending to all of this. I was able to figure this out because when our order got short by a significant amount of food, I went looking to see if I could get this resolved at the restaurant. meanwhile, DoorDash was failing significantly (doorDash resolution when called was to offer an "email within three hours".) The Wings Out address that is shown online doesn't actually exist as an independent address. Wings Out also does not post a phone number for the local store. I figured out the location and the tie into Dave & Buster's when I got back home after my first failed search. Looking carefully at the map of the local mall, and not finding any such a suite number, I guessed at the overlap. I called the Dave & Buster's in Thousand Oaks in the Janss Mall and their staff both confirmed Wings Out was inside the operation, and was smart enough to kick my call to the general manager. I'll give the front line Dave and Buster staff credit for problem-solving. Meanwhile, their general manager, Nick Wilson, deserves some real credit for solving the problem. He offered to have the missing part of the order remade on the spot, ready to go in 15 minutes. I walked in the front door as Nick was walking up the main aisle with the to-go order in his hand . He had doubled the missing Wings Out order at no charge. We had time for a little chat about how well his crew and Nick himself resolved the problem, and I thanked him for his effort. BTW, the wings are really good.

But it is REALLY loud. There were maybe 9 people in there and you had yell at the person next to you because it's all concrete and metal. Not sure who thought this would work but it definitely does not. Also doesn't look like anyone had a plan of what they wanted the space to be. Live music? DJ? The acoustics are going to be awful. It's a massive space with a bunch of tables and nothing else. It's quite simply just odd. As for the food, it's not good. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. Pretty bland and nothing is fresh. It's also outrageously overpriced. Chicken fajitas were meh and they were $27.00. We got shrimp and they were rubbery and came in a plastic bag, which was in a bucket. Weird. Also, no silverware. Only plastic. Just a headscratcher all around. The website says they have happy hour but they didn't have a separate menu. Just two dollars off drinks is what w were told. Probably why it was empty at 5:30. Also weird. They have this huge space and don't seem to have any idea what to do with it. Drinks were the same as the food. Wildly overpriced and the bartender didn't seem to know what they were doing. So, fitting for the overall concept. I was excited about the new bar because we have an office down the street but this looks like a hard pass for me. 5 stars is for the staff because they were great.

The mall this place is in is a dump. There is a Mexican restaurant next door. I mention this because there is the crab/seafood menu and then there is an extensive Mexican food menu as well. I wonder if they just get the Mexican food from the restaurant next door? I don't know, nothing wrong in that. The tables have a paper "tablecloth" on them with plastic utensils. The reason for this is they don't use plates. They just bring you your seasoned seafood in a double plastic bag, and it is dumped out onto the paper "tablecloth". I saw this happening at the only other occupied table and immediately lost my appetite. My wife, undeterred, ordered some mussels. Ordinarily, we'll also order vegetables with any meal, but the side servings of vegetables are priced like filet mignon. I asked if I ordered the chips & guacamole, did it come with a serving of salsa? Alas, our server said no. What does a tiny amount of salsa cost a restaurant? 50 cents? So, I stuck with a glass of water. I was done. I couldn't bring myself to eat here. My wife ate a few of the mussels, digging them out from the plastic bags with her plastic fork. She said they were "ok" but we paid and departed, after a very poor experience. No pictures because I wasn't in the mood.
