Tried this place. The website made us want to come in and try it out. Let's just say it was like a movie trailer that got you to the movies based on the action, just to get to the movies, and all the action in the movie was on the trailer only. Parking: street and is very hard to do Atmosphere: very bright and colorful Service: Good Ice cream: it was ok. I had the peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The ice cream didn't have a rich cream flavor. The peach cobbler was pre-made and microwaved and didn't have many peaches. It wasn't warm enough. I drove 35 minutes to check out Marlei's Sweet Tooth after seeing a Reel on Instagram. Hahaha! Super cute spot located at 4th and Girard Avenue with an okay selection of flavors. They have vegan options too. Marlei's also has the option to dine in or take out. I opted to dine in. It's definitely a cool vibe. I ordered the " Nana split" with vanilla, banana and party cake ice cream. For the cost of my banana split, I feel customers should not be limited to 3 toppings and apparently cherries are considered a topping. SMH! I was a little disappointed with the portions of ice cream served to me and the presentation but oh well, it was still good. The banana ice cream was my fav! I also had the Turkey pepperoni pizza pretzel which was just okay. I wanted to give this place 5 stars but the customer service was a miss for me. read more

I came here with my hubby, and I have to say this place had probably the best frozen treat I've had in a while! I ordered the milkshake with french toast pieces and it was so delicious. My husband had the peach cobbler with ice cream and also loved his. The decor here was vibrant and cute. I liked the artwork on the wall in bright pastels and swirls. It made for nice ambiance. I am only leaving off a star because there was room for improvement from the staff there. They were two young ladies, and while I wouldn't say they weren't welcoming, I didn't experience the kind of warm customer service that makes you want to stay a while. And maybe that was the problem. We came really close to closing time and I couldn't tell if we were annoying the one young lady or not. I'm sure she had a long day, but good customer service is hard to come by these days and is notable when received. They also were blasting music to the point where it was a little difficult for us to hear one another at points These things didn't take away from the great parts of this restaurant, and I'm excited to go back. read more

Had a taste for some ice cream and heard about Marlei's from Instagram. It's a black owned business so I had to show support. It's a cute place that also hosts events downstairs. The wall colors cool and inviting. It really went well with the space. The cashier was a young woman who was soft spoken, but kind and was able to explain some of the popular menu items. I ordered the French toast with 1 scoop of ice cream. I wanted wet walnuts, but they were out, so I opted for the dry walnuts along with some granola. I also ordered Marlei's Sweet tooth that came with 3 scoops of ice cream. I can say that they take great pride in presentation because when both came out, they looked like fun, creative, and the best part, they tasted great. Love love love this place. So happy my boyfriend and daughter found it on the way back from the park! First off, I want to shoutout the staff at this place. You walk in and instantly feel welcomed. You can tell the owner and staff care about their customers experience. Not every place makes you feel like your business is truly appreciated and I love spending money where it is, esp if it's also supporting a small business. The menu offers something for everyone. Vegan options are available as well as some snacks if someone does not want ice cream. We ordered a lot of different flavors. Everything was delicious They offer quite a bit of toppings, but I'm a simple person lol. I like the fact that the ice cream isn't basic so it is tasty on its own without adding anything. I love ice cream and I am so excited to try all the new shops opening up. I have been to 3 new ice cream shops this summer and each have their own niche. This shop hands down has the best decor with the cool wallpaper and artwork on the walls. The service on the other hand was lackluster. I wasnt really greeted when I came in. No one asked if this was my first time, there was basically no interest in good customer service here. No one talked to me at all or let me know about the specials. However, this other ice cream shop I went to one block from here had theee Best service! Every customer got an upbeat greeting and an explanation about the menu offerings- that alone makes me want to be a repeat customer! The girls at this shop werent rude, they just werent friendly or engaging. The ice cream was expensive and just ok- Nothing about my visit made me me say,"Yess! Let me return!"
