This was one of the most frightening dining experiences my family has ever had. When we placed our order, we clearly informed the restaurant that my sister has a **severe seafood allergy** and specifically requested **no shrimp and no seafood** in her picada. Despite that, our meal arrived with **four large shrimp** mixed in with the meat. After eating, my sister quickly became extremely weak and ill. She suffered a severe allergic reaction and had to inject herself with her EpiPen. We then had to monitor her closely because an allergic reaction like this can become fatal within minutes. This was not just a mistake it was a life-threatening situation. When we contacted the restaurant, the manager, Martin Rivera, simply stated that shrimp normally comes with the picada. However, no one informed us of that when we specifically requested **no seafood** because of a serious allergy. Instead of acknowledging the severity of what had happened, showing genuine concern, or taking responsibility, the only resolution offered was a refund. A refund does not erase the fact that my sister's life was put at risk. Food allergies are not preferences they are medical emergencies. Restaurants have a responsibility to take allergy requests seriously and ensure that meals are prepared safely. The lack of concern and accountability shown by management was deeply disappointing. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially families with food allergies. I sincerely hope they change their policies and train their staff before another customer experiences an even more tragic outcome. read more

The food is below average, no taste or at times it was salty. Their service can definitely improve. They have zero WiFi for customers, they claim that someone tried to hack into their tablets and that's why they do not offer Wi-Fi. They have another restaurant approximately 3 miles west but they have Wi-Fi for customers. The parents in the restaurant is like if you walked into a time capsule, the men's bathroom has wallpaper and it's falling off and it looks nasty. And it is a shame because that restaurant is in the perfect area to to serve the community and be extremely successful I strongly recommend that the owners may changes within their staff specifically the manager or have them retrained, including the Manager. Unfortunately, until they make a change and everything improves, I can not recommend this Resturant. read more

I've been coming here every Sunday and sometimes on Saturday for a loooong time. My dad loves this place, so we have our weekend lunches here. Today I ordered, for the first time ever, the half chicken criollo. With white rice (cause I thought criollo meant saucy) and steamed veggies. Well! There was no sauce. But the chicken (2 full leg thigh quarters!) were baked/ roasted to perfection. The skin was golden and crispy and the meat was moist and delicious. Oh my! This is def my new fave. My other faves, are the bandeja paisa (a bounty of meats, rice beans fried egg omg). The mazas de puerco fritas (trust me, you will have leftovers) are soooo good! The Chicken empanizado. And --- drum rollllll---- the sopa de res ( beef and veg soup). This is def the best meal at this restaurant. It comes with a huge bowl of soup with large chunks of meltinyourmouth beef, root veggies, zucchini, corn cobs, etc, rice (on the side) and garlic bread (on the side). The restaurant decor/atmosphere is what is expected for a middle of the road latin restaurant, the service is spotty but friendly, the prices are a little higher than you'de expect. I recommend the delicious fresh and crispy salad and the steamed veggies as your side dishes. The tostones are hit or miss: sometimes delicious and sometimes not so much. For the quality and quantity of food and the service, this restaurant beats both La Carreta and Isla Canaria, which are comparable eateries. The food and service are exceptional at this Rinconcito. The ambiance is also good and clean. Kevin took care of us quite frankly first rate. The food came out fast, hot and picture perfect. The second time we came Silvia took care of us. Also exceptionally Professional fast and friendly. My 10 year old daughter wanted me to mention that the milkshakes and food are spectacular. This restaurant has several locations around Miami and we happen to visit the one closest to us. The food was good and the service very friendly. There are some Cuban restaurants where you don't feel like a customer; instead you feel like a family member. You're never rushed and they constantly check on you to make sure you're doing okay. The servers were very sweet and the food hot and delicious. It was the lead up week to Christmas so they were dealing with tons of carry out orders but that didn't seem to distract the staff from providing great service. We ordered the classic palomilla steak with white rice, plantain chips with garlic sauce, fried sweet plantains and chicken tenders for the kids. The portions for the price you pay is one of main positive you get a lot of food to share especially a family our size. The flavors is where it lacking a bit the palomilla steak was a little bland and same for the chicken tenders. The plantain chips were good and garlic dipping sauce was a home run! We love El Rinconcito Latino. We probably order from this place at least once a week. Everything we've ever had is delicious. We have never been disappointed with our food at this restaurant. We don't go into the location often because it's so comfortable to eat at home and they make it super convenient. When you call to place the order the staff is always very polite and helpful. The food always arrives in great condition, it must have to do with how fast they deliver. And the portions are huge If you're in the areas and are craving Cuban food don't hesitate to stop at this place. You won't be disappointed. read more

I came here with two of my friends. One was having issues with her stomach so decided to drop and get some chicken soup and some Malaga. My other friend got the breast chicken a plancha with a lettuce and fried plantations. I got a small chicken soup and the fufu with the pork chunks it comes together. SW 40 st. I ordered 2 arroz imperial for lunch for pick up. When eating I noticed there was only one bite of chicken. It was rice and ham and cheese...no chicken but one bite. I called and let them know I would go after work to return the food. When I went after work, I had eaten 1/2 of one order and was returning the full second order. The manager Jose said since since I ate half of one order he could not refund that order. Never mind apologizing that it did not have chicken. MIND YOU, I did not get what I ordered because I did not order rice with HAM. Very insensitive to the customer this manager Jose (so he says). Note, I use to be a customer that ordered 3 times a week from here. Until last year that this same thing happened to me and I stop ordering. I tried again today, but nothing has changed. THIS RESTAURANT will fail with this Terrible customer service and arroz imperial with no chicken and treating customer like a criminal trying to take advantage of the resturant by asking for a refund for the terrible food. Thankfully, I do not need the money financially, and can live with only one refund. But, the restaurant has lost a regular customer of 3 times a week. They did not serve the dish they are selling... A total made up version of arroz imperial that has rice and ham and cheese and only one bite of chicken... IT is ridiculous! Today we ordered 2 large chicken soups and 2 orders of vaca frita. The soup was not bad, usually pretty consistent, however the vaca frita was extremely greasy, overcooked and the bunch of onions they throw in there to make up for the lack of beef smelled rancid. 2 orders of vaca frita at $18.50 each and getting extremely greasy, overcooked (to a crisp) beef and rancid onions is not cool. This place really needs to get their act together. It used to be a pretty solid Cuban food but unfortunately it no longer is. This isn't the first time we've experienced bad food here but today was the straw that broke the camel's back. If it wasn't that my wife was craving chicken soup I probably wouldn't have gone. I kinda feel bad for the waiters because they are pretty nice. Would not recommend. So many other options just a little further away. read more

This place is your basic cheap Latin food for a decent price. From the moment it arrived at the table i could smell this foul odor wafting in with it. Im usually pretty congested so for ME to smell something it has to be really noticeable. Why a server, who could obviously smell the stench of rancid grease, delivers the food regardless, is completely insane. The Churrasco was cooked totally well done. why bother?! I was starving and figured id just try it rather than to attempt to send anything back. Quarter of the way through i was already feeling nauseous. I ended up eating the rice and beans and the plantains that were edible. When the server finally managed to pull herself away from the gossip behind the register to see if i needed anything. I told her that the steak was basically cooked in rancid grease and inedible and asked her if she couldn't smell it when she brought it out. After staring at me for an awkward few, she grabbed what she could and cleared the table. She then came back with the check; dropping it off and walking off like nothing had just happened. I would have asked to speak to someone but by then i felt like the baby was crowning and if i didn't leave right then and there it was bout to get REAL (ugly!).
