We went at night and they had live music going on outside that you can hear down the street. What a vibe! Tables inside and out. We sat outside, right next to the band, and although I can be very sensitive to loud noises, I wanted to listen! The food was fabulous. I've not had very many opportunities to have Cuban food, so take my taste opinion for what you will on this one. Me, the hubs and my adult kid shared so we were able to sample quite a few things each. Personally, there were things I did and did not like. My favorite, the plantains! Came to this place two days in a row -- that's how good it was! Started off with the ceviche, then the orange chicken, and wrapped it all up with tres leches and flan. Everything was a solid 10/10. We randomly ended up going to this place while visiting Miami for Art Basel. We sat out front. There was good music and they had some good selections on the menu. Our server was attentive, making sure we had what we needed. There was someone internal battle over the lighting. One staff member turned them down, another came right back and turned them up. Located in Little Havana right on the Main Street of the area, this is one of the most recommended spots to visit. It's a popular tourist spot and a stop for guided tours, so it definitely gets busy! The restaurant is cute inside. Very eclectic and bright. Not a ton of seating, but they have outdoor seating as well. It was a bit loud, but we were ok. We ordered pina colada, croquets & a Cuban sandwich! The pina colada had cinnamon, which my husband loved, but I didn't care for - the croquets, however, were delicious! We started with drinks because it was happy hour. I was not impressed by the drinks - I got the mojito and it didn't have much mint flavor. The food was delicious. I was hesitant to go to any restaurant in the LIttle Havana area because tourist type spots make me cringe. I was pleasantly surprised with higher end food choices here. So the restaurant is basically Cuban and Spanish food (mainly tapas) I loved what I ordered which was the gazpacho and the tortilla Espanola. My guests also liked what they had which where the huevos rotos and croquetas. The orange juice, and possibly other fruit juices were not a hit...those at the table that tasted it claimed it was bittersweet and had ice in it further diluting the fun. Service was spotty, with our sever not having a thorough knowledge of what the food ingredients were composed of but this is not a biggie because he did go back and ask the chef. The cigar shop next door was just as active as the restaurant, and you can order a cigar while you enjoy your dinner and cocktails. The restaurant itself was super small inside, so they had many tables outside for everyone. The Mexican in me was missing the spicy salsa or sauce to accompany the food. But it was good nonetheless. The people are all dressed to impress and living their best life. It was so fun to experience, and I enjoyed watching everyone dancing and having fun.
