The food here was decent but when I tell you the service was terrible I've never went to a restaurant and have anyone be as rude to me as these people were my boyfriend and i ordered the same drink we both agreed that the drink was way to sweet i put water in mine to dilute it but he wanted a whole new drink we call the waiter and she immediately got a attitude saying that we couldn't change our drinks she even yelled at us saying it's not her fault .. then a man (who never said who he was) came out to us to ask what the problem was we told him and he replied "well you ordered it" i said I'm aware but it's to sweet. Better than I expected. Traditional Cuban cuisine. Restaurant was well decorated with Cuban memorabilia, art, photos and more. Classic Cuban music played. But this place is on 8th street, Little Havana, so what else would one expect? Freshest picadillo I've had. Moros had onion and basil for richer flavor. Piña colada was delicious and stronger than expected. Great service. Server was attentive, respectful, polite, prompt. It was a genuine pleasure to interact with him in Spanish. Just a block from the MDC Tower Theater Miami. Limited street and rear parking. For a tasty, filling and authentic experience, I recommend this place over La Caretta. Enjoy! read more

The two stars is not the food or drinks, but for our server, everything was good until he refused to give me a copy of the receipt, I asked for my receipt back when paying in cash, but he said he could not give me one until the owner comes back and the server said i would take a lot of time to get the receipt etc. I got pissed because that is unlawful and left me a bad taste oboist this place that i will never come back. he was the server working on the patio on December 23 around 6:30 pm. I still need my receipt and i will try to contact management tomorrow. I am in the business's and been for a long time, and I believe this would be a big red flag for the ownership to pay closer attention because looks like his stealing money from the restaurant... read more

Oh El Pub. You consistent light at the end of a tipsy tunnel. What more is there to say than media noches after a few rounds at Ball & Chain? I can't imagine a better place to find myself and my friends, laughing with the cook as he hand-makes and presses all 5 of our different 10pm meals. Most of the staff is Spanish-speaking, but food surpasses all languages. If you know what you eat, you can communicate. Thus, I ate well that night for under $8. The only thing I'll say is even in my state, all I could think about was how the counters were sticky and how small the water cups were. The cook was the only staff member behind the counter, where all 5 of us were, so while he was working, there wasn't anyone else I could ask for a water refill. read more

I have eaten in this restaurant many times over the years and have gradually seen a change as that part of Calle Ocho has evolved into a tourist Mecca. I was extremely disappointed in my most recent visit. The doors were kept open to the street and the restaurant was extremely warm and uncomfortable, especially during one of the warmest summers on record. We sat in a booth in the front of the restaurant which meant that our server was also handling the counter. As we waited for our food we were surprised that no bread was served like at all other Cuban restaurants, especially because one of the dishes we ordered was very saucy. when we asked for bread they looked at us like we were aliens. The response from the server was that so many people were leaving the bread over that they decided not to serve it anymore and only by request. The bread did finally arrive after we had finished a quarter of our meals. The prices have also gone up substantially at this restaurant. Most of the entrées on the menu were priced at $29, although there were a few that were less. Considering that this was standard Cuban fare that you could get everywhere in Miami and also considering that this is an extremely casual restaurant the prices seemed out of line. Moreover, and we were only a party of two people, they added on a tip which I thought was unnecessary, and I would have tipped more even though the service was the worst. Perhaps the staff in this restaurant takes a casual approach to good service knowing that the tip is added onto the check. Once our server took our order we never saw her again until it was time to bring the check. We had to flag down other servers to get some bread and a water refill. The food was good, but nothing special and you could get the same thing in a nicer atmosphere and with better service at hundreds of other restaurants in Miami. Accordingly, I would never go back as there are too many better choices close by without having to visit the touristy section of Little Havana. Not recommended. read more

This was my first time eating at the pub because my sister lives this spot and wanted to introduce me, I love Cuban food so I was really excited to eat here. I ordered a breaded chicken with rice and beans and stuffed my face for when I was done eating, I pulled a long white hair out of my food UNDER MY RICE AND BEANS...my hair is black. I informed the staff that that was not okay with me and they just laughed and said it was strange, because the kitchen staff is all men and they wear hair nets. We still payed for everything and tipped but they're service is horrible and I don't recommend at all, check your food before you eat here! Their roof had a leak as well. I think they need an inspection quick. I'm never going back. Especially because they didn't care to make it better. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, who knows how much hair I ate. read more

great food! Mojito rocks!!! we bought a $40 pitcher of the Mojito and I felt great!! The strip gets pretty busy so we walked, outdoor dining was nice. Music was great. Our waitress was nice as well! Only reason I gave 4 stars- we went during spring break so the strip got a bit crazy and loud! Also, we waited for a while for someone to even notice us to get us a outdoor dining table. Even though we went in and asked some guy and he didn't even respond to us he just pointed outside.. so we waited outside and when the waitress finally noticed us she wiped down the table but on the chairs were lots of napkins flying around and table was a bit dirty still. Decided to try the very casual hole in the wall while walking through Little Havana with out of town guests. Giving a 2 star because the Media Noche sandwich was dynamite! However the rest of the experience not so good. Server did not know who ordered what when food made its way to the table, server did not check in to ask if dishes were ok. Ordered Carne con Papa which only tasted like tomate paste (no seasoning) the white rice was only boiled, also, no seasoning. Skipped dessert OBVIOUSLY! And after a visit to the restroom I was much more than disgusted. Can't understand why an establishment serving food cannot take pride and just clean!!! read more

Empanada! Empanada! Reading Yelp reviews got me to get this and thank goodness. We got a Carne and a GUAVA jelly and Queso filled one. Both were perfectly cooked. Not too greasy and not too dry with tons of meat! If nothing else I can say, get the Empanadas. The meat one was delicious. Really flaky and tasty beef. But the other one was like a fantastic, not too sweet desert. I loved it and would go back for this and probably any of their other empanadas. We also had 4 Mojitos! They were pretty darn good. Mason jar full and plenty of lime and mint. The service here was pretty bad but the service we got was good when we got it. Just hard to get the attention of anyone so we did spend some time flagging people down and felt a little guilty because when they came they were pretty darn nice and service was fast after. I think the Old's Mojito's were better because of the extra prep time but these were no slouches for sure and would love to go here on Mojito Monday when they are only $5. Will be back for the Empanadas and likely to have another Mojito since I am there. read more

Their food is always fresh, they always agree to any modifications or adjustments, and they do it well. The coffee is perfect, as well as the milkshakes. My favorite is the Mamey. Delicious food! Incredibly nice waiter. I had salmon and black beans and both items were delicious! One waitress even brought a heavy chair outside for my grandma to sit on while we waited for my father to pull the car up closer to the sidewalk. One thing is the live music was a bit too loud for me and especially loud for my grandpa who has sensitive ears and hearing issues. I chose this restaurant for the history and to enjoy with my family, the Cuban food. Our host was amazing and kind, but my food was not what expected. the FRIST THING WAS THAT MY GLASS WAS DIRTY. I ordered Shrimp Cocktail it was small it only had five shrimp and the sauce was not for my liking and is not a dish that need be include because the chef do not put any creativity on this plate. One of the Hoster was disrespectful with my family since I the need used the bathroom and in a bad mood, she let us know that we cannot use even when the guy who take care of this situation let us know that was ready be used. We had the Cuban sandwich and in comparison to other sandwich in the area I would say this one is among the best. We had some time to kill before getting an Uber to the airport, so we walked around little Havana and found this Inviting place with decent service and awesome nachos, just don't get the empanadas (not good). It is good food simple but great taste. First time i ate Cuban food, roasted pork otherwise called Lechon, i luv it. Came with moro, rice and black beans mixed together plus plantain, fried bananas! A plus is it has its own parking which is a treat if driving along Little Havana. Cuban music in the background, it's nice especially when you're on vacation. There is a little bit of Cuban! We walked right in and after an awkward few minutes and no clear indication on whether we sit ourselves or we wait to be seated, I accosted a waitress who told us to sit. The wait staff was kind, but it took about 30 minutes for us to waive down our waitress for the check; 45 minutes to get a cup of coffee. A friend of mine recommended el Pub restaurant to enjoy some Cuban food on a trip to little Havana today. I asked him what I should order and he said order the grouper. We were greeted promptly and chose a booth seat. There was a small tour group there up front when we entered from the parking lot side in the rear. The server was quick setting us up with waters, menus, and placemats. We ordered a colada and bacalau fritters. I ordered grouper and my wife ordered churasco, a skirt steak. The meal comes with two sides of your choice. The food was good the portions were large and prices were fair, to cheap. The cleanliness was poor to average, but not scary. The decor was perfect, simple and rustic with a diner feel. It all worked for me the grouper was moist and perfectly cooked with onions on top. The server was motherly and I loved it.
