I was excited to check it out since we don't have anything like it near us. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a sweet, inviting aroma. The place had a cozy vibe, with kids enjoying sweets on a nearby bench, adding to the lively atmosphere. My boyfriend ordered a pure apple juice that was fresh and delicious, while I went for the Lime Chamoyada special, which was the perfect balance of tangy and sweet with a spicy kick from the chamoy. We love supporting small businesses! This small corner store located in the Italian Market is a great place to stop by for dessert. There is also a dessert spot across the street. I'll need to do a comparison on which is better soon! I had to crop the picture so I had something to write a review about lol. We got Guava with cream ice cream and this was very light! Probably around $3 for a small. We also got Mango Loco ($8), which seems to be a popular dessert. I only recommend this if you like sour foods. This is my terrible way of describing it: The mango is cut up, but it seems to be a sour mango. There are pieces of candy peanut, and sour gummies(?)/candy in it. The thing sticking out is a straw covered with a sour candy. The entire thing is drenched in Chamoy, Tajin, and Valentina (i think). The store also sells fruit, strawberries and cream, fresh potato chips, fry-ums (?), pina colada, shortbet, smoothies, candy, and so much more! Great little Mexican Ice Cream spot with an online identity issue. On Google this business' full name is El Pueblo Refresqueria. However, there is no sign on the premises. There was another name onsite "Bambino" and this business has a Yelp page under that name! I think visitors are generally confused with names online and labeling on site. Upon arrival, you're greeted by a long line. I found the root cause to be inefficient process and order handling. While I was there, the entire store was waited on by mostly one girl, at times a second and third was there. They can have a lot of items pre-made or pre-started in the back (ex. Shaved ice in a cup) and have someone working the orders in the back while the ones in the front keep the line moving. That being said, I did enjoy the shaved ice with pineapple syrup and chunks. It was a perfect way to relieve the heat and brought me back to my childhood in Mexico. read more

I came here on a Saturday night, and there was a decent amount of people there despite the fact that it was a very cold and windy night. It's a small store, and it was very hard to find. I believe the name on the store front said "Bambino" instead of "El Pueblo;" hence why it was very hard to find. Parking is your typical city parking... we were able to find street parking a street over. There is only one sitting area that can sit about 10 people. No bathrooms, and the minimum for card was $10 I believe. I got an elote ($2.50) and chamoyada especial ($6). The chamoyada especial came with mango chunks and a tamarind straw. The elote was pretty flavorful and good! The chamoyada was good as well. My only complaint about it is that the straw with the tamarind was too small, so you can't get the mango chunks with it. They should use a bigger hole straw with the chamoyada especial. read more

The lady behind the counter was nice enough to allow us to sample a few flavors. The flavors themselves seem intriguing -- some that I noticed for next time are corn, rice pudding, and guava and cream. What I really liked about the ice cream was that it wasn't cloyingly sweet. The "cream" part of mangoes and cream was almost tangy, like there was goat's milk in it. The two small ice creams came out to $3.50 total, which I think is a steal considering the unique flavors. I came in here on a Saturday afternoon looking for some fresh fruit juice. There were about 4 people in front of me, and eventually 2 people came in after me. 20 minutes later, I'm the only person left in the store. Every one else got their order and left in a timely manner, but my order took forever. I ordered the Manzana (apple) off of the Jugos Naturales menu. We LOVE it here! This is our best friend on a hot day! And it's where I had my first chamoyada! Yum! Love the balanced combo of the sweet mango, the salty tamarind stick with the heat of the chili. So good! So, so good!! I don't have another one to compare it to, but I can't imagine it gets any better than this one! This small corner shop near the Italian Market which is now called Bambino offers hispanic snacks such as chips and tamales, fruit smoothies, as well as a variety of water-ice flavors, and a ton of unique ice cream flavors. On our last visit our party ordered rainbow and lime ice, strawberry cheesecake and pineapple cream ice cream and I asked the kind girl behind the counter to mix me up a sugar free smoothie (they add sugar to their fruit smoothies normally) of just blended pineapple, coconut and mango with ice. Totally hit the spot on a summer day! Prices are very reasonable and they do accept cards for anything over $10. It can get crammed inside and service can be a tad slow especially when they're mixing up smoothies. Stay patience and consider taking a seat on the bench outside if it gets too stuffy inside. I had high hopes and a huge craving for a Mangonada on a sunny, warm Saturday. Luckily I was around Italian Market and have been meaning to try this place! The place is right on 9th and had a pretty decent line that moved along. The space itself is huge and the line was due there being only 2 workers present. Not a big deal since I got to have time ogling and choosing what I wanted from the extensive menus plastered on the wall. I ordered a spicy elote and a special Chamonada and my items came quickly. The elote was delicious and I gobbled it quickly. Big fan. The chamonada was huge and packed with delicious chamoy and mango but the mango flavor was a bit week and the mango chunks were small. I can't expect too much since it isn't mango season yet but I barely finished half before it melted into a sticky puddle. I'm still a fan of this place and will gladly come back for elotes and other goodies. There are lots to get! Be warned there is a $10 minimum for credit so spend big or bring cash! read more

I found this hidden gem about a month ago . I drove by this place for years and never knew they made mangonada here . So one day I drove by again and I seen a picture they've posted outside their store on the wall . I immediately pulled over to stopped in . I'm so happy to find a place so close to home that makes it . The first time they've made it for me it was just mango slushy with chamoy and chili powder . Until I came back a second time and asked if they make it with mango and they said yes just a dollar more for mango . I didn't mind . The drink is so good . Very refreshing on a hot day but I don't mind what day I have it . If you ever had the Mexican mango lollipop it taste just like that except the fresher version . The ladies at the counter are really nice . They also have ice cream , and they also make other drinks as well . Let me tell you how hard it is to find a place that sells Mexican raspados in the Northeast. I was so happy to see a review for this place and even though we live in Jersey, we ventured out to find this joint because I have been craving these for so long. It's located in little Mexico where you can find all sorts of yummy places to eat and when you walk through the front door, it's like you've walked into a real heladería in Mexico. Nothing fancy by any means but serving all sort of yummy street food. Raspados, helado, dorilocos, frutas con chile, elotes...seriously one of the best Mexican places I've been to in years. I ordered the mango diablito (shaved ice with mango, mango syrup, Chamoy, chile, and a tamarind-chile candy stick) and Dorilocos. It did not disappoint and it was well worth the drive. I highly recommend this place if you want to try a real, true representation of Mexican snack food and desserts. read more

I really wanted to try this place because I've never seen a drink like this anywhere around here. The chamoyada definitely looks really yummy. Even as I was walking out the store, someone drove by and screamed out the window, "What is that?! It looks delicious!" The mango slush is perfectly sweet and fresh. But the Tajin is definitely present. If you like a lot of Tajin, order it! But we tried to share it between two people and we got sick of it not even half way. I think it definitely would be better if we ordered it light on Tajin next time because the mango part was delicious. They also have a WIDE variety of ice cream and other sweets like flan and churros. Maybe I'll come back to try the those one day. read more

Good value - $2.75 for a cone that is about as big as I can eat. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other flavors, but there's plenty of options for various palates. The chamoyada looks delicious from the pictures I've seen. The place reminds me of an old time ice cream store, down to sitting under fluorescent lights on a bench while trying not to drip one's ice cream everywhere.
