I'm honestly surprised at the low reviews because this is by far the best El Pollo loco location I've been to. I used to go here 1x a week for years but less now and it's always on point. The quality of a restaurant... Especially fast food... Can be judged in many ways. Yesterday, May 1 I placed an order for pick up. Drove to the location on Moorepark And received my order timely. Drove back home opened the bag and it was obvious we had received someone else's order. We had gas so we're not able to drive back and pick up another order. I contacted the manager at Pollo Loco (Sorry, don't remember his name). He was kind courteous and in less than 20 minutes we had our original order plus a few bonuses. I ordered a double chicken tostada 10.49 I got maybe one scoop of their driest chicken I could count the beans at the bottom of salad some rice and they charged for the salsas, that actually go on it. It hurts to leave a low review on El pollo loco because I always loved the food at this chain. However, at this SPECIFIC el pollo loco I have gone multiple times to give them the benefit of the doubt. Each time I go I am always greeted by the SAME RUDE WORKER. I know people have a bad day every once in a while. But every time I go it seems to be one of those days. One of those times she was working the drive through and I saw her getting into a heated argument with the car in front of me. She was yelling and leaning out of the drive thru window. She argued with me when I asked her if she could correct my order: they gave me some sort of chicken burrito but I asked for a Bean, Rice, Cheese burrito. She insisted that the order was right and that is what I asked for.......but I'm a vegetarian. Another time, the SAME employee, I noticed my order was missing an order of churros, salsa, and utensils (despite specifically requesting them) and I asked if I can have each of those. Before continuing that conversation with be started arguing with one of her employees for something unrelated. Then went back to me and argued how she didn't make any mistakes and "everything is in the bag." I don't know why management has allowed such a rude and disrespectful employee work there for this long. But I decided to avoid this el pollo loco at all cost. This el pollo loco will make you lose ur appetite before you even take a bite. Highly recommend going to either chic fil a, sharkys, five guys, cafe rio, or gabba greens. Probably one of the worst El Pollo loco's I've been to food quality was very poor. I ordered two double chicken tostadas had to order churros because had to reach the minimum for one free tostada coupon.. I asked for an extra salad dressing for the salad. They told me they have to charge for it. Okay that's a first, never at any of the the other El Pollo's have they ever charged me for an extra salad dressing maybe they were hating because I had a coupon but business is business. Hands over the order, get home the damn salad dressing is watered down like straight liquid, should have been creamy tastes like nothing seems like they poured water into the last of the bottle and poured it out. The tostada shell is cold and the chicken isn't even warm. Maybe I'm spoiled because the El Pollo by work is fire, always crowded and full of people. As for the two churros, the most leathery rubbery thing ever, should have saved them to patch any future holes in my tire or roof. Lol Hate to write these types of reviews as a business owner myself that has seen so total bs Yelp reviews but they need to do better. This is the closest EL Pollo to my house but I don't think I'm going to lower my standards in the future , going to make the trip and extra 1.5 miles to another Branch that has better service and quality of food. read more

The female taking orders at the drive thru was very rude, impatient, and sarcastic. Me and my family were quite surprised at this kind of experience considering we've been coming to this place for more than a decade. This negative experience happened tonight at around 8 pm. We just came from my sons basketball session and were looking forward to a pleasant family dinner. When I was finally at the window, the lady kept ignoring my request for additional salsa. This EPL has been good in the past but not this time. I ordered a chicken meal and specified "juicy chicken, not dry, please" in the special instructions, because I know some people want their chicken well done. Sigh. All three pieces of my chicken were bone dry, and cold as well. (It's a 7-minute drive home and it should've still been at least tepid.) So dry it was inedible. The mash and gravy was about KFC-quality so, for me, meh. My tortillas came in a waxy paper-type bag that had popped open, so a 3-inch "side" of the tortillas was dry and crispy. My salad was basic but good, and they gave me extra salad dressing as requested. I'll give them that. Husband's chicken bowl was tiny, more like something off the kids' menu. Maybe 5" in diameter and 2-3" high. He said it was good, but for $10 he should've been full. Sadly, I no longer can recommend. read more

I love El Pollo Loco's food but the location continuously has poor service. Every order we have placed here from online has been messed up (missing items, wrong items/ingredients, etc.). Since we always take the orders to-go it is even more frustrating. Knowing the mistakes, we try to check the orders every time but we come home to still find mistakes. Beyond the mistakes, some staff at this location are not very helpful. We are very polite and understanding when these thing occur but the staff doesn't show any interest in understanding the problem and helping. By far the worst el pollo loco I've ever been to. I was there 4 days ago and ordered shrimp tacos. I went to open and eat them and they were completely cold and the tortillas were wet. It made them almost impossible to eat and when I brought them back I was told they were supposed to be that way because cabbage is cold and they tried twice to get me to buy 2 more. Pretty much the only thing I like about El Pollo Loco is their chicken, but I mean the entire piece of chicken, not cut up. I'm not a fan of their side dishes. Yet, I wanted to be a little adventuresome, so instead of getting my traditional chicken pieces (usually 2 thighs), I tried one of their healthier menu items..... don't remember what it was called, but it was essentially a low-cal, low-fat version of their quesadilla. Well, let me tell you, it had no flavor...... which was not a coincidence when one is trying to cut down on the more caloric versions. However, what irked me even more than the lack of flavor was that there was like 3 little, and I mean tiny, pieces of chicken...........really? How can they do that? I always get these tacos everywhere I go and they always have at least double the amount of chicken they put in my "Grande chicken tacos". There's no chicken hiding in that picture I took . Every time we go here the customer service is horrible. Our receipt says the attendant was Marisela. I don't know if that's her name but it's always the same lady who is just super rude and doesn't listen to our order. She asks for us to repeat ourselves multiple times as if she's not even listening. We get charged differently every time and if you ask about it at the window she ignores you and just repeats the total over and over.
