    Quesadilla birria
    Patrick W.

This taco truck has some pretty great tasting birria food Must come get tacos on Tuesday and recommend the quesabirria tacos, birria quesadilla, and more. The birria is so tasty and juicy and meat very satisfying and cheese was good gluten do wish more was in the tacos. The qusadilla was pretty big and very filling big birria flavors definitely recommend them but all the taco flavors are great and good choices here with friendly service and was quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Yes it's a great choice for tacos and has spots to sit in group of tables or est in the car.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love to stop by when the taco truck comes behind best buy at the parknride by mira mesa and 15fw.

Great place to grab some tacos on the weekend. We have been here twice so far. Very good customer service. The location is a little hidden though. They park in the lot next to the Best Buy. Right next to the Goodwill donation area. The tacos are very tasty. A little skimpy on the meat, but the flavor is there for sure. I like the little pieces of pineapple on every Al pastor taco. The trompo is right by the window and you can see them cut the meat off. First time trying a gringa. It's basically an open quesadilla with meat. We've seen them on the menu at alot of places in the Yucatan tourist areas but never tried one until now. The quesadilla was cooked face down to get a cheese crust. Then they top with meat, onions/cilantro, and pineapple pieces. It was delicious! There are salsa bottles at the tables. The white one is a garlic crema and the red one is the regular salsa. They go really well together on the food. Horchata and Jamaica for drinks. Self service. The Jamaica is pretty good. We didn't try the Horchata. Overall, this place is pretty good.

Do you want to know why I appreciate this taco truck? Because they enjoy feeding everyone. The taco truck is only here on Saturdays and Sundays, and I believe it is in Poway on other days. The owners and staff are really wonderful! I really value how attentive they are. I've come here several times, and one time they noticed I was cold and moved the space heater to my table. Another time, they noticed me spilling taco juice all over the place and offered me extra napkins without asking. These small gestures of kindness are becoming increasingly scarce in the world. The Gringa tacos are my favorite item to order. It's enormous, delicious, and fulfilling. According to legend, there was a Gringa who requested a flour tortilla with meat and cheese every day. That's all. That's what they told me, haha. I thought, "That sounds like me, but I'm not a Gringa."

Probably the best tacos in mira mesa! It's a shame it's only here friday through sunday. I love their street tacos and they also do fries really well. My favorite meat here is the beef belly!! The birria is solid as well but is only offered on certain days. I find the al pastor to be a hit or miss - sometimes it's flavorful and sometimes it's more bland! As for the sauces, the white one is really good. I also like the orangey/red one because it offers a kick. Definitely recommend giving this place a shot!

This food truck is an absolute hidden gem tucked behind the Best Buy at Mira Mesa. The service is quick and the prices are so affordable. The tacos are absolutely packed with flavor and I loved the Gringa, which was gigantic and loaded with al pastor!

Soooo glad they're in Poway every Wednesday now. They're located behind UVAS (used to be Mission Cellars Winery) off Midland Rd in Old Poway. Their pastor tacos and asada tacos are delicious! Great customer service too. Their salsas are great and vinegar garlic sauce is bomb! Can't wait for next Wednesday!

$1.50 adobada tacos on taco Tuesdays :D I've been ordering mine to-go and they give you a plate wrapped in tin foil. I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful the meat and sauces are. They add some pineapple pieces on top too. For only $1.50, it's super cheap and super delicious :) Give this place a try!

    Delicious tacos!

It's similar to Al pastor without the pineapple though. The meat was tender and the flavor was authentic. My partner liked this one the most! What shocked me was the carne asada. The taco was delicious!! It had a wonderfully smoky flavor to the meat and it was juicy and tender. I have been craving it ever since!! This was my favorite. There's no seating downstairs but if you go upstairs you'll find some tables! Be warned that it's hot upstairs. But since you chow down the food quickly you won't be there for too long anyway. If you're visiting San Diego, this is a must!!

Tacos El Gordo did not disappoint!…read more We were on a road trip from the Bay Area to Ontario and decided on a last-minute dinner stop at Tacos El Gordo in San Diego. We figured we had to make the detour -- and honestly, it was worth it! The lines can get pretty long, but don't let that scare you away. They move fairly quickly, although it depends on how complicated people's orders are. The Al Pastor line was probably the longest, but that's probably because everyone knows what's good! Since we made the trip out here, we went all in and ordered about 11 items: 1 Lengua Mulita - This was my first time trying a mulita and it was amazing. Basically a taco sandwich with cheese, and the combination of the crispy tortilla, melted cheese, and tender lengua was . 2 Lengua Taco - The lengua was just as tender and flavorful as I remembered from about 10 years ago. It brought back some nostalgia and definitely lived up to expectations. 1 Cabeza Taco - Probably my favorite taco of the night. The meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Definitely a must-try. 2 Asada Tacos - Solid tacos. They were good, but compared to the other options, they didn't stand out as much. 4 Al Pastor Tacos - These were amazing! The al pastor was super flavorful, juicy, and not dry at all. I can see why this line was so long. 1 1/2 Al Pastor Fries - The avocado sauce really brought everything together. The fries, meat, and toppings combined into a perfect late-night meal. We also ordered the grilled onions and jalapeños on the side, which were a great addition and paired really well with everything, just walk up to the ladies that's pressing the tortillas, no need to wait in line. Overall, Tacos El Gordo was definitely worth the stop. The portions, flavors, and quality were exactly what we were hoping for. If you're in San Diego, expect a wait -- but trust me, it's worth it. 5 stars but subtracting 1 just because after ordering the Al Pastor tacos, then waiting for the other lines for the other meats, food went from hot/fresh to warm pretty much, but that's on us since it was only Me and another person.

There were a couple of groups dining in and someone picking up a to-go order, but there was still plenty of seating available. The employee working the counter was friendly. They also serve alcohol, and during my visit drinks were 20% off. Options included Pacifico, Modelo, Blue Moon, hard seltzers, and a selection of canned craft beers. I ordered: * Mahi Mahi Taco: the fish tasted fresh, and I liked the crispy onions on top. There was quite a bit of sauce, which made it pretty messy to eat. While the fish was good, it felt like a very heavy taco overall. * Surf & Turf Taco: this was loaded with steak and topped with two flavorful shrimp. The shrimp had an amazing flavor, and this taco was much more enjoyable and balanced. Overall, the service was great, the prices were very reasonable, and the protein quality was excellent. My only critique is that the tacos felt a little overdone with toppings and sauces when the quality of the protein could easily stand on its own. Still, it's a solid spot for an affordable late-night bite. One thing to note: there are no restrooms available inside the restaurant.

Sometimes, there are nights when only tacos can fix me. It's no secret that San Diego has tacos in…read morespades and being so close to the border, you'd think that a quest to find the perfect taco would be as simple as rolling down to the nearest taqueria. Except, it's not quite that simple. Many beloved staples have gone downhill, while some newer spots that might boast things like a Michelin mention or multiple locations ranging from TJ to Vegas contain more hype and gristle than tender meat and substance. Enter Chula Tacos. Chula is, and always was, the type of place that makes you forget that you're not actually in Tijuana. While part of me misses their OG Market Street location, seeing them with brick-and-mortars feels hard-earned and well-deserved. This location on Palm in IB is relatively easy to access from the freeway, but parking can be tricky. You can safely assume that it will be busy and you will either have to be very lucky or be willing to find a spot on the street. Out of all the times I've been here, it's always been crowded enough that I've never been able to find a table inside, but I enjoy sitting out on the patio next to the ahumederos. The first thing that hits you walking through the door is how amazing everything smells. The queue to the cashier takes you near a window showing the kitchen where you can see the Chula Tacos team making fresh tortillas, slicing meat from the trompos, grilling up jalapenos, nopales, onions, labio, and tripa. For me, it's not so much a challenge to decide what I want, it's more a challenge to keep myself from ordering everything. My usual is four tacos: two asada, two al pastor (but I've heard that I should also try their world famous keka). The tacos though? Perfection. Every time, the asada is the juiciest and most tender I've ever eaten, the al pastor is succulent and flavorful, and no taco in front of me is long for the world. At $3.50 each, every one of them is absolutely loaded. Three would honestly fill me up, but I always want four. After getting burned by spots that ask around 75% more and deliver anywhere between 25-50% less, Chula Tacos feels like an absolute godsend of a Tijuana-style taqueria and I can't see any other contenders being my go-to. So, when I say "Tacos will fix me," what I mean nowadays is "Chula Tacos will fix me."

Every item we ordered was packed with delicious flavors and made fresh. The highlight of the menu is the Keka Taco. It is incredibly delicious, loaded with flavor, and so filling that it can easily satisfy even the biggest appetite. The only downside to this establishment is the limited parking, which can make picking up your order a bit challenging during busy times. However, the amazing food and generous portions more than make up for the parking inconvenience. If you're in the area, the Keka Taco is a must-try!
