Honestly, if you are in the area of plaza fiesta and Buford highway, there are a dozen carnicerias (meat shops) in the area. Luckily our family has been to a lot of them and this one by far is the best. If you are looking for fresh cuts of meat and meat products, look no further. Very fresh, very affordable. There is a whole section of produce and dry items too. The place is not much to look at but believe me, this can sometimes be the diamonds in the ruff. Particularly if you are into carne asada ( made from skirt steak) and freshly made chorizo you will not need to look elsewhere.

Torta (forgot which kind) $7.99

FOOD COURT REVIEW ONLY: I was underwhelmed by the food. I got some chicken plate ($8). It comes with beans, rice, and grilled onions. Everything was prepared hours ago so it wasn't fresh. The chicken was cold. The value is great but the taste isn't as great. This place is a small market with a small food court at the entrance along with some stores surrounding it. I remember a hair/nail salon, car audio store, and check cashing business, and fruit and ice cream store. They have an armed off duty cop working there. It's not my kind of food but it was an interesting experience.

I pre-ordered some diced sushi grade tuna to make homemade Ahi Poke! I was amazed at the quality: taste, color, texture, tenderness...it was the best Ahi Poke I have ever had! They not only have incredible fresh cuts of meats & fresh seafood but they have the best prepared meals. Chicken Parmesan is my favorite- so far. Lol. Everything is freshly made from scratch and packed up ready for your fridge or freezer. They have single portions & family size portions. Everything is excellent. They also have a vary nice wine selection, fresh seasonal veggies, & fresh breads. I tried the Mexican cornbread the other day and craved it ever since. Don't forget the Caesar salad/ dressing. So, if you love to eat great food and thinking about nice butcher cut, fresh seafood, or heating up the fruits of their labor- you can't go wrong. One other thing I noticed- groceries are really expensive and sometimes getting home to discover you only have ingredients makes it hard to budget. I found that these great meals helped me trim a dollars off stocking the fridge.

But lucky me, The Spotted Trotter was out at the Grant Park Farmers Market that I attended recently and I got to check them out irl and support. (I told the gentleman who was at the table why I hadn't been in yet and he did explain that there was an easier way to enter. Ooops.) He was also so patient with me and explained the offerings and how I could use them all. Their menu board was calling my name and although I didn't need to buy anything, we love supporting local, yes? Yes. They had so many delicious options. Sausages, cheeses, all kinds of cured meats - just a carnivore's dream. I can only imagine how amazing the in-store experience is! I had no clue what to grab but ended up going for some calabrian pancetta that is crazyyy delicious. I can't wait to visit the brick and mortar and check out the rest of their options.

The quality and juiciness of their dogs is unparalleled. If I were them I would have a little hot dog and brat stand from 4-7 PM called Moreland Traffic dogs.
