It was interesting when I came in for my friend's birthday that the host did not know where her reservation was. I said I was there for a reservation under my friend's name and he said "oh okay, you can go inside and check to see if she's there" which was fine but a little on the disorganized side. My boyfriend and I sat down at what I assumed was my friend's reservation since it was a big empty table. Our waiter came by about 5-10 minutes after we seated, as it was pretty busy, to give us menus and explained to us the dinner and dance package for $35, which was a great deal! It included soup or salad, an entree, coffee or tea, and our cover for the dance floors. We ordered our drinks with him and waited a while actually for the drinks. Understandable as it was pretty busy. I had the cream of vegetable soup and steak that came with potatoes and mixed veggies. Everything was delicious and I was super full, I couldn't finish my dinner. They have two dance floors here: upper floor is more like a night club scene, lower floor is more salsa and bachata dancing. It was nice that the cover included both dance floors. I will definitely be coming back here for a nice night out for dinner and dancing.

Food: A+ Music: A+ Ambience: A+ Went here with three friends on a Saturday night. We arrived a bit after 9:00PM and missed the dance lesson which was okay because the food was AMAZING. I got their Steak special. It was a little big (10oz I believe) and I wish there was an option for a smaller one. The vegetables and potatoes were all very flavourful. 100% recommend their steak. The aesthetic was beautiful. It's a perfect place for a date night as the fairy lights and ambience is all very romantic in the restaurant side. By 10:30PM, we were ready to hit the dance floor. The main floor is where all the salsa?latin? dancers are. We were basically in awe on how GOOD the dancers were. Since we obviously aren't in their level, we made our way to the lower floor. The lower floor is where the club-y dance is. Music was very good and got you dancing all night long! I personally have not listened to Spanish/Latin music prior to this night but even so, I had lots of fun dancing to the beat and the music. The drinks were on the pricier side but overall it was a fun night.

Friends and I came to El Rancho a few months ago for a friend's bachelorette party. El Rancho had come recommended on a list of places for bachelorette parties. My friend reserved the party package which included several liquor shots, sparkling wine, a cake (in our case, cheesecake), and balloons. We also had a reserved booth for the 6 of us. There were several choices on the prix fixe dinner menu including chicken, steak, and another entree option. All of us ordered the steak option which came with soup or salad, as well as steamed vegetables. Although I was not expecting steakhouse quality meat, the steak was just okay. I was happy that I ordered mine to medium rare doneness. My friends' steaks ordered as well done or medium well came out tough. The cheesecake was pretty decent, and included an assortment of flavours. After dinner (and of course mandatory group photos with sombreros), we proceeded to another room where they had a lovely dance instructor who walked us through steps to learn bachata and another Latin dance. This was a lot of fun. There were several other bachelorette parties also present that night and many also participated in the dance instruction which takes place from 9-10:30pm. After 10:30pm, the Latin dance club opens. It was PACKED with hot sweaty people on the dance floor. This place was busy with lineups outside the door even after 1am (they are open until 3am). El Rancho is good for groups and is worth checking out if you're looking for a one-stop night out with friends who enjoy Latin dancing. 3.5 stars for overall experience.

Arrived just after 7 pm for dinner and headed up the stairs to the 2nd floor restaurant & club. Only 3 other tables occupied at this time so we scored the preferred window table. We were limited to a couple of red wines served by the glass, so as we hesitated our server offered us a small sample of their red wine. We appreciated her kind gesture, but we both felt it tasted like homemade wine your uncle Gino would make back a few decades ago. We opted for white wine and Dos Equis Lager. Cheesy with a multitude of unrelated "themes". Archways, white stucco. Table cloths and linen napkins. Dining in a Spanish & Latin restaurant, we ordered one of the two house specials - Paella Valenciana for 2 $41.95 - Rice, Chicken, Sausage and Seafood, including lots of mussels, oven baked and served in its authentic iron dish. 25 Minutes preparation time so pace yourself or you'll be on round 3 of drinks before ya know it! We both loved the food but stayed clear of the club in the back heading for my favourite tequila bar - Reposado.

After being away from the dance scene I decided to hit the dance floor. We had a dinner reservation which included a package: appetizer, main dish, beverage, dance class and entry to the social. (Entry is usually 12 but Free for woman before 10pm) - package is for $35 My choice of main dish was a medium done sirloin steak with a side of veggies. It was delicious! It was made to satisfy. As for my side I had the carrot soup and bread and butter was complimentary. They also had a great deal for beer. 5 beers on any choice was for $25. They even added a little gift when serving the beer. As for the salsa class: it's not the best but it's an ok prep for a salsa night. The social was good, there was a mix of all ages, music was great as well.

Salsa dancing is fun and flirty, while Bachata can be sensual or playful (a bit of both) and kizomba is sensual.

We ordered a mix of dishes to share, and everything came out beautifully presented. The flavors felt very balanced--nothing overly heavy, just really well thought out. The seafood was especially fresh, and the tapas-style plates made it fun to try a bit of everything. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the pacing of the meal felt just right. It's the kind of place you can come for a relaxed evening but still feel like you're treating yourself a little. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially with friends so we can order more and share.

Our favourites were the oxtail pintxo, bravas, wagyu, churros, and flan--each of these really stood out and delivered on flavour. That said, I was especially excited for the paella, and it unfortunately fell short. I've had better paella from a food truck, and for much cheaper. Between the chicken and striploin, we preferred the chicken as it had a more cohesive flavour. The striploin was cooked closer to rare when we asked for medium rare, making it tough to eat, and the rice itself was quite bland. On a positive note, the service was lovely--attentive, warm, and accommodating throughout the night. Our server checked in often without being intrusive and made the experience feel polished and welcoming. Overall, while the ambience and service made for a great evening, the food didn't quite justify the price for me. Not sure I'd return, but still a nice spot if you're looking for a good atmosphere.

The paella is supposed to be crispy at the bottom, but they don't have that burning crispy feel any more. All the tapas are small volume, finish in bites, expensive at the same time, although they are quite tasty. Our server was a very nice lady with smiles all the time. We went to Talagria for the Father's Day weekend brunch…read more Let's start with the great. Well, nothing. The good. There was an ok variety of food items. The had roasted pork, a roast beef, 2 kinds of paella (seafood, truffle mushroom), garlic shrimp, asparagus, potatoes, a few salads, some dips, eggs, bacon, breads, fruit, a selection of pastries and several other dishes. It was good selection. The problem is that they could not refill the popular dishes fast enough. They sat empty for a while. The bad. The table we sat at was simply too close to the table behind us. There was simply too little room for customers/waiters to walk by - and they did walk by as it's a buffet. But, they kept bumping in to us, asking us to move, and overall, it was just unpleasant. Getting the food is equally as bad. The restaurant was not built or designed for a buffet. So, it comes down to the customers being patient and obedient and just following simple (common sense) rules. That didn't happen several times with several "pushy" customers and were too impatient. Finally, was the $70 per person justified (it's normally $50). Hell, no. I knew what it would cost going in, although I booked 3 weeks in advance (thinking $50) and got a phone call 2 weeks before to warn me it was jumping to $70 due to Father's Day and was I ok with it. Never having been before, I thought, if they can demand $70, it must be great. Sadly, no.

The tapas are really good, though dishes did come out a bit on the slower side. One of those spots that makes you want to order just one more plate. We got: * Half Octopus * Mussels Escabeche * Jamón Croqueta * Shishito Peppers * Sea Bream Ceviche & Chips * Grilled Beef Tongue & Mojo Rojo * Sobrasada & Foie Gras

We ordered the Sea Bream Ceviche and chips, quarter Octopus and Patatas Bravas. The highlight was the ceviche. The octopus was unfortunately a little overdone, which made it tough. I would absolutely not order the patatas bravas again. The potatoes were very dry and tasted as if they had been sitting out for some time. We also sat at the bar and had a few ordered of cocktails with the food. Be aware that the bar itself slopes down towards you. With that being said, my partner put her drink down on the sloped part and it fell all over both of us, with the bartender seeing it all unfold. He was nice in providing some extra napkins to dry ourselves off, but all he had to offer was "Yup that happens a lot" as opposed to maybe offering to remake the drink which was now 2/3 empty as a result. Was a little disappointed at that service in particular, especially when you're paying upwards of $18 for a small cocktail. The atmosphere was good, however. IF I were to give it another try, I'd probably just opt for drinks and skip the food, which was a little pricier for what you're getting portion-wise and quality.

Was honestly really good. Looking at all the other reviews here it seems like a mixed bag. But this one was great. Maybe the others aren't always good? The paella is made to order and is cooked in front of you though so maybe they don't have their QA locked in. Our experience was great. Super flavorful. Only thing is that there wasn't really any socarrat (which is the best part!). Purists will say this is required for a paella to be good but I enjoyed myself anyway. Gambas: incredible. I could come back here for just this. The sauce was unreal and so flavorful. No notes. Bread: we got up sold on the bread. Went great wiping up the gambas sauce but the bread itself wasn't that great as far as bread goes. Service: Service was not bad. Pretty prompt and didn't wait long for anything. Ambiance: Pretty cute. Decor is colorful and very Spanish.

The ham croquettes were delicious and paired with an amazing garlic aioli. The grilled chorizo was also great but the garlic aioli muted the chorizo taste unfortunately.
