    The Truck
    Jack M.

It's always nice to run into a new food truck. This is an interesting truck, given it's own by a Turkish gentleman who makes some pretty good Mexican Food. I had the grilled fish burrito. It was a very good burrito and came very well wrapped. The fish was very well seasoned and tender. The mayo base sauce was very good too and complimented the fish well. I liked all the freshly chopped cabbage, tomatoes and onions. The flour tortillas was of a good quality and tasted good. I only had the creamy chipotle sauce as an add on and it was very good. It offered good flavor and a mild heat. Service was good. You can find the truck on Imperial across the street from the Walmart Neighborhood Market.

I'm currently sitting outside Duck Foot Brewing, drinking great beer and eating THE BEST DAMN CARNE ASADA FRIES I'VE EVER EATEN!! These fries are not your ordinary carne asada fries. They feel like a French cuisine meets Mexican street food hybrid sensation! The sauces are AMAZING! The fries came drizzled with a creamy sauce that is out of this world! The salsa on the side is hot, smoky and delightful. The carne asada is fresh and juicy and tender. Dear lord. I wish I had a bigger stomach! If you have the opportunity, treat yourself!!

We just ate some of the BEST TACOS that we have ever had!!! The carne asada and surf-n-turf tacos were so good!!!! Definitely coming back here for more. Oh, and their hot sauce is no joke!!!!

Convenient location. Delicious food! Ordered carne asada fries and shrimp ceviche tostada. Tender marinated steak and fresh shrimp! Complimentary cup of tomato soup was unexpected and warms you up. Stopping here every trip back to SD.

I honestly should have walked away and tried again another time because everything in me wants to love this place and give it 5 stars so a lot of this is on me for staying. But if I need to give an honest review of my experience, this one was lackluster. The vendor was friendly but I definitely felt rushed. The food came out visually beautiful but was outrageously expensive. The burekas are large so if you want to try two flavors you're looking at least $30 pre tax and tip. I would have rather they be smaller like empanada size and get to try a few more affordably without having to go in on it with friends if I happen to be alone that day. On the other hand, if you are with family or a group of friends, this would be perfect for sharing! I want to say that it was delicious and worth the price but their fresh crunchy olives that came as an accompaniment were actually the highlight of my experience. I ordered the classic potato bureka and the strawberry ricotta. The classic potato was served barely lukewarm so it didn't taste great. And the strawberry ricotta had a weird cheese to jam ratio--the inside was hardly strawberry. More than anything it tasted like grainy powder sugar ricotta. I would like to give them another chance, and when I do, I will update my review accordingly. I'm hoping this was just an off night and for 5 stars next time because they look and smell amazing and in theory this is the type of thing I would love.

On this first visit, I had two beef birria tacos and one beef quesa birria taco. Both types of tacos were delicious. The highlight was no doubt the beef birria on each tacos. It's flavor was beefy and well seasoned, not to mention was bathed in a red chile broth that packed great flavor. I really appreciated the fact that they did not over use the clove like many other places do. It was all about the beef flavor here. The tacos came with fresh chopped cilantro, red onions, and a side of spicy pickled onions with habaneros, sliced cucumbers, lime wedges, and a red and green hots sauces. Both hot sauces were very tasty and offered a medium heat. The brother and sister team are very cool. They mean for you to have a great meal, with friendly service of course. There's plenty of parking. They offer outside eating tables with shade.

I had the quesataco with birria which was packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, and completed very well by their red and green salsas. Dear Management, I…read moream writing to bring a disappointing experience at the Jarochos Birria truck to your attention regarding an overpayment that occurred today, April 28th. My daughter and I visited your truck to take advantage of the $1.50 taco special and ordered 16 Al pastor tacos, totaling $24. When paying, I mistakenly handed the staff member--a woman in a red shirt--two $20 bills and a $5 bill, totaling $45. Although I intended to leave a small tip, I inadvertently left an extra $20 bill with your staff. When I returned shortly after to rectify the mistake and explained that I had provided three bills (two $20s and one $5), the staff member denied receiving the extra $20, claiming I had only provided $3 extra. Despite my clear recollection of the transaction, she refused to return the overpayment. As someone who enjoys supporting local food trucks and shares my dining experiences with a following of over 10,000 people, I am deeply saddened by this lack of honesty. I had hoped to remain a loyal customer, but this experience has unfortunately changed my perspective on your business. I wanted to ensure you were aware of this incident so it can be addressed internally to prevent similar situations with other customers in the future. Best Regards, Jason
