I've been bringing my family to this spot for raspados, juices, esquites and Takis w/nacho cheese for years. I appreciate that they are family-owned and locally-owned. This is how we keep our community supported. The señoras that work there are very friendly and nice even to those of us with not the best Spanish skills, they are always smiling which is a relief. All the raspados are delicious and fresh, made with real fruit. My favorite is nuez and coco! My only suggestion would be to have little tables and chairs inside so we don't have to eat our raspado in the car read more

This used to be my favorite place for raspados and would drive all the way from San Diego for them but it is unfortunate that I have to write this review and will no longer be going. My husband and I went yesterday and the two ladies that were there were extremely unprofessional. The moment my husband and I walked in one of the ladies started talking to the other lady about my husband. I believe that no matter where you work you should be professional and not say comments such as , "look at that fine man". Especially in front of his wife. Best esquites in town! Literally! I have tried esquites everywhere in Riverside (including the elotero man) and these by far are the best. The limon, the epazote. It all makes it delicious. And don't even get me started on the raspados! They are incredibly delicious. The nuez one comes with pieces of nuez. It's amazing. They have such a great selection of items to choose from, it is seriously difficult to decide on just one. They have great customer service. Only downside is there are no restrooms. But this place still deserves 5 stars for all the deliciousness! During the summer they extend their closing hours. The wait in line is never too long. And you get a good look at the menu as you are waiting. My only suggestion would be to add tables and chairs to be able to eat my esquite on-site. So I have been to many Raspados places before. But this one I would never go to. First things lets clear, I look for 2 major thing in a service/ food based business. First obviously food they serve, and the second is their customer service. Third and forth and so on would include the cleanliness, ambiance etc etc. But the first two is very important to me. The above points goes to anyone who knows a Restaurant or any food or any service business. And I don't care to say the least that Language or Race does not matter. You are serving food, so you better check your ingredients and the presentation and the dish itself. In this case we ordered 3 Raspados. We got 1. Mango Strawberry, 2. Cucumber Lime 3. Cream with Strawberries. The first two raspados were decent. And the third one was decent too, however, at the very end of the cup my dad observed that it was a very thick HAIR. Looking at it, that I just had that thing, I almost puked. I showed the hair to the person who made that cream with strawberries and this is what she mentioned "YOU HAD THE ENTIRE THING SO WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT" So i told her that "you are telling us that you don't know how the hair came in my cup, nor you are ready to do anything about it" she is like yea. Now mind you if it was anyof our hair, how in the world it would be at the bottom of the cup. So at this point, this place is totally out of my books and I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you cannot deliver and check your ingredients properly than you have no rights to serve food to others as people can get sick due to your served food. And on top of that you have the worst Customer Sevice. Hence, in bigger restaurants they have an entire book of various allergies so people don't sue them. I couldn't believe someone could make a raspado taste so much different than another. Whenever I go to a new place like this I always order the sure thing that I know I will like or will help me determine whether this place is good or not. The coconut raspado is what I ordered. I'm glad I ordered the small cause this thing was loaded!! I wish I would have snapped a picture of the big chunks of real coconut in my raspado but I was so damn excited to eat it! They give you a huge diameter straw as well so that you are able to slurp some of the delicious fruit chunks that they give you in the raspados. My small raspado came out to $3.50 total. Reading other reviews I don't believe they accept "plastic" payments so make sure and bring cash just in case. I had $5 on me so I didn't run into that problem. read more

I walked in to get shaved ice and tostilocos. The smell was awful. When the guy finally came out he was wearing gloves. I asked him if they were latex (I'm allergic to latex). He just stared at me up and down. I told him I was allergic to latex ( some gloves look like latex but they are from other materials) the guy was mean and said with an attitude "sorry that's your problem". Not a bad place to get raspados but I've definitely had much better. Here they fill your cup with mostly ice, and it also has large chunks of it! The flavors don't really shine through because its diluted down with ice. They also don't give you a lot of mango chunks with your drink. I ordered the chamango (4.50) which is refreshing on a hot day in riverside but like I said, the flavors were really lacking. You can even see in the picture that the color is very light. I was a regular here until they were really rude and acted like I was in the wrong. I ordered my usual and the coconut was rancid. I ALWAYS get the same thing every time and the coconut milk is always sweet and delicious. This time it was as if it was going bad. I was already on my way home when I took my first sip and it tasted rancid. I drive back and I tell the girl that it is bad. I was really nice because I frequent there. But all she did was stare at me and she asked what was wrong I told her again for the second time the coconut is bad. She asked why I didn't say anything before? With an attitude. After repeating my problem for the third time, The second girl comes out and asks me what was wrong I told her and explain to her once more my raspado was bad. They both now took the time to sample it and told me it was fine. They even knew it was my usual! They offered me some but I was so irritated with them giving me attitude and acting like I was wrong. So I said no to the rancid coconut milk they were fakely enjoying One of the girls leans into the other girls ear in Spanish and says "Es que no le gusto!" (She just didn't like it) honestly, this kind of unprofessionalism was unecessary. My family frequents here and they will no longer be coming here. You girls could've simply said "SORRY, WOULD YOU LIKE ANOTHER." that would have just been fine with me instead of having you guys waste my time trying to prove me wrong and show me how your customer service skills are very poor. The coconut milk was rancid. Period. Meaning it was bad. Health Inspectors would love to hear about rancid coconut milk being sold. I'm glad they hire people with poor customer service skills who obviously don't know what to do in situations like this. You have lost a loyal customer. ***My other family member had visited a day before my visit and mentioned that her raspado, which is the exact same thing I get, tasted a bit rancid but very subtle. I sadly don't like this place one bit! I tried to like it , I really did. But it's way too over priced and the service is pretty mediocre. It must be good to an extent because it gets pretty packed but that's the problem , it is over crowded with one employee in the back . I have been 3 times and 2 of the 3 times it took over 30 min to be helped and pay 7$ for a half ass made corn the third time I walked out after 15 min .
