I'm addicted to El Pollo Loco's tacos al carbon (grilled chicken/onions/cilantro), avocado salsa (if there's leftovers, I drink the stuff), tortilla chips, combined with a mango lime agua fresca (Minute Maid, not the stuff you get from a big jar). Any time I'm on the West side, I stop by this location, and order the same combo. I did, however, in a very unusual move, order the poblano chicken quesadilla combo the other day, and it was oh so tasty. But yeah, there's nothing like simplicity - grilled chicken, onions, cilantro and avocado salsa. Manager is über friendly, along with her crew; I've never had a bad experience here. read more

Super super nice, hard working staff. Decent food. Unfortunately they've gotten my order wrong or missed an item the last three visits (usually forget a drink or side item). This current visit, I ordered a shredded chicken quesadilla fire grilled combo. There must've been a miscommunication as our receipt showed chicken nachos + a combo. They corrected the food at the window but we were still charged $11.49 for nachos rather than $5.99 for the quesadilla and they didn't refund the difference. This $5 quesadilla is in no way worth $11.50. Again, super friendly staff. I can tell they care about their job. But maybe they just need to slow down as they've forgotten items 3/3 visits or overcharged. And we've only ever ordered food for two people so it's a bummer something is always missing. Honestly I'll still go back, hoping the fourth time is the charm for the perfect order because I like their shredded chicken and sauces, and the staff! I want to support them. I love going to this place when I'm craving chicken. El Pollo Loco is different from fast-food chains that offer fried chicken. I suggest getting the rice and corn as the sides. It was nicely decorated with holiday decorations. I went to order tamales with chicken but she misheard me. After I saw my receipt I told her that messed up my order. She quickly corrected my order. The chicken tamale was good. They give little chicken, I was expecting more chicken though. The other locations definitely gave a lot more. I would definitely go to a different location. Never really understood the hype about this place. The food is flavorless... the service is never great. Did not like it at all.

After a major disappointment from a different restaurant that I won't mention, we decided to give this place a chance! I do not regret that one bit! The drive through experience was so so. Not great, not bad. The menu is fairly simple, we decided to go for a family meal with legs and thighs with a side of Mac n cheese and rice, with flour tortillas. I feel like I didn't wait too long at all. The one woman employee we saw was nice. It was a Contactless interaction. The meal was very good. The chicken had so much flavor and was so juicy. It felt like plenty of food, which felt like a great value for the price. The rice was very good, the salsa they included was very very tasty. The flour tortillas are wrapped 2 per plastic covering, which made saving them for later easy. The Mac n cheese was delicious and exactly what I was craving at the time. Honestly this place will likely be one of our new go to places to eat and everyone should give it a try! read more

Just left EL Pollo Loco in Jordan Landing. The lettuce in my salad was completely wilted and after my husband finished his soda, the cup was full of ants! we called and they refunded our money, but I'm not even sure why they are serving food that looks like this. When we called they said the ants were in the syrup. So, if you went there today and got a coke, chances are u got ants with them!! read more

Who woulda' thought that Pico De Gallo went well with fire-Grilled chicken? I finally got around to El Pollo Loco, and when I finally made it, I had too many choices. I'll have to come back, which is no sacrifice. I got their three-piece breast and wing. Loved the crispy (but not greasy) taste. Of the two sides, the Mac and Cheese was tasty (but a bit runny) and the Cole Slaw was tasty (but a bit dry). I can't wait to try my their traditional Mexican dishes. El Pollo Loco is on my shortlist for out of the house dining, simply because they are reasonably priced and offer healthy options. It's hard to beat flamed grilled chicken and pinto beans, when you tend to lean towards a higher protein diet. On my most recent visit, we found the chicken to be a bit over-cooked, but it did not ruin the meal. Part of the adventure of life and eating out is the variable known as "being human"... and we all know, "To err is human." Otherwise, El Pollo Loco falls into the category of like an In-N-Out Burger, whose relatively simple menu and quality is successfully replicated across the country. Weird that other El Pollo locations in Salt Lake and Sandy are open. Wonder what they're doing that this location won't? I went through the drive-through yesterday and it was my first time trying out this spot. I ordered the bacon barbecue stuffed quesadilla. And got it in a combo. Because it was my first time I didn't know what came in the combo but thought it would be cool because the restaurant seemed cool. I thought the staff weren't very friendly... And seemed quite rushed. My combo came with my quesadilla and a small bag of tortilla chips... Why would they just give you a small bag of tortilla chips without any sauce or salsa or spread to dip your chips in. The combo also came with a drink but that was it. I spent nine dollars for a drink, quesadilla and a small bag of tortilla chips. I ordered online due to the COVID 19 new directives, and I sent my son to pick it up, while he was waiting to get the order, I'd call friendly to remind them to put plates on the order, the lady answering the phone was a Spanish speaker so I spoke to her in Spanish, when my son came back, guess what? No plates in the order ( I totally get that things can be forgotten, thats why I'd call) So I'd call again and told the what what happened, a worker speaking on behalf the manager told me that I can come back for, that's why I called before, and asked for plates, to avoid to many trips back! Wow. Talk about customer service... Pearl is a real gem! Very friendly, smiling, and made us feel special, .....so rare in this day and age! The corn street tostada is awesome, too.... healthy and delicious. My order always seems to have something incorrect at this location. They've changed their menu recently to no longer include the Fajita Quesadilla with peppers - they no longer carry ANYTHING with bell peppers? - which makes this an even more non-vegetarian friendly quick stop. The 3 rolled tacos come with hardly any guacamole - if it even comes with it, sometimes only comes with avocado slices?.. I lived in Southern California for many years and the El Pollo restaurants are very good. I was excited to see them come to Utah . But boy what a difference in quality! The chicken is over cooked and dry, the burritos are mostly beans and rice with dried out pieces of chicken. Very disappointed. The problem I have is when I got the food our drinks where not large but they put the drinks in to regular cups each without marking them. This was my first time trying this restaurant. I received coupons in the mail and the advertisements looked tasty. The cashier forgot to input my coupon I told them I had and told me to come visit again soon instead. When I got home my meal was completely wrong, no chicken included with it.
