The dipping sauces provided were some sort of cilantro mayo nightmare and an orange goopy thing that despite trying 2-3 bites of, we still couldn't figure out wtf was in it. My mom's palomilla was pleasing to her. The tostones on her plate looked refried. I ordered the vaca frita...totally soggy and swimming in grease. My tostones were kinda soft and on the ripe side. For breakfast, usually I order Perico, this a plate from Central America (owners are from El Salvador) Is a scramble eggs with cut in small pieces peppers, onions, tomatoes & ham that comes with a side that I order Grits. Today I fell a need a change and order Chicken sandwich (chicken breast fillet with lettuce, saute onions, tomatoes and mayonnaise on Cuban bread panini style) that come with Crunchy potatoes sticks ($6.99) Before eating the sandwich order Cafe con Leche & Cuban toast with butter ($2.84) Love to dunk the hot buttered toast into the Cuban coffee that I prepared with two tea spoon of sugar and a pinch of salt; a child tradition that I still have. Wife had scramble egg white with tomatoes, onions, Swiss cheese comes with Cafe con Leche (Cuban coffee & milk) and Cuban toast no butter ($6.99) Our server Silvia was great, the food was spot on. They have different arrays of natural juices (watermelon being my favorite). We used to go there for dinner every day and split a meal for only $10 with tax and we'd both leave super full. They have the usual fare but somehow they make everything taste better here. When they press the buttered toast flat, its crispy & delicious. The Boliche is always moist, Carne con Papa is flavorful, & wow the Vaca Frita.......it's basically a huge chunk of Churrasco-type meat. Its crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Its not your typical dried out vaca frita that takes a hundred chews to swallow a piece. This one is perfect! Even their fries are good. They serve perfectly seasoned thick steak fries, my fav! Plus they have a few unsual items for a Latin restaurant.......like the Fried Rice (a giant mound of rice on a plate) or the Chicken & Pasta (OMG to die for! Big chunks of chicken breast, with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese on spaghetti) Try the "Crema de Vegetales" its my favorite soup there. (Vegetable soup) Its creamy and buttery. I think it has pumpkin it it which I would normally hate but tastes soooo good in this. Cheap, delicious, huge portions. Plus they have a few tables outside. This used to be our family spot... But the quality of the food has decreased some. The food arrived cold and with less flavor. It took a long time to arrive at the table, although the waitress tried her best to assure me it was on the way. I was particularly disappointed with the cost of the eggs. I had ordered a meal with two sides and an extra side of fried eggs over easy. When I looked at the bill, I had been charged $6.99 for two eggs alone. I knew it was extra but not that much extra. Typically, that is the price of a complete breakfast, but in the receipt it did not state a complete breakfast, with hashbrowns, bacon, cafe con leche and toast. It was simply two eggs for $6.99. Waitress Elizabeth, blonde cuban girl came to take our order. Not once looked at us while asking our order. I've lived by Bird Rd my entire life and always passed by this restaurant until today. I didn't know how great it was. Great Cuban food. The Vaca Frita was perfect!! So delicious. We didn't have any desert today because of how full we were but they had a lot of options. The portions are just as I had hoped, very generous, it did not disappoint.... We all left stuffed and with a lot of food to take home! The server and staff were all so helpful. We were a part of about 11 and they sat us quick even though it was pretty busy already. The food did not take long at all on top of it being a busy day. This is a great place for family, friends and people who want a variety of Latin food that serves a generous portion... Love it! Rinconcito is the kind of place we order from when we're all too lazy to cook. We almost always order the vaca frita. When I first started having the vaca frita from here about a year ago, it was always excellent and a reliable solid meal. However lately, it has just been inconsistent. Undercooked, soggy, overly greasy, etc. But every now and then I get a really good vaca frita. So, you just never know with this place. The good thing is that the portions are huge. Four of us eat perfectly from the vaca frita entree for about $10. We get it with rice (a huge amount) and maduros. The sides have always been good. I recently tried the crema de calabaza (cream of pumpkin) and I wouldn't have it again; it was overly sweet and had a strange texture. The service is almost always rude (in person and over the phone) and when I go to the counter to pick up my food, the ladies are usually flirting with the men (typical Miami). But the price is right due to the large portions, given you catch them on one of their good days. Oh and they deliver! A lazy girl like me always loves a place that delivers. Conclusively, it's alright - nothing crazy good but nothing absolutely horrendous. It does the job when I'm hungry. read more

The Restaurant also offers "cantina" service ($35 for 5 meals per week pickup or $40 with delivery). The daily choices are varied so it is hard to be bored week in and week out. Their daily specials are delicious and their service is very friendly. A day before this past New Year's Eve 2021, I talked to Mr. Martin, the restaurant manager and ordered 10 servings of Lechon Asado (Roasted Pork) with citrus mojo & onions, which comes with 2 sides (we selected moros rice & sweet plantains). That day Mr. Martin was able to accommodate my order within an hour & they helped me take the large aluminum pans to the car. We took the food to our family in Fort Lauderdale so they could experience a Latin New Year 's Day dinner. Well, they all loved it, it was delicious and there was plenty of food. As I do not speak Spanish, I originally leaned towards Sergio's with their online ordering, however the reviews for El Riconcito Latino restaurant won me over. (I had not previously tried either restaurant.) Upon calling, I was placed on hold briefly to locate someone who could take my order. The woman on the phone was incredibly patient and helpful, doing her best to answer my questions. Placing the order itself took just a few minutes. Then my card was ran, and I was quoted a delivery time of about 35 minutes. The food arrived warm and delicious. I spent $20 on one entree, an appetizer, and a desert, and there is more than half left over. I will definitely order again :) read more

If you are getting great service, either enjoy it or realize you are at one of the overpriced ritzy restaurants that give you hamster size portions. Bad service at a Cuban restaurant means you are at a great place for good food and huge portions. If you order takeout here, 2 meals will feed a normal family of 5 or they will feed 2 offensive lineman. The portions are that big. The only negative is they got rid of the pressed cuban bread and replaced it with rolls, which are ok, but this is a cuban restaurant not a french bakery. read more

It all started with a call to place an order. Salmon a lo macho is what i ordered. On the phone i asked what it was because i had never ordered it before and my wife wanted a salmon and she loves garlic. They told me it was salmon with garlic sauce so i said perfect. I go pick it up and bring it home. I open it up and it was a mix of salmon with a whole bunch of different seafood mixed into it. I personally didn't mind but it was for my wife and she is picky. I went back and explained what had happened and they proceeded to redo it. I went home, came back and then back home, at that point my wife was just turned off amd lost her appetite. I asked the manager Martin if i can keep the food and also take the salmon he remade for me since it was going to be thrown away anyways and for the inconvenience of having to come back and lose time and gas. He wasn't having it. He threw out the most random excuse about allergy and giving it back to a customer how he couldn't do that and that it needed to be thrown away for sanitation purposes. Well why do you think i requested if i can just take it back with me? Do you care about customers at all? Thank you Martin, after spending $36 dollars for takeout, you have officially lost my business for not trying to satisfy your customer. I'll take my hard earned money and go spend it somewhere else. We walked in and the restaurant which had a foul odor. We asked to sit outside and all the servers seemed like it was a problem. No one answered us so we decided to sit outside on our own. I wanted to have a nice breakfast and the outside server informed us that they only serve in containers when sitting outside. It's very frustrating when minuscule accommodations can't be made.
