Incredible Birria Tacos -- A Must-Try! Birria Mi Gusto Es is easily one of the best taco trucks I've ever come across! Their birria tacos are absolutely phenomenal -- the beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender, bursting with rich, smoky flavors, and the crispy tortillas are the perfect complement. Having traveled extensively through Mexico, I can confidently say this is some of the best birria I've ever had. If you're looking for an unforgettable lunch, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won't be disappointed!

I was asked, like many places do, to leave them a review. Happily in this case I am quite content to publicly endorse them! Don't have birria too often, as most SD taco shops simply don't have it. This taco truck specializes in it, and despite the higher than average cost for their burrito or quesadilla, is worth the $16 craveable flavor. The burrito in particular is grilled slightly crisper on its side for a little more flavor & crisp. If you're looking for something small and cheaper with all the flavor, recommend the $5.50 birria quesotaco or $8 mulita. Over the past 3 weeks, I've probably visited them at least six times, having multiple tacos, quesotacos, burritos, and a quesadilla. Consomme is not complimentary and is a $3 side, however each birria item is an sufficiently juicy delicious mess! If that mess is a concern, the burrito can be the most manageable mess if you keep the wrapper on the bottom while eating from the unwrapped top. Don't forget to grab extra napkins & use the hand sanitizer! Please note they're only open & present during work weekdays, and only til 1p. If you're nearby in Sorrento Valley, Miramar, or Mira Mesa, give Birria MI Gusto ES a shot. read more

I feel their food is a little above price but they do give a big portion. I had the birria roman and it was ok a little too salty for me but everyone's different they did give a lot of meat which is great. The area is kinda hard because it's such a busy street to park and if they're busy it's even harder. read more

Birria mi gusto es located on a busy corner in the Miramar area. There was construction going on near by so it was hard to find a place to park. The food was just okay, nothing special. I ordered the Quesa Birria tacos and an order of the consomé which comes with salsa and limes. The food lacked that strong salty Birria flavor, you had to use an entire container of salsa and a couple slices of lime for each taco for it to be very flavorful. The salsa was very watery and almost had no flavor as well, just spicy. The tacos were $5.50 a piece which is pretty expensive for Birria and I wouldn't have minded if it was amazing but it fell short. They serve your food in a paper tray and a produce bag. You pay $20 bucks for a meal and you don't even get a real bag or container for your food. I wouldn't recommend this place for Birria. read more

And the strawberry ricotta had a weird cheese to jam ratio--the inside was hardly strawberry. More than anything it tasted like grainy powder sugar ricotta. I would like to give them another chance, and when I do, I will update my review accordingly. I'm hoping this was just an off night and for 5 stars next time because they look and smell amazing and in theory this is the type of thing I would love.

I was nervous about coming without a reservation, but my husband and I arrived early and were able to grab a spot at the bar no problem. We started with the beignets that can either be served sweet or savory. We opted for the sweet which came with a sesame and matcha dipping paste. They were fresh and clearly made to order! They were a great start! For entrees, I got the Japanese curry and my husband got the duck and waffle. The curry was so good! I loved the whipped egg on top. It was so light and fluffy. The portion was huge and I was able to take about half of it home for a second meal. I was full from the delicious brunch, but still ordered a matcha to go. It was the only thing that I thought wasn't so great. I didn't love the matcha and the strawberry puree was a little too chunky for my liking. Everything else was great though! I kept thinking a lemon or strawberry element would brighten it up nicely, and even a little salt could have made the flavors pop more. I feel like the texture of the dip should have leaned a bit more foamy for easier dipping. Duck Confit The duck was incredibly tender with crispy skin. I also loved the chili oil and felt it added such a nice kick. The passion fruit sauce was interesting and creative, but a bit too strong for my taste and overpowered the dish a little. I actually think a simple maple syrup would've worked better here. The waffle itself was decent, though I wish it had been crispier and had a bit more flavor on its own. Curry Hamburger The egg was light and nicely cooked. The curry leaned pretty salty, but it was smooth and flavorful. I really enjoyed the rice - it had a smoky, earthy flavor from the mushrooms that added a lot of depth. The hamburger patty helped balance out the saltiness well

I recently visited Birria mi Gusto es, and I was blown away by the food! If you're a birria fan, this spot is a must-try. The flavors were rich, and the meat was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The consome was perfectly seasoned, and dipping the tacos in it took them to a whole new level of deliciousness. The staff was friendly and made the experience even better by offering great recommendations. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food you get. Their birria tacos were fire, and I mean it, all biases aside, my suegras food is hands down the best mexican food BUT this place is an exception. The birria was soft and tender and stayed juicy till the very end. Tortillas were crispy and weren't soggy from the consomme. It held its texture very well. They're located in between the carpet tile and flooring depot and the ferrellgas yard. You have to try this place if you're in the miramar area the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Birria Mi Gusto Es is hands down one of the best birria spots I've tried. The tacos are packed with flavorful meat, and the consomé is rich and perfect for dipping. The balance of spices is just right, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients. Service is quick and friendly, even during busy times.
